I called about 4 times and was on hold for like 20 minutes each trying to reschedule or change my appointment because of my insurance . Well they never answered and I got a letter in the mail saying I was a no call no show and had to pay $50!!! They need to have people that actually likes working and likes answering the phone im not paying $50 because they didn't answer. read more

Came in for a Tramatic Brain Injury and told the doctor about the tremors I had from the blunt force of the hit I took. An was told I needed therapy for the incodent that happened wtf... oh an given steroids that potentially can cause more damage especially for TBI's . Oh an got a referral for a MRI which wasn't done until two weeks later cause they fail to do it themselves and I had to call regarding this. An can't be seen till March 13th for the results of the report ...this place is horrible please seek help elsewhere. read more

They book my follow up appointment right before my MRI scan appointment and don't tell me. When I get there they cancel the appointment on me. A year later they send me a bill for a missed appointment. But when they miss an appointment on me, I don't bill them. This place has unacceptable customer service. Apparently it is okay for them to cancel on me but I cannot cancel on them. read more

Not sure if the staff just doesn't care or they are just incompetent. I will not be returning after what I thought was a thorough first visit with Dr. Donahue. Below I have included a copy of a letter I addressed to Dr. Donahue and hand carried to the office and left with a staff person on 9/25/25. To date no prescription was faxed to the VA nor have I heard from anyone at the practice. September 24, 2025 Dr. Donahue, I am reaching out to you in writing since contacting your office via telephone has been terribly frustrating and unproductive to date. Without going into every detail my experience to date has been attempting to have the initial medication you prescribed sent to the VA because of the cost if filled at the Publix pharmacy. I have left two voicemail messages with Melissa and have not received a reply to either one. My wife, a retired RN took it upon herself to negotiate a 120-tablet deal that she felt was reasonable to get me started on the meds on 9/8. Today after unsuccessful attempts on my own to set up a patient portal account and try reaching you via that method I have run into another roadblock. I called the office at 10 AM and was told my account was set up and I informed them when logging on from the Neurological Associates website I only have access to my existing Urological Associates of Savannah account. They said I needed to speak with the individual at extension 6463 and transferred me, I left a message explaining my situation. It's now 5 PM and I have no reply to my message. Savannah Neurology Specialist is the best! Dr. Hemphill, PA Wallet, the Ccm nurses Sue and Stephanie are the best! I know they are busy and most times the wait (to even get to the front desk) is massive but it's worth it! Dr.Hemphill, Wallet, Ccm Nurses(Stephanie and Sue) take time with each patient and that is why the wait is long. I am a new patient. I have been trying to get an appointment for a nerve test at SJC and then at Savannah Neurology. I got an appointment in May with SJC. When the order was finally sent to Savannah Neurology I talked to a lady by the name of Keona. Of all the people that I talked to since this process began Keona was the most helpful. When she received the order she called me back in a very timely manner (the same day the order was received). Keona set me up to come in for the test within a week. She was so helpful, nice and she did what she said she would do. She gave me faith in the system if the right person helps. Doctors need more people like Keona in the administrative positions. She was the only one who seemed to care. read more

My appointment was 9/27/23. Dr Hemphill ordered a new prescription and a wheel chair for me. later that afternoon my nurse said you can not take this medication because of it contradicts with another medicine I take. she called the office right away. to date she has not heard from anyon. I have called numerous times my self. Finally I got a hold of someone who said she didn't know I took this one medicin, odd because I typed up my list of drugs I take and the medication was second on the list. as far as the wheel chair goes still nothing. I had an appointment this past Monday for an mri and needed to cancel the Friday before due to no wheelchair. Dr Hemphill is very good but his staff must go. let's see if they read this review. read more

