We get delivery from here about twice a month. Lately the food quality has gone way down hill. Our most recent order, an employee Cole called to let me know they were out of the protein for the 3 salads I ordered- he offered to switch from turkey to chicken which i accepted. The chicken was dry and inedible. The salads were supposed to have feta cheese, they gave us blue cheese. They forgot to add the almonds. I mean at this point, this isn't at all what I ordered. We also were missing a bread. To add to it, the driver had delivered our food must have smoked in his car because everything smelled like cheap Marijuana. I will say the pizza looked food, but I couldn't get over the smell. Super disgusting and disappointing experience. $70 burned. I really like this restaurant but based on my last experience I would have left 2 stars. I ordered several salads and one the container was half full (Turkey &feta) and the chicken I subbed it with was incredibly dry and hard. The second salad with issues was the roasted vegetable and it didn't come with the butternut squash which was crappy. Then the Brussels sprouts in the salad were soooo salty, basically inedible. I placed a Yelp order to go for pick up and ordered my usual Sauce favorite, the Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza on hand tossed crust. I also ordered caprese bruschetta. While I didn't take a picture of the bruschetta it was made so sloppily. I was surprised by the presentation but it still tasted delicious. However the pizza/salad is basically inedible. This isn't the usual quality of food I have come to expect from Sauce. I've ordered this menu item a dozen times at least over the years. But this time the lettuce is brown and wilted and there is an excess of dressing making it goopy and inedible. I'm so bummed. Sauce, how did this pass your usual flawless quality control? Other tables had steam jumping off their hot pasta dishes. It was still good. The pizza. I keep it simple-thin and crispy cheese with basil. The sauce was good and made the pizza. I'll be back for another pizza. The cookie and ice cream hit the spot. There was a person who looked like a manager. Seem to be doing table deliveries. Not really doing any customer service. Hard to enjoy your food when the place is so filthy dirty Was really supersized how dirty this location was. I was excited to see there was a sauce over this way now ,but not impressed on how they take care of it .so if it's this dirty where customers can see, can only imagine how dirty the kitchen was, and they are not busy at all three whole table. I'm pretty upset with how the staff handled an issue we had tonight. We got to the restaurant at 5:15. We started seeing people who got there way after us getting their food before us. I asked once and they just said they were a little behind and it would be out soon. At the half hour mark, I went up to the area where they were staging the pizzas to ask again. Turns out they had missed making our pizzas (or so I overheard in the conversation with the guy cooking). The person who checked just said "sorry, we're behind and it's going to take 10 more minutes". I don't think he realized I had heard what the guy cooking told him. I said "it's been over a half hour and we're pretty hungry". He said, "well, if you don't want it any more I can refund you - I guess". I said, we just wanted our food. He said "I guess I can offer you guys a cookie". Exactly what we wanted when we had been waiting for our dinner for a half hour - a cookie! We then waited an additional 15 minutes for our pizzas to come out. When they got there, we were shocked at what we saw. The crumbled sausage was so undercooked it was still cold and it was completely pink. See the attached picture. I brought it up front and the cookie guy said that is just what their sausage looks like. The people sitting next to us also had sausage on their pizza and it was definitely not pink at all. I said I wanted to speak to a manager and it turns out cookie guy is the manager on duty. I told him we can't eat that and we wanted a refund. After some initial push back, he said he would go refund it. It took him almost another 10 minutes to come back with the refund check for me to sign. Also, side note - while we spent the better part of an hour waiting for our food, my wife went to the restroom. She said the bathrooms were pretty gross and she felt like they hadn't been cleaned in a while. I'm not normally the type to write long complaint reviews about restaurants but this was one of the worst experiences I've had going out to dinner. We will not be coming back here and I should definitely think twice before you do too. read more

