We hired Jennifer Kidd for an engagement and wedding session. During the engagement session,…read moreJennifer was very professional and when we saw the pictures we were very pleased with the results. The wedding session, though, was a completely different matter. The experience was horrible. Jennifer showed a complete lack of professionalism and was obviously un-prepared for the wedding. She started by showing up over 2 hours late and because of that did not capture any photographs of the groomsmen getting ready and missed the bridesmaids getting their hair and make-up done. In a prior meeting, Jennifer said she would go to the venue the week of the wedding at the time of the ceremony to determine the best places to shoot based on the lighting and background. This was not done. She did not go to the venue at the time of the wedding and she had no idea what the lighting was at the time of our ceremony. She was completely unprepared. She didn't even have a set list of pictures to take (even though we provided her a list the morning of the wedding). And because of that, she did not capture a lot of the family pictures we wanted. She was visibly upset during the session and her stress carried over to the guests. Since our wedding 2 months ago, we have had numerous people (people not in the wedding party) comment on the photographer and the obvious stress that she was causing. When we approached Jennifer with our feedback there was no attempt to try to reimburse or accommodate for the poor quality of work. This is probably the reason she requires a complete up front payment of the money, prior to performing the work. The actual pictures themselves are of poor quality (grainy, out of focus, and poorly framed). Weddings are a once in a lifetime thing and we can never get those moments back. If we could do it all over again, we would NOT have hired Jennifer. It honestly would have been better if friends did the photography. At least then the guests would not have been stressed and we could have followed a set list to ensure we got all of the necessary photos.

The photos were of myself, my husband and my dog; some all together and some of the dog and then just us. I just got the photos back, very week turn around time (less than 5 days) and they are lovely, however my one complaint is that Tania gave no direction on posing which for some people that might not be a bad thing. However, I was looking for her to use her photo expertise and pose us in interesting, cute, exciting poses but that didn't happen. It was more less us walking through a very beautiful wooded area and just stopping to stand, sit or whatever. I guess I would have like to know her style before going so I could have been prepared for some poses. Or maybe she was just having an off day and didn't want to work hard, I don't know. Looking back, maybe I should have been more straightforward and asked if she would recommend some poses and/or pose us. Moral of the story, communication!
