We reviewed many photographers who had no business taking pictures let alone calling themselves professionals. We came upon About The Day and the photographs spoke for themselves. It was obvious that the photographer(s) who took these pictures knew what they were doing and had earned the right to be called a professional. Planning for a wedding is hard enough and talking to most vendors is awkward, but not with About The Day! We spoke to Stephen and he was friendly and helpful. Imagine calling an old friend to catch up, that was what it was like to speak to Stephen and Sonia. We went through details and within the month we had booked About The Day to take our wedding pictures. We just got our pictures and they are OH MY Goodness AMAZING! I have no regrets from Stephen and his wife Sonia, what an amazing pair. They put in extra time to make sure everything was perfect for us and to make sure we were comfortable. We thought it would be uncomfortable taking pictures but I can honestly say it was easier taking pictures with them then it was with family and friends. The reason for this.. We trusted them to know their stuff and to make sure the pictures were FANTASTIC! They were also one of the few great photographers who are Apple mobile device compatible. So if you want to see photographers pictures on your iPad or iPhone keep this in mind. They offer military discount and this meant a lot to us. A few pieces of advice: Book early, we booked 1 yr 4 months before wedding to lock in our date. Pay a little extra for the upgraded packages, it is worth it. Stephen & Sonia from About the Day Photography were on our short list of photographers we were…read moreconsidering for our wedding. They are extremely responsive and accommodating. When we first submitted a message on their website, we received a call back the same day...I think it might have even been within an hour. Upon meeting with them, we crossed the other front runners off of the list. They addressed every one of our questions like troopers. We liked that they do not charge a travel fee even though they would have to come all the way to Seattle from Olympia for the wedding. We also liked that for minor touch ups in the photos, they do not charge an extra fee like so many others do. They were super friendly, had a great sense of humor and both of us felt comfortable with them right away. In addition, after much online research, we found that their photography packages to be very reasonable and they even worked with us to include some things that we wanted in one package that weren't included in another. We had them do our engagement photos as well. There almost ended up being a scheduling issue due to a travel arrangement snafu. However, Stephen & Sonia adjusted things to our schedule which was extremely considerate on their part and which we greatly appreciated. We were delighted with our engagement photos and the guest book they were used in. On the wedding day, they were very timely...in fact, we were running a little late. They always kept an eye on the time for us, making sure that we remained on schedule, but never making us feel rushed or awkward. In fact, a lot of my family commented on how friendly they were. Both of them have a great eye for lighting and composition and it shows in the end product.
