The designer and owner, Mrs Laurence Coste, is a fairly talented jewellery designer, yet showing a total lack of disrespect towards her very own loyal customers: she basically tried to rip me off charging me a ridiculous fee of £45.00 to just glue a tiny stone back onto one of my earrings. Not only was I told when I left the earring for repair that there will be no fee as this will be done as a courtesy! but she also phoned me after one month of waiting to ask me to send a photo of the other earring as she could not find the one I left with her...Then 2 weeks after, she calls me back to finally pick it up but I need to pay £45.00. I refused to pay reminding her this was a promised courtesy. She raised her voice at me on the phone...very rude. How ugly to do that to a customer...

This was the fourth place in Hatton Gardens that we had visited that day as we were trying to find someone who could fix the very unique custom engagement ring I commissioned from a family friend in the States. The other three places we went didn't seem right to us either a bit pushy on selling their own ring, not having their own workshop, or not understanding what we wanted the ring to look like. It was clear after speaking with Chris for only a few minutes that we were in good hands. It was clear that he is a craftsman who takes the highest pride in his work and was exactly the person we were hoping to find to fix the ring. Chris didn't pull a fee quote out of the air, we saw him carefully consider the elements of the project as he wrote out the cost of the gold and his labour estimate. Unknown to him, this was 1/3 less than the other shops had quoted. Because we are complete novices when it comes to custom jewelry, we did not explain ourselves as well as we could have. We picked up the ring from Chris and while it was beautiful, it was still not exactly as we envisioned. Apprehensively, we went back to see if it were possible to make any adjustments. Chris put our worries aside and took the ring back to change. When it was finished the ring was exactly what we wanted. Chris and the team did an amazing job and didn't charge anything extra for the re-work, though he easily could have. Could not ask for better service and cannot recommend enough. This is someone who is doing a job they love, doing it well, while keeping the customer in mind at all time.

My fiancé and I stumbled across this magical shop while predicting Hatton Garden for our wedding…read morebands. My engagement ring is nearly 100 years old and we decided it would be nice to have equally seasoned wedding bands, which are surprisingly hard to find in the old ornate hand engraved styles. Until we found Andrew R Ullmann's shop. When we arrived, the store was busy, but the owners were adept at multitasking handing us trays upon trays of stunning wedding bands they saved from being melted down. Eventually, as we were narrowing our selection, they helped us navigate what rings could be sized and which shouldn't be. We found a ring for each of us that suits us. They were able to size both rings. When we sized Mark's ring they needed to add some engraving so the pattern was not incomplete. They did this in a days time as they knew we were traveling back to the states the next day. Their workmanship was exquisite and you can't tell where there work ends and the original beings. They are also the kindest most helpful group we have ever encountered in the jewelry field. We highly recommend them and will certainly be back.

I was really sad this week when I broke the clasp on my bracelet when I banged my arm into the fire…read moreextinguisher at work. I am a little bit clumsy. I randomly was looking for a place to fix it near here and they happened to be open at 8am, or maybe they weren't open, but they let me in. I was so grateful. They fixed my bracelet in about 2 days for £20. It was worth it to me since it's a family heirloom. Andrew, I presume, and his son were both very nice and helpful. Glad to have found a trustworthy place to do repairs! The actual stock looked gorgeous, too.
