Let's just say that the hype is not worth the time or the money spent. Tried them for dinner it was ok, then friends and clients kept saying it must have been a one off. Try them for brunch thats what they are known for. Should have trusted my instincts and not returned. Went for brunch this morning, half the restaurant was empty (not a too busy issue) sat outside. Ordered steak and eggs and my partner 2 eggs over medium with a cappuccino & Bellini. Well again took forever, had warm water had to flag the waiter down to get us ice, finally got the drinks, coffee ok Bellini not. Then the food comes 15 minutes later eggs crisped on both sides and fries soggy and cold. So upset that we just ate and came to work. Now I understand why it's empty whenever we walk by. Early lunch on a Sunday allowed some of us to order breakfast and some of us to order lunch. The servings here are huge and the food is fresh and well prepared. With reservations, we were seated right away even though it was packed inside and out. Water kept coming but the other service was slow. It took a long time for our waitress to initially take our order but once she finally did, the food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. That was nice as I got a free salad but that was obviously by mistake and because they messed up her order. We also ordered popovers which came in a batch of 3, 2 of which looked burnt and barely had any pastry to devour. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Awful establishment. Had a situation where the General Manager (questionable) spoke with us and she was extremely disrespectful and did not seem to appreciate regular customers. The low rating on Yelp and other services is not surprising based on who is in charge. Also, the hosts are always rude and seem to not want to do their job. Had lunch with a coworker here on Thursday. We shared a crispy calamari because I just love calamari. She had the Sarabeth signature sirloin burger. I had the chop salad and we both had sangria - she had red sangria and I had white sangria. Both were very good. The food was very good and the portion of calamari was a big portion. Service was quick and the server, Cosme, was personable and great at his job. Although this was my first time, having lunch here, it was not my first time coming to this establishment. Back in 2022, I put together a business dinner for 22 people in one of their private rooms. We received great service and the presentation was great. Although the menu was prefix, they let me make some adjustments for people that were vegetarian or had allergies. All in all a great experience. PS: I also found out that my favorite jam that I purchase at the supermarket, called Sarabeth's, is made by the same person who owns the restaurant. I had not made that connection. Think in-laws are in town or meeting up with an acquaintance you haven't seen in years. They have multiple locations and they are all quite similar, but overall the food is ok, nothing to write home about, just extremely mediocre. Staff is very professional, interiors are pretty. Prices are a little inflated but you're paying for the ambiance and general vibe of the restaurant. We wandered into Sarabeth's for brunch on a Monday holiday and it feels very New York-y. It's classically decorated and is very clean and pristine. We were able to sit immediately near a window and ordered lattes, the breakfast bowl, and the Goldie lox bowl. The lattes were good and simple, nothing crazy. The breakfast bowl is a bunch of toppings over quinoa, simple, delicious, but not that filling for the price. I went for SARABETH'S SIGNITURE SIRLOIN BURGER. It consisted of aged cheddar, pickled green tomatoes, bacon, jalapeño marmalade, sautéed onions, and house cut French fries. I ordered medium rare. It disappointed me. I had better burger in 3rd Avenue by a bar and by other hole in the wall places. I regretted my decision. I left the place quite hangry. The price of the burger was quite pricey: $24 where other places that would offer better quality would have been around $16. Its quite pricey at Sarabeth! The drinks in here was alright. I am normally not a drinker so I wouldn't know if drinks are better or worse than other places. I ordered a Sangria and it tasted alright The service in this place is quite good. The servers were very attentive to our needs and quite polite. However, i feel they kept asking our party if we wanted more drinks. I think their big selling point is on their drinks. It made me feel like I was in clubbing in the middle of the daytime instead of night time. The egg Benedict's were good. My bf said the chicken sandwich was average. The popovers were a bit disappointing it was cold, tasted burnt on the outside and super eggy/ dense/ almost like uncooked inside. The only other time I had popovers was in Maine and they came warm and a croissant like texture. The service was not good, our server ended up forgetting us & we had a nice worker who came and cleared our dishes, he realized what happened and got us our server for the bill. While we were waiting, the hostess (Didn't catch her name, I think reddish hair more broad) seated two other groups that arrived after us. When I politely asked again about being seated--especially since there were several open tables--she was very dismissive and rude, telling us to continue waiting. At that point, we decided to leave.
