It's a large space, great for groups, and it's nice there is a kids menu option. We started with water all around, plus Mexican cokes and a paloma. We shared seafood tostada, chips n guacamole, wings, and chicken flautas. Everything came out hot, fresh, and nicely seasoned. We have two gluten free folks in the group and there were plenty of corn based options. The tostadas come with three and were nice and fresh, I was a little hesitant when it said mayo, but there was just a bit to get the shrimp and imitation crab to stick together. Turned out the kids loved the wings - we tried the citrus pepper and Austin amber bbq flavors. The chicken inside the flautas was tender and we enjoyed the cabbage, onion, carrot slaw to bring a fresh crunch. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

If you are staying at Lost Pines Santo Patio is a great alternative to the one bar/restaurant. Maud's has an indoor full service bar and an outdoor patio that serves a limited menu. Management brought in an artist from Mexico to paint beautiful murals highlighting the Day of the Dead. The queso and fajitas were excellent. Santo Patio's Happy Hour is from 3:00-6:00. The house margaritas are 1/2 price. Everything else is the regular price. Our server, J, said she was new to Santo Patio, but I would not have known. She was very helpful and super friendly. We've been here so many times, I tried to order something I don't usually order from Mexican Restaurant -- a hamburger. I loved it! I sat at the bar and had a Patio Burger and a Modeli Negra followed by a nice sipping tequila. It was all wonderful. The Patio Burger has bacon, ham, jalapeño and grilled pineapple. The meat had a nice char flavor. The bun was perfect. The flavors melded together and I just really enjoyed it. The fries it came with were perfect, too. This is now my favorite burger in the area! Decided to try SP for late meal on Saturday. Most places in the area close early and we didn't want to be rushed. Nearly 9pm and there were quite a few patrons inside. Music was loud and lively. I realized that the "live music" is sourced by a DJ; good vibe if you're hanging out with friends. Service was efficient -- we were seated, served and closed the check out in about 30 mins. My Mom and I are always looking for a new breakfast spot in between Bastrop and Austin. Santo Patio will now be our meeting spot! The staff is super nice y hablan espanol, the restaurant is huge with fun decor, very spacious with lively music and the food is delicious. We started with a Americano Cafe and Cortado. For espresso lovers go with the Cortado. I just had to add a packet of sugar and was good. For our entrees we went with the Migas Plate and Mole Enchiladas. We arrived at 10 am and they were serving breakfast along with the whole menu. I'm picky with my mole and this one has a great flavor. Large portions as well. For dessert we shared a flan which was divine. We took some tacos and pozole to go. Tacos were very heavily packed. The Pozole could use a little more flavor, but wasn't bad. Food and service are amazing... I've eaten here a few times and I've never gotten anything except the quesabirria tacos, they are that good! Tonight I tried the Espresso Martini: made with freshly made espresso. Then some sort of magic happened because what I had in front of me was a champagne flat, filled with a dark brown luscious looking base topped with a rich full flavored foam!!! It was garnished with 3 espresso beans... can I just say I've never had an espresso martini like this...they have always been filled with Bailey's or something else super sweet and milky... or used a canned espresso.... So glad Santo Patio is in our area and they seem to be prospering. We have lived out here for years now and seen a few restaurants come and go in that space but it seems like they are here to stay! It's a large space with lots of seating. There is an outdoor area that's open now with TVs and a whole extra bar area where it looked like a family had reserved the space for a birthday party. We went on a Friday night and it was busy but there seemed to be just as many staff working as patrons eating. Service was astounding, very attentive and friendly. Ordered chips salsa and guac to start- salsa was warm and had a little kick at the end, guac was fresh and tasty. Husband got the enchiladas verde and I got the flautas. Portions were very generous and both were delicious (see photos). Menu is small enough to not be overwhelming but lots of various options. We started with the Quesobirria, Chips and Salsa....The Queso was very good, but Extremely small for the price...Chips were fresh but we were lost at the salsa...Served warm it was nothing more then juice...really no way to "scoop" to eat....literally the only way to finish the salsa would be to drink it...And the fact they actually charged $5 for chips and "salsa" is kinda crazy....we have been to Hundreds of Mexican restaurants where this is complimentary...So a total of $16 for a Very small Queso, chips and Salsa....As for the rest of the food...dam good and priced accordingly....Wife had the Flautas with rice on the side...and for white rice its flavor popped...I went with the Trio Taco plate...One each of Pastor, Carnitas and Bistec...they were all delicious and the green salsa was the perfect topping. Beans were solid as well. I am extremely disappointed by the treatment my husband and I