We received an email for a Pi day special of two cheese pizzas $3.14 each, so I went there around 2:00 yesterday to preorder for later in the evening. The reason I went there was because they had shut off the online ordering and when I tried calling, all you could get is a voicemail. After waiting in line for almost 15 minutes, I ordered and told the young man taking my order that I didn't want it ready for pickup until 6:15. He seemed to be unsure of how to do it on their system at first but then reassured me he figured it out. I paid and asked him again if he had it placed for 6:15 and he said yes. My son picks it up on his way home and when we opened the pizza boxes, salad and meatballs, you could tell they had sat there all day. Salad and dressing was hot, lettuce wilted, pizzas were cold and rock hard and I didn't dare try the meatballs in fear of getting food poisoning. They supposedly refunded my money and we walked away without dinner. If you're going to have such a great deal going, teach your employees how to do preorders, have someone at the phones and keep your online ordering available especially when it states in the fine print that these options are valid with this deal. Used to be a consistent favorite of ours, but last three visit were so disappointing that we're looking elsewhere. While a few employees are diligent, it seems a portion of the staff are more interested in playing around than truly caring about customer service and experience. Overall quality has plummeted. The pizza ingredients have been unevenly portioned and distributed. The tables not bussed in a timely manner. And for some reason, even though I remind while ordering that I want the warm dinner roll and butter with my salad, it's not served and I need to go to the counter to ask for it. I have loved Sauce since the first time I went to one in Phoenix. I usually make it to this location every few months as a part of my rounds at regulars favorites. My favorite dishes here are the broccoli chicken and cheese pasta and the Caesar salad pizza. But really all of their pastas and pizzas are delicious. I like the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly staff and the clean store. And as an iced tea snob, I am pleased to say that they have some great flavors, including the cactus blossom. I've had the pleasure of dining at Sauce in Rivulon as well as ordering for carryout. Sometimes, I'll order for 20+ people when catering a business luncheon. First and foremost, Jennifer is on top of her game! She always ensures proper protocols are practiced to keep her customers safe. Also, when I pick up an order, everything is well organized, hot and ready to go. Super, awesome lady! The Spicy Chicken Sausage pizza is fantastic and definately a crowd pleaser. The cookies are baked in house and taste amazing. But be careful, they're addictive! And as far as the thin crust pepperon pizza is concerned, well, I don't have words to describe it. Her salad was really great she said and she ate every bite. My pasta was good and the meatballs were wonderful! It is all about the sauce! So far sauce pizza and wine is the most satisfying pizza place I've found in Phoenix. I always get the thin crust pizza with pepperoni, mozzarella, and black olives. I love their pastas as well and their salads. The ingredients taste fresh which is why this place stands out. You can also order wine, beer, and a range of teas in soft drinks. With the thin crust pizza you can literally eat an entire pizza in one sitting. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

My go to is always the prosciutto and fig pizza! One time they forgot the arugula but made up for it the next time I visited. I went here with my co-worker and she tried to kill me; as we shared a salad (she forgot to order the salad without nuts). The gentleman overheard us joking and he immediately offered to make a new one. In all honesty, I was ok with it as it looked like they were just sprinkled and not tossed in the salad. He urged me not to risk it and took the salad and came back with a new one. The manager on duty came to apologize. I assured her it was no one's fault BUT my co-worker that has a bounty on me. I don't recall her name but the cashier (has red hair) she always compliments me and shares a HUGE smile. We like the convenience of Sauce for its good food and vicinity to our house so we have frequented this location for as long as they've been open. But today, at 8 pm we went for dinner after flying in from out of town and the place was filthy. We had to look for a table that was clean. They remained dirty for at least 20 minutes. In an eating establishment, cleanliness ranks as high as food quality. My husband made the comment that there was no way there was a manager on site. One last thing, don't make me ask for bread. I shouldn't use this as a major sign of a less than pleasurable dining experience, but the lack of coordination at the register was very apparent. After ordering our food we found a halfway cleaned table with dirty rag streak marks across it. Some girl with pink and black hair brought us our wine only to spit it right back in the glass. The wine (Sangiovese) had obviously been left open or in a hot kitchen for sometime as it tasted like vinegar. They quickly replaced it with a much better glass of their house cab. Some of our food arrived and we dug in with hopes that it would be "good". The pasta and meatballs was bland and watery. The pasta was mushy and the meatballs reminded me of the smell of cat food. The taste wasn't a whole lot better (not that I've tried cat food, but I can only imagine). We soon realized that my son never got his pizza and since no one checked on us the entire time, I went to the counter to see where it was. After talking with a seemingly indifferent staff they realized that it was never made. In the order ticket, but never made. While waiting for his pizza, our son shared our daughters Mac and cheese (probably the only good dish we ordered) At no time we're offered a discount, free desert, or even an apology for the error. No manager or owner came to speak with us and we forked over about $50 for food I could've prepped from ready-made meals & salads from Fry's grocery store (and for a hell of a lot less)! Definitely not coming back to Sauce again. We have other options for good pizza, pasta, salads and wine in the area, so onward and upward. read more

Our experience at this Sauce was a good one. Friendly service and tasty food is always a good combination! The ordering process was fast and efficient and our food came out pretty quickly. There is a self serve drinking station with a couple varieties of tea and sodas and of course water for those of us trying to do the right thing. The dining room itself could have used a little attention which is why I'm withholding a star, but it wasn't egregious and we still enjoyed our meal and the overall experience. read more

Went in for lunch today and observed some questioning negligence. They allowed a group of 6 enter the establishment with no masks. One male in their party couldn't stop touching his face and mouth and then proceeded to go over to the silverware the employees give the tables and grab his own. That silverware was then given to other tables. A female in their party was walking around on the phone with no mask and started grabbing to go utensils and napkins from a table again contaminating items that are now going to be given away for to go orders. Just a heads up, customers notice these things and probably will not return because of the lack of enforcing something as small as a mask. read more