I first met Dr. Hemphill after suffering a thunderclap migraine and being taken to the ER. Dr. Hemphill was actually very nice in the ER and gave me some hope that I'd be able to live a better life alongside my migraines. The first time I went to Neurology Associates, I was a little surprised. None of the staff in the waiting room was friendly or smiling or even attempting to look like they wanted to be there. I was shocked that the friendly doctor I met worked there, but figured that they probably saw a lot of sick people and that that could be upsetting. After my first visit, I continued to go as scheduled but never actually met with Dr. Hemphill, it was always one of the other certified women from his office. I did not usually see the same person twice and so it was a lot of file review and repetition, which made me feel as though no one really understood or cared about my overall care. We tried several rounds of medication and physical therapy in order to find a combination that somewhat worked. When I reported that the last medication they gave me for daily use rendered me completely unable to function, they just suggested I take it in whatever quantity and at whatever time felt best...(so, not at all like the actual prescription that they wrote...?!) The last time I went to the office, I actually met with Dr. Hemphill, along with a rotating resident. My appointment was scheduled for 10am. I wasn't seen until 11:45am, and had to take the initiative to ask twice if i needed to reschedule. After waiting for an hour and 45 minutes, I never received an apology for the wait, which now not only made me late for work but also ate into my vacation time, as I'd already used my allotted hour for lunch. Dr. Hemphill reviewed my chart, seeing that I still suffered a migraine a month. He then asked, "you take time off for these? Wow. What do your co-workers think of that?" And laughed. I found this highly insulting from someone who is supposed to understand the impact migraines have on people's lives. When I responded that the ADA paperwork "HE" (it was his assistant) filled out explaining my condition truly didn't give anyone much of anything to talk about, he responded "oh." He then looked disappointed at the medications they'd try to no avail and said, "well, you've failed everything we've tried to give you." And then asked why I was being "so stubborn" about trying Botox. When I told him that having 6 needles stabbed into my face for results that only seemed to hep some of those that take it, he simply responded "well, we have success with it." I asked him about some of the other options I had discussed with someone from his office on my previous visit - things like magnesium deficiency - and he scoffed, almost disgusted. He said if I wanted to go "that route" that he had some paperwork somewhere that I could read. He abruptly left the room and came back with a crooked photocopy that was so dark I couldn't read it. He was clearly unimpressed with my curiosity into some of these more natural methods, even though it had been someone from his office suggesting I look into it, as she herself had see results. Again, I was confused and concerned by the lack of consistency, not to mention respect, during my visits. At the end of the appointment, he concluded that "so seeing you don't want Botox, we'll just keep giving you the same prescription..." and left the room. No thank you, no hand shake, no other ideas, despite being obviously surprised that I was still having a migraine a month. That was the last time I went to Neurology Associates. The questions about my co-workers, the obvious disdain for outside options, the disregard for not only my time, but my feelings, was enough for me. I'm seeking out other neurological talent in Savannah where they actually at least read the notes before coming in the room and where everyone in the front office doesn't look like they want to kill themselves. This place doesn't care about you or your care. Move on. read more

The appointment specialist was speed speaking and when I tried to ask her to repeat a key part of the message she very rudely told me not to interrupt her so she could continue to speed speak until she was finished. It's like this whoever I seem to reach there and I've learned to dread having any communication with their front desk. There have also been way too many times that Walgreens cannot reach them about a prescription and they insist they've contacted Walgreens but haven't. They appear understaffed and it's taken out on the patient. read more

We moved to Savannah the summer of 2020 believing Savannah would be a wonderful place to relocate and retire. Very foolish of us to not look at Healthcare here - HORRIBLE!!! My husband was getting confused and forgetful . Our first GP winked at me and said it was probably "selective hearing". Our 2nd GP referred us to Savannah Neurology. - When I share our experience with this facility, people are shocked! Our 1st visit was Nov 3, 2022 - shortly followed by cognitive testing at a different facility ,then an MRI on11/14/2022. We received a phone call saying the results from the MRI showed nothing abnormal or to be concerned with. Months went by with some issues that required our attention. It finally occurred to us that we had never received the results from the cognitive testing. WE called on May 1, 2023 to inquire and were told we could come in on May 30,2023- an entire month later. At that time the psychiatrist who had given the testing, came into the room to tell us my husband had dementia. When I asked why we had not received these results earlier - he blamed it on Savannah Neurology. I then called Savannah Neurology demanding an appointment immediately. We went in on June 2, 2023. The NP - Shelby - came into the room and said - "You have Alzheimers". Of course my response was, why hadn't someone gotten back to us with this diagnosis since she was delivering a death sentence for my husband along with a life altering disease that requires allot of planning. -Her response- we're short staffed!! Alzheimers is a very time sensitive disease- Savannah Neurology lost us 7 months!! I then took my husband to Hopkins to get a definitive diagnosis, as I did NOT trust the diagnosis received by SN. Unfortunately the diagnosis was correct but at this point, he was at the "moderate "stage so he has been unable to qualify for a number of clinical trials!! I demanded to see an actual doctor - Dr. Donohue came into the room asking why we were there and couldn't even look us in the eye - HORRIBLE attitude acting like a petulant child! Our LAST visit was on 7/13/2023. The NP - Shelby- was excited to share with us a clinical trial that my husband would qualify for. He passed the oral exam given over the phone. We were actually excited but - I called the office numerous times to ask when the trial would begin- no return call? I then called Savannah Neurology and someone told me they didn't know anything about the trial since it was "upstairs "- I asked if Shelby could contact me - NOTHING!!! AGAIN - they're short staffed and very busy????? No wonder they're short staffed - a very caustic and toxic environment After losing 7 months and receiving no real care or direction - I now drive to JAX for THE Mayo - such an amazing place - REAL healthcare where they genuinely care and treat all patients with concern, respect , besides being extremely thorough and always POLITE and respond to all questions and concerns!!! I believe Savannah is becoming another retirement town and will need a reputable, qualified and caring Neurology office. BTW - my husband is fairly young with NO history of this horrible disease in his family. My recommendation - if need a neurologist - go ELSEWHERE - the drive will prove worthwhile! read more

