Disappointing experience, good food, terrible service, and zero respect for customers…read more We were given a 1h15m dining window, which we accepted. The ordering was slow, and despite writing our order out in the Notes to avoid any confusion, dishes still arrived wrong. It took a lengthy conversation with our server before she even understood what had been sent out incorrectly -- time we simply didn't have. We raised the issue and noticed them we wouldn't be able to finish in time given their mistakes. Their response? After 1h 15min, staff swooped in to clear plates -- while one of our friends was still eating. And they still charge a service fee for this? The food is the one saving grace, but the management is chaotic and the attitude toward customers is unacceptable.

The hamachi kama was nicely charred and still very juicy on the inside. The skewers (yakitori and beer tongue in the picture) were also very tasty and the meat was very tender. They also had a decent drink menu with several sake options and mixed drinks like Japanese fruit sours. They are reservation only but their online system is simple to navigate. I look forward to visiting this restaurant again to try their other skewers!

I've tried everything on the menu but highly recommend Spicy Chicken Karaage, Sweet Potato Croquettes, Banana Fritters (yum), and all the sushi variations. The staff treats me kindly every time I come especially being that I go every single day when I'm there. But no questions asked, must try. I'm including a lot of pictures.

(Seriously, I think it was a money laundering business as they never had any customers, it seemed.) And thus a few days after it opened, we went to try it out...that was quite a while ago and we've been back several times since. However, to be quite honest, Sushi Wa wasn't what I would call one of my instant favourites. My first visit was actually not so much of revelation - I liked the decor, the nice service, but thought the food was only so so. Plus, I thought it was odd that a sushi place would also offer a partially Korean menu, such as bi bim bap. Now Sushi Wa has come to be one of our deafult take-away locations and funnily enough, the bi bim bap has become a favourite of mine. (To be sure, it's not amazing, but quite good.) My partner always orders the Mixed Chirashi and the rolls are generally also of very good quality.

Talk about authentic, this place is a gem. Just got out of a concert and needed food badly, found out this place opens late. Walked in at 10.40pm and they still took orders. Has a wide selection of sushi, sashimi and set meals. Meal sizes are just nice and the prices are decent. High quality meat, tastes lovely Lovely staff, quick service and lovely ambience. It's a nice place to chill, and have drinks. Enough seats for couples, groups and families. I wouldn't say it's kids friendly cause it feels like a place where adults come in to let go some steam after a long day (maybe it's because I'm here at almost 11pm). Also no space to park a stroller. I'm going to come back here to chill DF out lol

French Beans with Sesame Dressing had perfectly-cooked beans, but the dressing lacked depth of flavour and the portion was tiny. Ten Zaru Soba (cold buckwheat noodles with tempura) had tasteless, watery dip. The noodles were cooked nicely, but Tempura was very greasy. Sake Shioyaki - grilled salmon with salt - was very small and was just plonked on top of lettuce; presentation was awful. The rice portion was very mean, too. Very bad value for money.
