    Great space!

The perfect stop before getting to lost pines. They have BARBACOA, and they serve it with the most deli salsa, spicy and not spicy both types. The place looks great for big groups like work outings and family events. The detail of bringing everything out on a tray no matter how small it was, like creamer, or more lime, FANTASTIC. I believe her name was Araceli and she was wonderful, def worth driving 15 mins from Elgin to here

Nice stop in Del Valle. Just a stones throw outside of Austin. Great Mexican restaurant/sports bar. Friendly service with lots of room to bring all of your friends. The Pulpo cocktail was fantastic! It seemed like a neverending bowl of octopus swimming in a slightly sweet and spicy tomato sauce. Will be back to try some more with friends!

Literally the best steak I've ever had from a restaurant. Delicious. Will be back when in Austin.

Birria de res tacos with consume, salsa verde and rice. In the background is the beef mole enchiladas. The best!

Same great food and service, but on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights the DJ is crazy loud. You can't have a discussion unless you yell. Turn it down please!

Decided to try SP for late meal on Saturday. Most places in the area close early and we didn't want to be rushed. Nearly 9pm and there were quite a few patrons inside. Music was loud and lively. I realized that the "live music" is sourced by a DJ; good vibe if you're hanging out with friends. Service was efficient -- we were seated, served and closed the check out in about 30 mins. My strawberry margarita tasted good but lacked spirit. Pasole was ok. The quesabirria and street tacos were great!

Cool vibes, good food, decent prices. My husband got wings and really liked them, good size and flavor. Service was good, she check in on us was patient when our party was late. Oh and clean restrooms. We were surprised we liked it because there has been 3 different restaurants at this exact location and I have visited for every restaurant but Santo Patio is by far my favorite. Will be visiting again!

My Mom and I are always looking for a new breakfast spot in between Bastrop and Austin. Santo Patio will now be our meeting spot! The staff is super nice y hablan espanol, the restaurant is huge with fun decor, very spacious with lively music and the food is delicious. We started with a Americano Cafe and Cortado. For espresso lovers go with the Cortado. I just had to add a packet of sugar and was good. For our entrees we went with the Migas Plate and Mole Enchiladas. We arrived at 10 am and they were serving breakfast along with the whole menu. I'm picky with my mole and this one has a great flavor. Large portions as well. For dessert we shared a flan which was divine. We took some tacos and pozole to go. Tacos were very heavily packed. The Pozole could use a little more flavor, but wasn't bad. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

2nd time ordering take out from Santo Patio. We like it! Love the quesabirra tacos and consome from here! The food tastes fresh! Wish the rice was more Spanish/mexican style and not fried rice style with corn.

This area is a food desert. Fortunately, this restaurant is an oasis. The parking lot is humongous. The staff are friendly, and there is plenty of seating, including a semi private room toward the bank. It is rather loud, especially on game day. The menu offers an array of authentic Mexican food. Everything is hot fresh and delicious. The margaritas and cocktails aretop-notch. Highly recommended.

So glad Santo Patio is in our area and they seem to be prospering. We have lived out here for years now and seen a few restaurants come and go in that space but it seems like they are here to stay! It's a large space with lots of seating. There is an outdoor area that's open now with TVs and a whole extra bar area where it looked like a family had reserved the space for a birthday party. We went on a Friday night and it was busy but there seemed to be just as many staff working as patrons eating. Service was astounding, very attentive and friendly. Ordered chips salsa and guac to start- salsa was warm and had a little kick at the end, guac was fresh and tasty. Husband got the enchiladas verde and I got the flautas. Portions were very generous and both were delicious (see photos). Menu is small enough to not be overwhelming but lots of various options. Only negative I would say was that the music was a little too loud for my liking. We will continue to give Santo Patio our service!

This place is rather close to the house and was a good find. Place is big, clean and is very sports friendly...and the food was pretty dang good. We started with the Quesobirria, Chips and Salsa....The Queso was very good, but Extremely small for the price...Chips were fresh but we were lost at the salsa...Served warm it was nothing more then juice...really no way to "scoop" to eat....literally the only way to finish the salsa would be to drink it...And the fact they actually charged $5 for chips and "salsa" is kinda crazy....we have been to Hundreds of Mexican restaurants where this is complimentary...So a total of $16 for a Very small Queso, chips and Salsa....As for the rest of the food...dam good and priced accordingly....Wife had the Flautas with rice on the side...and for white rice its flavor popped...I went with the Trio Taco plate...One each of Pastor, Carnitas and Bistec...they were all delicious and the green salsa was the perfect topping. Beans were solid as well. We truly like this place...but one of our goto staples is the Queso, Chips and Salsa when we try new Mexican joints...so our adventures will take us in another direction.