I was spoken to aggressively by the appointment specialist because she would not take the time to fully understand what I was stating. Mis-communication was taken place but she aggressively continued to over speak to me without listening and then tried not to make my appointment because she became upset.. i appreciate my doctor and all he does but the staff can ruin your relationship with how you feel... you can love and appreciate your doctor but hate going to the office due to staff..Do better appointment specialist. A new "doctor" (donahue) took over for Dr. Greenberg and he took over with botox injections on me for facial spasms. First time I saw him he injected me in different areas that the previous 2 doctors had not injected me before. When I told him about it he seemed to take it personal and that's where his attitude started showing. He also did not cleanse the areas he injected me. The first time I let it go but on my 2nd session I mentioned it to him and told him that the previous doctors ALWAYS applied alcohol on the injection areas. He must have thought I was telling him I was telling him how to do his job but I wasn't. His staff informed me via a phone call that he would no longer be treating me. He sent me a letter dated 10 March and I received it today, April 21st. I would NOT recommend him to anyone. read more

Turns out I needed brain surgery and not a life time of pills and botox. I came in with facial spasms and was told that there was nothing that could be done except prescriptions and botox injections. After leaving my face looking like I had a stroke I was able to get an MRI and MRA to send to my neurosurgeon. Two follow up appointments, one for the MRI and another for the MRA and they never even bothered to explain the extent of what was wrong. I had severe vascular compressions on the 5th, 7th and 8th cranial nerves caused by the vertebral artery and the ICIA. No amount of prescriptions or botox injections will ever help with the pain from that. I was given no hope in this office, and was told I would have to live with this for the rest of my life. I had surgery for this in January and am now fully healed and back to my normal self. Word to the wise, find somewhere else to go. read more

I have been a patient with this office since 2006 and have had 5 different doctors in the same office with no relief from migraines. ( The doctors did retire, I did not change) I had brain surgery in 2006 from an AVM but still had migraines after the surgery. I have had headaches since I was 13 years old and was given prescriptions of Fioricet with codeine to be taken for pain. All the doctors I have seen agreed that I needed pain meds. These worked so it was continued. Now I am given preventative meds and shots that sometimes take care but I have breakthrough pain that is debilitating so all I can do is lie down. I know the government is against opioids but since they have worked my history would show it. I did have a urine test to show if too much was in my body and of course going to the hospital the day before, I was showing some in my blood so I supposedly a "druggie", I was given 2 shots of an opioid plus another med before being released plus a prescription of oxycodiene to relieve the pain. Of course after all that I would show with drugs in my system. I really wish that they would treat me and not worry about government and overdoses. If I have not overdosed since being 13 I surely am not looking for a "high" at 60. I just want something that would at least dull the pain. I really think that the doctors have never had migraines so they think we just want drugs. If I really wanted drugs I could find them on the street. Ease my pain and care for me and listen - I am the patient and we are all different!! read more

After waiting for a long time to see the VA doctor, we decided to reach out to Savannah Neurology to schedule an appt for our dad. They got him in relatively quickly. He was seen by Dr. Hemphill and had an MRI, EMG, diagnoses and treatment all within a month. The visit was timely and seamless. He's had two phys rehab visits at home and is feeling and walking much better already. We can't say enough good things about the team at Savannah Neurology! read more

I made an appointment to see Dr. Greenburg. I had to wait 45 days to even see him due to their scheduling. I took the appointment. But first I confirmed they accepted my insurance, in which they did. Today is my appointment, that again I have waited over a month an a 1/2 for and they call me to tell me they no longer take my insurance. So now I have to wait another month and a 1/2 to see another doctor. Why wouldn't someone call me PRIOR to me having to wait all this time. But they were so kind to tell me I can pay out of pocket. No apology from the doctor for wasting my time either. Is there a -star rating? :( read more

Wish that Dr's wouldn't over-schedule patients. We always have an hour wait in the lobby, then an additional hour in the patient room. Very difficult for a little one to wait that long in such confined space. We always schedule a month in advance and every time it is to wait at least two hours to see her doctor. read more

