Great venue and race. My first savage race was a blast. They had a lot of staff helping with parking and the check in process was fast and efficient. Their obstacles are the best! Challenging but if you conquer them, what a great feeling of accomplishment. The location at Little everglades ranch is perfect. Scenic, muddy but so much fun. It was a beautiful day weather wise but had rained the night before so a little more mud which slowed the course down. All in all, Savage is proving to be the best obstacles and most fun race I've done. They have two distances, the Blitz which is 5k and the regular race, 6+ miIes with 25 - 30 obstacles. Also they offer kids races available with a much limited distance but still with fun obstacles. read more

First time with a mud race and was super nervous, but had a fabulous time! The course is absolutely gorgeous and perfect to run. This coming from someone who hates running ... it is flat and partially shaded and not overly compacted. The distance is truly a good length for most and the obstacles were spaced apart well. Their new Hang A Rang had the only significant amount of wait and I saw lots of people wipe out just getting on and off that thing. So an addition of textured liners would be welcome there along with a few more lanes to get people through quicker. The other obstacles were fun -- a bit harder for shorter folk (I'm 5'3" on a good day - closer to 5'2"). Sawtooth was great for the first dip then I couldn't get up the second incline because I couldn't reach :(. Also rang some bells with my feet (yeah core!) because my arms couldn't reach. Found the poles impossible, but it's something to train for! Grip is the most heavily used through the entire course so make sure to work that out while training for this one! People were super nice and helping each other out - especially on the climbing ones - nothing too dangerous and didn't see any severe injuries on the trail (some minor scrapes and lots of black and blues were found the next day for me). Well organized. They did not have showers, but a collection of hoses that you could rinse yourself off with. 10$ parking. 5$ bag check (just hook everyone's bag together and you will pay just one bag check fee ;) ). Your car will go through some dirt roads so don't plan the car wash beforehand. Overall a great race and one I would do again (promise to tackle double peaks next time!) in a heartbeat. read more

Savage Race!!!!!!!!! Kicked ass! I had so much fun and proud of my sister. This was her first Savage Rave. She rocked it and so did her team. I didn't get to run the obstacles because I found out that morning by her so I did run beside her and her teM and took some great shots. I've done these races before and I've always had a great time. So seeing my sis enjoy what I've done was priceless. read more

This was my second year participating in the Florida Savage Race. I thought this year's venue was much better suited for the growing popularity of the event and the obstacles were much better placed throughout the course. I'm not a long distance runner so I enjoyed the shorter distances between the obstacles and that water was readily available every couple of miles. Great job Savages! Can't wait until next year! read more

As an observer and not an athlete it was a beautiful day and location. It was reasonably accessible for a disabled spectator...my daughter. Two things I wish they would do is develop an app that we could use the chips that the athletes are already wearing to locate them on the course. Since there is a fee to even observe it would be wonderful reason for the $25 fee. The second thing is even though this event is for athletes. One handicapped accessible port a potty at the several strips of port a potties for spectators would be greatly appreciated! Had an amazing time as a spectator and am truly motivated to be an athlete participating next year! read more

This race used to be good, but I don't what has happened. The organizers have just gotten lazy. The course was poorly designed. Several of the obstacles were so poorly built they were downright dangerous. The rope came loose on a girl in front of us and she fell and broke her nose. I would steer clear...not safe or fun. read more

I did the race in georgia recently very solid race overall. My biggest complaint though would just have to be how far out the obstacles were spaced out =( I did the one in Florida and it seemed that they were way closer together rather than all grouped at the end. But the management side runs extremely smoothly. It can be chaotic but I believe they have the process down to a T at this point read more

I haven't even run the race yet, and I am already turned off by the horrible customer service. They falsely advertised a race fee of $75, neglecting to mention the hidden fees until you get to check out. Turns out, it is more like $97, which if they had just been clear in the beginning, I may have made a different decision. To make matters worse, even though I have paid for 4 runners and given them $388, they want to charge $30 more to switch a name on one of my registrations. Ridiculous. read more
