Saray Express is a quick place to stop for a quality bite of Lebanese food! They have an entire counter of prepared dishes, including mezzes, salads, and dips, as well as two rotating spits of meat for freshly carved shawarma. My pick was the Vegetarienne plate, which was served in a sectioned paper tray and came with tabbouleh (made with lots of parsley and just a hint of tomatoes and bulgur); creamy hummus dressed with olive oil and paprika; thick muttabal (eggplant and tahini dip); crumbled feta cheese; a falafel fritter covered with tahini sauce; and two sambusaks (triangle pastries made with a chewy dough), one filled with a gooey cheese and herb mixture, and one filled with spinach. Every item on this plate was delicious from the creamy dips to the lemony tabbouleh to the earthy falafel to the warm pastries! I also asked for a side of their thick, flavorful harissa sauce, which added a great spicy flavor to the different components. read more
