It was the big flashing Sasquatch on McKellips that caught my eye and prompted me to Google what this place was. I'm so glad I stopped. Just an unassuming food truck next to JJ's Landscaping. The people are very nice. The customer ahead of me placed a huge order, maybe for his office, and I assumed I'd be waiting for awhile. It was very cool of them to walk out right away with my order, as it appeared they'd worked my meals in first. Now the food: my husband had the green chili shredded beef burrito and he really enjoyed it. I had the carne asada quesadilla. The tortilla was the best part: tender and grilled to perfection. I liked the meat too. They say they use a mix of cheeses but it looked like mostly cheddar to me. While this wasn't bad, I'm just used to quesadillas that usually have asadero, Monterey Jack, or other white cheeses. The portion was so generous I had enough for two meals. They included a grilled jalapeño which my husband promptly stole. I'm pretty sure we'll return to try some other menu items.

Phenomenal! TASTY & fresh, hot sauce leaving the perfect burn. Lots of outdoor seating. Spacious with inviting seating area, and they have corn hole! Great service, even received some recommendations on the hiking areas near by.

My new local goto Taco Stand with "real" friendly family folks running it. If ur tired of same ole ". . . biertos" restaurants cranking out junk Mexican Food, this will be a true tastebud delight. Located right off McKellips, look for the soon-to-be-famous Green Sasquatch Truck. Right next to JJ Landscaping, North side of McKellips Rd. Very good value-price-selection from Burritos to Street Tacos that will make your tongue roll with very much home-cooked flavor. I had the Shredded Beef Green Chile Burro and Ooh la lah, it was moist and yummy. Coming from New Mexico roots myself, this item was done right. Not too runny and stew-like and just the right amount of flavors. Ingredients can be adjusted when ordering and ur not going to get Nickel and dimed to death on cost run-ups. Bottle beverages of all u can imagine. Take in a game of CornHole if u wish. Plenty of comfy seating in the court yard next to Green trees compliments if JJ Landscaping. Don't let this gem pass u by. Worth the stop . Ask for Joe or Joe and come enjoy what good food service is all about.

A Mesa Must Checkout. If you have seen too many ". . . biertos" taking over, give this fresh, well-thought out and very tasty Taco Stand a try. Can't miss. Directly off McKellips Rd just West of JJ Landscaping. Owners are very friendly and welcome your tastebuds to delight in their well thought-out recipes and setting. U can even take in game of Corn Hole if u wish. Day/Night, give urself and friends something fresh and new to enjoy. Only available in NE Mesa. Hours are limited and can change seasonally, so look up before arriving.

Really nice truck setup with covered seating, plenty of parking and lots of space! This wasn't our favorite taco but the bean and cheese burrito was great!

For being a brand new pop up style taco stop, it's so well put together! Really cute casual atmosphere and goood tacos! One of each was perfect. Perfect addition to the neighborhood.

The green and red chili burro are the best. There pollo and carne asada tacos are so good! They are open from October to May.

The tacos were exactly what I was looking for and just a touch of extra cheese and sauce that took it over the top 4 stars

They had one pot of boiling oil for all the orders they received. I asked a patron if it was good and he gave me a rude look and said, "Of course I am eating it." That should have been my sign from God not to order, but I had a long night of drinking and had nothing since an early breakfast. So I ordered... I figured it would be really good for the 30 minute wait and $15.00, but alas disappointing. Tasteless fish that was either fresh or frozen Pacific cod or frozen poor quality Atlantic cod. The batter was excellent as were the chips and the oil was fresh. I grew up on the north Atlantic coast in the US and lived in England and Ireland. The fish was just awful and that is the entreé so one star. That guy I asked had zero tastebuds. Long Covid? See a doctor, just not me please! Zero ambiance.

They had paper ordering sheets and pencils at the table, which seemed smart. The special of the day was carne asada. You can get flour or corn tortillas though this isn't indicated anywhere. I got a carne asada taco and a green Chile brisket taco. Both had a lot of meat but I wish there had been more toppings. The meat was good but there weren't any sauces or salsas available so it just seemed rather plain and a bit clumsy. My friends had gotten tacos before me and all felt the cheese was definitely parmesan and not cotija, and didn't like it, so I asked for no cheese. I would have liked these better with a scoop of pico! The young woman working to take orders was very friendly and helpful!

When you think #SupportLocal it is harder to think of anything more local than a food truck (save a…read morelemonade stand). Post-pandemic, I'm loving seeing the re-emergence of food trucks throughout the Valley as well as special food truck festivals. For brick-and-mortar restaurants that also have a food truck, it is a convenient way to try new places without traveling. As Forrest Gump said, "My mom always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." The same goes for food trucks, really. When I heard that Mr. Munchies was going to be around, I checked around to see what was going to be on offer. Their Instagram had some snaps of mini-donuts and corndogs. Ooh-kay...It turns out that the menu IS corndogs and mini-donuts. Hence, there is truth in advertising the name Mr. Munchies. This food truck is not offering meals per se as much as they are snacks. I ordered the Heavyweight corndog. It was more than a typical corndog as 1/4 pound all-beef frank hand-dipped in cornbread batter and served golden brown. Add some Jalapeno cheddar and you have quite a large corndog. I have never been a corndog person but this was good. It was fried perfectly and crunchy without being dry. Perhaps my only complaint was that at $10 it seemed pricey but food prices are going up. Now, for the donuts. These are also served directly from the fryer. Mr. Munchies has several toppings and flavors available. When I asked if I could mix and match (even six and six) they said no. This totally makes sense from an operational perspective but is also a daunting choice when you are ordering a dozen of something you have never had before. I went with the Reese's Peanut Butter version since it's a flavor I know and like. They claim the mini-donuts are drizzled with Ghiradelli chocolate and Reese's. What I ended up with was a small box of flavorless dough. They weren't sweet and they really didn't have any flavor other than grease. I ate one and stopped there. It is possible that I perhaps chose the wrong flavor. They had several others including a cinnamon sugar one that would perhaps taste better. But the Reese's was an expensive flop at $8. Would I eat at Mr. Munchies again? Probably not. But it is self-described "carnival food" and when you need a quick fix, their corndogs may be the answer.