This is probably the first restaurant I've ever seen that literally has a car wash connected to it. Once inside you'll find an ATM, gambling machines, and a check cashing station. In other words, there seems to be a lot going on here besides being a restaurant. There's about 10 tables inside and four more outside. The only thing missing are some gas pumps. This place has all the ambience of a convenience store dining experience. The tables are rickety, the paint on the floor is well worn away, and the ceiling tiles are stained. The menus are in Spanish (no english) and there is no complementary chips and salsa here. We were able to order in English, but clearly this is geared towards Mexican customers primarily. They do have some frescas along with some Mexican beer, but nothing in the way of craft beer. We ordered the beef quesadilla and beef sope. The cubed meat on both our dishes was way overcooked, tough, bordering on inedible and "questionable". Even the greasy silverware did not appear very clean and even had some rust spots on the knife. The service was OK, but nothing special. I discovered after I paid at the counter where I included a tip, an additional tip had already been added without my knowledge. I will not risk dining at their other locations based on this experience. I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but in reality I should've kept on going down the road.

Most importantly: infinite menudo. Not pictured are the made-to-order options that are part of the buffet: french toast, pancake, or they can warm up toast or tortillas. Ask when you order the buffet. The restaurant itself is on the rustic, smaller side: seats 50 max (probably less per fire code). There is additional parking next door by Clint's Liquors (the parking lots are connected by a small wooden foot bridge). However, there is one food truck that has been in Cedar Creek forever. Mi Barrio at 71 and Pope Bend. This is an absolutely superlative food truck. If you needed one and only one place to eat along Route 71, This is the one you would want. * * * Tex-Mex is the order of the day here. The menu is very traditional. They are unapologetic about offering "alternative parts of the animal" such as tripas. The food is firey hot but hot with magnificent flavor. I never understood why people told me that Tex-Mex food is spicy. It isn't spicy in most places. It IS spicy at Mi Barrio. And this is fire you could learn to love. * * * Four notes of interest. a) I had the chicken fajitas. At bad Mexican food trucks, they use cheap chicken, Chicken that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. They use high integrity high quality ingredients at Mi Barrio. You could serve this chicken to your mother. b) Even though Mi Barrio is right next to Cedar Creek High School, I have never once seen a Cedar Creek High School student there. You go to the fast food restaurants near Westwood High in Austin, and they are packed with Westwood High students. I suspect the principal at Cedar Creek is stricter than the principal at Westwood High about letting students off school grounds. c) Most of the customers do not eat at the food truck. All of the customers I saw were working class Mexican. A few ordered for themselves and went off to eat someplace. A few others came in to get large orders that I presume were taken back to some work crew. The location is not wonderful. They are in the parking lot of a fairly cruddy Exxon convenience store. Highway 71 scenery is not magnificent. d) This place opens early and closes early. They will be there for breakfast. They will be there for lunch even if you wander in around 1-ish. I am a late afternoon kind of a guy which generally means I found them closed. * * * It would be snarky for me to say this is the best eating on Route 71, given the nearly total lack of competition. But it is more meaningful to say this place can stand up with The best of the Mexican/Central American food trucks on North Lamar in Austin AND The best of the Mexican/Central American food trucks on Route 812 in Del Valle. These are concentrations of really excellent Mexican food. You might not want to drive 35 miles to eat here. The location is ugly. This ain't no picture postcard. But if you DO stop and eat here, ignoring the view, You will eat very well indeed.

My husband and I decided to go out for breakfast on a Saturday AM at around 10. We were the only ones there and when we walked up the employee told us they were out of juices which was a little disappointing since a part of their marketing/menu focused on juices. We ordered the El Classico taco and The Outlaw with 2 lattes. (With 20% tip it came to $34) He told us it would be about 10/15 minutes - no problem. Tacos were ready and 1 latte, he said the other latte would be a little longer bc the machine was having issues. To say that we were underwhelmed with how "full" the tacos were for the price would be an understatement (see photos). About 5 minutes later, he told me that the machine was broken and they need to get fixed. I asked for my money back- he said he had to wait for the manager to come to do that and it would be another 10 minutes. We left without a refund because at that point, I wasn't going to wait around longer for a $6 refund. The tacos did have wonderful flavor but the portions for the price is disappointing. I have no problem spending money for good quality food but $10 and $7 for practically a street taco is a little steep IMO. We may return to try lunch/dinner but not sure if it's worth the drive for the price.