received at Santo Patio, especially after being loyal customers since the restaurant opened. I have always enjoyed their food and have even brought family and friends to this place, so this experience was both shocking and upsetting. I specifically wanted an order of their tortilla chips, which I really enjoy, so my husband went in to order some. The staff said they didn't know how to ring up an order of just chips and could only charge him for "chips and salsa," which was perfectly fine with us. Naturally, he expected to receive both items if that's what he was paying for. However, instead of simply handling the request, the "manager" Humberto, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He mocked my husband for wanting to order just chips, he told him he "could have gone to a gas station," and made comments implying that my husband was trying to get free food, even saying they "weren't a charity" and had "employees to pay." The condescending tone and attitude were completely unnecessary and extremely disappointing. All unprovoked. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that after my husband left the restaurant, the manager actually stood outside the front door and watched him walk to the car and continued watching us as we drove away. It felt intimidating and completely out of line for someone representing a business. As soon as my husband was back in the car I asked why that man was standing there watching us and my husband explained what had just happened. We have supported Santo Patio from the beginning, left positive reviews in the past, and brought many people here. To be treated this way over something as simple as ordering chips was honestly horrific. Ive lived near this place for awhile and never tried it out because I thought it was just a bar. It has a regular bar in the restaurant side, but a separate bar area & private event room. We had the Ganachas as starter: fried corn masa with ground beef, mild orange tomato salsa, slightly pickled cabbage (table-pickled, lightly salted). For our entrees, we had the Mole Enchiladas and the Quesabirrias. The Mole Enchiladas were slightly sweet, just enough to not be bitter. The quesabirrias were fried and folded, but not greasy. I took a few close-ups to give you an idea of what it's like. The borracha beans were flavored by ham and a few other things. Overall, the food was very tasty, well-seasoned, filling but not heavy, and presented nicely. The menu is small, focused, and different from the typical Mexican or Tex-Mex in the area. I got enchiladas verdes and it was good. 3/5 My son got the queso birria tacos he rated it 3/5 star. My daughter got the Strawberry salad with Salmon she rated it 3/5. My husband got menudo, he rated it 2/5 even though they provided onions and cilantro, oregano and peppers it still lacked flavor. He wanted homemade tortillas it did not appear to be. We also order guacamole and queso with brisket. The chips were thick and hard and did not seem fresh. I like a Mexican restaurant that offers chips and salsa but this one did not we had to order them. The waitress did not come to check on us once without us calling her over. My son needed a refill, we had to call her. I needed a to go box and we had to cal her over and when i was asking for a container for the beans and a lid for the salsa she kept trying to walk off to go stand behind the bar. Even when we were done eating we had to call her to get the ticket to pay. She never brought a ticket but just told us the total which I thought was strange. It was cute and clean. This is our 3rd time at Santo Patio and the food is consistently outstanding! My favorite, so far, is Beef Fajita tacos, but the Quesabirria ranks a very close second. Hubby loves the burgers, too. Apps: the salsa is served warm. It's delicious but the temp might be a surprise. The granichas (sp?) app was good after we added the jalapeños (a little bland otherwise). All tortillas are fresh!! Service is very attentive and they aim to please. (Note, many servers speak little or no English, but we either figured it out or an English-speaker arrived at the table to help--they're really nice!). Lots of TVs going and music is pretty loud. East of Austin, on HWY 71. A brand spanking new structure with a lot of Hill country influence. The smoke will draw up and in before you know it. Not in a real aggressive way, but in an oh-what's-this?, kind of way. If you park on the north side of Santo Patio, you'll walk around to the west side entrance. There's a ramp on the north side of the building that looks like an entrance, but wasn't that day for several patrons, myself included. Food... We were saying adios to one of our work compadres. It was quiet at the lunch hour. We were seamlessly seated with plates, utensils, napkins, menus and water. Our order included hamburgers (thick patty with ample cheese), fries, wings, quesadillas, appetizers included guacamole. salsa, chips, little masa boat, meat and cabbage picadillo. I asked our waitress about a dish (meat empanadas) which she said was no longer available. At her suggestion I ordered the spicy pork chop. It came well grilled, juicy and tender. Sides were frijoles en bola and some grilled veggies. Flavorful and tender. So... Next time I will go to a place that includes chips and salsa. The manager should realize that there are 50 Mexican restaurants within 10 miles that don't change extra.
