I've ate plenty of meals here throughout the year. The desserts are my favorite part of the menu, specifically the custard. The food quality and taste is definitely above average compared to other Turkish restaurants I have been to. Kaan (one of the waiters) is very attentive to all tables. I came for a late lunch meeting. It was nice that they have outdoor seating, but it wasn't the best experiencing because of all the bugs. I got the gyro platter with soup and my friend got the shish kebab. The bread they give is nice, fluffy, and warm. Food seemed a little under seasoned. Also, I heard from my girlfriend that the white sauce they give was very good but we didn't receive it. They also include an 18% gratuity that I didn't realize until afterwards when calculating the split. Honestly I wouldn't even be upset if the service was good but they weren't very attentive or did the bring the one thing I did ask for - the sauce. Friend and I calculated what we each got and ended up paying close to $50 for something that would've been ~$30. I guess my fault for not catching but also I've never seen included gratuity for a party of 2. Honestly food was just ok for the price and the service. Maybe it was cause we were the only Asians there? Who knows what the reason was, but I wouldn't return or recommend. read more

Food here was excellent, way surpassed our expectations. The fish was grilled long enough to be tender and charred but not to the point it was burnt. The chicken kebab was flavorful too, and perfectly smoked. We didn't expect Saray to be this good. The manager Ahmed spoke a little bit with us and suggested desserts that would suit our tastes and provided complimentary tea. Disappointing. Just like every Turkish restaurant in the area, they start off all good and then they raise the prices drastically. A gyro used to be $9, now it's, $14 and smaller. Not cool. You either raise the prices or give less food, why both? I will not recommend this place. read more

I had food from Sarays a few times! Love it! There's so many Turkish restaurants in that area, but in my opinion Saray is the best one! I always enjoy their pide. I did a custom order with soujuk, eggs, and mozzarella! Absolute Heaven! My hubby ordered the lamb. He said it was "okay" but honestly, if they added more seasoning, it would've been amazing. It was a little on the bland side. But the veggies were delish. The appetizers were perfect! We ordered this pastry "cigar looking" roll ups with feta cheese which was very savory with falafel! So good! The reason I give this place 4 stars, is because some of the things we wanted, they were out of. So that was a bummer. But ambiance was great. Very cozy and romantic. The main dining hall has beautiful mosaic lanterns everywhere. We were seated in this enclosed screened in patio which was so adorable. Awful customer service by management. I won't go into details but this "manager" was out of his line with his unsolicited commentary every time we have been there. His behavior is completely and utterly rude against women and children. He acts and talks as if children don't matter and they are only there to bother him. Also, some word of mouth comments from the community that were brought up regarding the individual which is very concerning. Disgraceful choice of an employee by the owner. We went there to get some traditional Turkish food as we have seen advertisement. We ordered 5 different meal and only 2 of them passed, but giving 3 stars because of the kindness of the staff. Iskembe, kelle paca soups definitely was not prepared in traditional way and taste. Liver was tasteless and was not prepared with enough species to get rid of its heavy smell and taste. 2 of my stars goes to cheese-pastirma pide and regular salad. This is a nice cozy Turkish restaurant. You bring your own alcohol, the food is amazing from the appetizers to to the deserts. I went with my friend who was born in Turkey so we got the full treatment. Nice cozy outdoor patio as well, will be returning soon for sure. Ordered for the first time, not so satisfied! We ordered Salmon and doner platter and couple of additional sides for pick up. We got our order without any sides in the bag. I gave them a call back and asked if they can make it ready so i can go pick up the rest of my order. The lady said she can't find our order and she will give us a call back and she never did. I have tried their food for the first time a few days ago when one of our friends invited us for dinner and they had take out food from this restaurant. We had 3 different kind of kebabs, rice, bulgur, hamsii, different kind of mezze and everything was delicious! Today we decided to come for brunch with my husband and friends. We had a breakfast platter, menemen, kuymak (reaaaly good!) manti and iskembe soup (which was one of the best i have ever tried!) and a coconut and a fig dessert to go. Heard good things about their döner kebap so I wanted to give a try. That was one of the best meat doner in the US. I also tried Kelle Paca Soup and it's awesome and very much same as in Turkey. Their cook is from north side of Turkey (Karadeniz) therefore I was not surprised about the taste and quality of food. Service is also excellent really on time, people are very nice. Unbelievable food. Came here with zero expectations and cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was with the food/selection. I tried three different main courses and they were all point on. I've been to a gazillion Turkish restaurants and this one has it right from A to Z. The decor and ambiance is very basic but who cares, I'm not there for show and tell but to indulge myself in authentic Turkish dishes. I love this place. They have some really good Turkish food. It's nice inside. They have two rooms. When the weather is good they have an outdoor area to sit too. They only have about 8 parking spaces but you can park on the street never an issue read more

Absolutely terrible experience ordering delivery from here during Ramadan. Ordered from seamless, food was supposed to arrive around 7:35, waited until 8:00 and nothing there, contacted seamless they said the order was marked as delivered (the restaurant marked it as delivered when it was not). Called the restaurant they said they would check with the driver, 25 minutes later calling them again and no one is responding. Now I haven't had my iftar yet and it's been 2 hours since the order was made, used to always order from here but never anymore. read more

Just terrific! Love all the Turkish joints in Cliffside park but these guys differentiate themselves w having great ambience while a lot of other Turkish places are a bit drab. Ordered a few cold apps and each one was great. Then wife and I each did the falafel lunch special and it was beyond tasty. Then finished up w a couple desserts. Can't quite tell you what they were but also very good. Didn't have baklava which is one of my favorites but had a bunch of other choices. We were supposed to dine at Sophia's on Aug 17 but the downpour of rain on Monday night prevented us from doing that. This restaurant was very unprepared for rain and when we showed up they turned us away even though we had reservations. We next went to Saray Cuisine. This restaurant was fully prepared for rain as they whole outside was covered. We showed up, they were very accommodating and set up a table for us outside. The service and food were impeccable. We were very hungry from golfing earlier and the two of us ate a wide variety of foods. We started off with Calves Liver, a salad and an assortment of cold appetizers ( Babaganush, Lebhi, and Eggplant with sauce). All very good. For dinner we had the mixed platter which included a variety of meats and rice, then dessert and a cup of tea to end the night. It's also a BYOB restaurant so we brought a nice bottle of wine with our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want great Turkish food. read more
