What a truly TERRIBLE experience with this Christmas tree light installer. I called the guy that owns Santa's Christmas Light Installer in mid-September just to make sure that we would be able to get on his schedule so that we could turn on the lights on our four trees at the entryway of our small condominium neighborhood in time for Thanksgiving. "Mike" the owner, assured us that everything that we wanted would be done as we wished, and on time ... and because we had called early in the season, that he would give us a discount, as well. Mike's 'business model' is to have the customer pay separately for the Christmas lights that they would then continue to own year-after-year ... and one of Mike's installers would put them up; and after Christmas come and take them down and leave them with you ... and to then 'repeat' the following year. That sounded good to me; and the price was good too! BUT ... Mike grossly miscalculated how many strings of lights would be needed to adequately cover our four trees ... and then the three-week nightmare before Christmas began. About the second week of November, Mike shows up with one of his installers, "Dave", and he tells me that Dave will have all of our lights up in just two or three hours ... I didn't think that that was going to be enough time for a 'good' job, so I walked Mike and Dave 1/2 block down to a neighboring community (and their already-up Christmas light display) and I showed them the 'wrapping' that we were looking to get on our display ... he basically said that he could do the 'five-inch' wrap on our trees; and it would look great. So Mike leaves Dave, along with six 'rolls' of lights ... and it turns out that that amount of lights was enough for maybe one and half trees. So I complain to Mike that our light display looks like crap. He says he'll be out there as soon as he finishes another job that he's on; and he'll make it right. Well, we keep hearing that from Mike for the next three-weeks, and for the most part nothing gets better. He then sends out another guy, Matthew, and Matthew installs just a few more lights (during the daylight hours); and come nighttime we find that the additional string of lights is an entirely different color than the other ones that were already up . So all of the people that live in the community are now saying so "what's with the 'Charlie Brown' light display? ... It look's better with no lights." And there's been no response from Mike on how he's going to make this better. **** WORST PERSON I'VE EVER HIRED --DO NOT EVER HIRE MIKE TO INSTALL YOUR HOLIDAY LIGHTS!!!!!!******* TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! IF I COULD GIVE HIM LESS OF A RATING ON THIS THING -- I WOULD!! OVERVIEW: 1. He installs with tape -- what a joke! 2. He never shows up when he says he will. 3. He never calls back when he says he will. 4. He doesn't care about his customer, is unprofessional and brought a great deal of immense stress to our family, even though we paid him $725 upfront for the installation/deinstallation. 5. He lies and is full of excuses as to why he can't show up and do the job that you agreed to with him. 6. Do not hire him or pay him via VENMO! 7. Faulty work, and extremely low quality overall. ***To summarize my extremely terrible experience, please read below!! This is what you can expect after hiring Mike to install Christmas lights!!!*** SUMMARY: In November, I had called early in the Christmas season to get lights installed to add some extra cheer to everyone and the children, since they are all home due to COVID-19. Instead, Mike put up a terrible lighting display, wit lights falling down everywhere. It was so awful, but what was worse, is that you can not trust Mike at his word! He's a liar and a terrible business person. He has no ability to organize anything or follow through, unless he's getting all your money upfront. After that, even though he did not fulfill our agreement of installing the lights properly, he gladly kept the $725. And by the way, this was for one string of white lights, taped to the gutter line of the house and lights around front door only. On November 14, 2020, Mike's worker "installed," lights with TAPE, which promptly fell down. Called Mike several times, and he kept promising he'd come out and fix, but no follow through. About 25-30% of lights fell down immediately and were down the entire season! I asked several times for him to install with hooks instead of tape and nothing. THIS NEVER HAPPENED! How can he make a business of installing lights with tape? Who does this? Well Mike does and it's just awful. Then by December 8th, Mike had still not fixed the lights, despite my phone calls. And on this day he said he'd call me back by noon to tell me when he could schedule to fix again and he never called. I texted and called and he'd always say he'd come out and fix and never did! ***We went the entire holiday season with the worst light display! *** Now by January, as I'm trying to get him to now take down this horrible light display, which is included in the original $725, he's full of excuses. He kept telling me all week that he'd text or call me back when he could put me on the schedule to take these lights, and never did. Instead, it took me hounding him constantly to get him to get this done. So much stress! I'm still asking him for a refund, and no response. Like I said he's happy to take your money, but actually doesn't do the work as promised and then is full of excuses when dealing with him. It's always something, he had to change his staff, life is hard, his truck broke down or some BS like that. Terrible in almost every aspect. Lights were hung with duct tape in some places and didn't cover the entire roof line like we had discussed. Then the worst part was when no one came to take the lights down which i had paid for upfront for some reason. The duct tape they used to hang some of the lights ripped paint off my house and mike just completely ignored me when i asked for a refund on the removal cost seeing as i had to take them down myself. read more

Mike did a great job hanging lights for us. Ours was a moderate sized job for a two story house that I no longer will do myself. His employees were on time fast and professional. We had the best looking house on our block for sure. We will definitely be using him again this year. read more