I have been going to this practice for 3 years and the treatment and appointment scheduling I have received have been atrocious. Avoid Dr. Jessica Carter, she does not care about her patients and will only see a patient once or twice a year. I was told to make a follow up visit for February 2019, and it was pushed back all the way to September 2019. None of my conditions have been treated and Dr. Jessica Carter is openly dismissive of my concerns. I will never go back to this practice after my appointment was pushed back 7 months and I do not recommend anyone go here, especially not to Dr. Jessica Carter. However, the office staff and nurses are helpful and courteous. read more

This is the first of a chain of negative responses which I intend to provide through numerous means. I had a long standing appointment scheduled with Dr. McGregor for December 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM. I arrived shortly before 1:00. I waited as the patient before me at the check in desk finished, then, when called, proceeded to the counter and gave my name and stated my appointment time. Without any response from the receptionist, she looked at her computer, then asked my birth date, which I gave. Again, without comment (and no eye contact), the receptionist returned to the search of her computer screen, and then informed me that I had called in and cancelled my appointment because "my car wouldn't start". I was surprised by this information, as I certainly I had not called in to cancel the appointment for that or for any other reason. I stated that if I had called in to cancel then I would not be there. I asked if she was sure she had the right person's computer entry. This was met with "It says here that you called in to cancel because your car wouldn't start; there is nothing else available for this afternoon." My response was that it really didn't matter, as I would be finding another neurologist. There was never an expression of regret or any possibility of an error on the part of the practice. As stated by a previous reviewer, my low rating has to do with this receptionist and not with the physician. I have had several visits with Dr. McGregor and have always found him to be caring and informative with regard to my medical history and needs. But the physicians in this practice need to know how the office staff treats patients. I came there for compassionate treatment and care. I left insulted by a rude and inconsiderate emloyee. If the office staff hasn't been to customer service school, the practice shoul;d make that prerequisite to employment. I will not return to this practice. I don't need this kind of treatment at a doctor's office or anywhere else. read more

Long wait; unaccommodating, unfriendly office staff: My low rating has to do with the office staff, not the MD. I thought that the MD did a good job, however the staff wasn't accommodating and initial wait time in the lobby for the appointment was over an hour, then on to the interior room for another long wait. After the appointment to the lab for a blood draw. The Tech was not able to draw blood and told me to just bring the patient back at any time for the blood draw, and to just come to the lab; no wait. Which was good to hear because the patient is severely disabled in a wheelchair. So, I thought that I had better call instead of just showing up with the patient, but they kept putting me on hold. I was on hold for so long, that I drove across town and was waiting in line at the Dr's office, and remained on hold until after I talked to the receptionist/staff member at the front desk. I told the receptionist about being on hold for so long, and she replied that they have been getting complaints about that. I told her that the Lab Tech had told me to bring the patient back and to not wait and just go straight to the lab. She replied that the Lab Tech was at lunch until 2:00pm, so I said that I would be back with the patient after 2:00. I arrived back at the Dr office a few minutes after 2:00, but now the same receptionist told me that I could not take the patient back to the lab. So, I reminded her that the Lab Tech had told me to bring the patient back to the lab. The receptionist insisted that she would need to regenerate the lab paperwork, and we would have to wait in the lobby. After waiting another 30-40 minutes, with no update from the lobby staff, I got up and asked if I could schedule an appointment. The same receptionist/staffer said, no, because we don't make appointments for lab work. At that point I told her that the patient was not going to be able to continue to wait indefinitely. She offered absolutely no accommodation or offer to go see how much longer we would have to wait. So, I just thanked her and told her that we would have to explain to her Dr during the next appointment why the lab work wasn't completed. read more

My first visit was great with barely any wait time in the lobby. The staff was very understanding that I lost my initial paperwork and it did not delay my appointment at all. Every person I was in contact with was pleasant. When I called back to sort out a prescription question later, I was surprised to get an actual human on the phone who listened carefully. I would give 0 stars for this so called doctor. There are so many reasons to not go to this man and to me his PA had more knowledge than he did. The PA, she was much more helpful and actually listen to my main problems. Dr. Hemphill was treating me for a month and during this time I was not at work due to multiple issues that could cause death or injury to myself or my co-workers, yet Dr Hemphill refused to fill out my FMLA paperwork. This was not workman's compensation or anything like that! This was a safety issue for myself and co-workers but this man refuse to listen as he ordered test after test. Once they suspected that it was probably not neurological and more of a spinal issue, Dr Hemphill tossed me to the side like garbage probably because he wouldn't be able to make anymore money off of me. I had to explain to my job and FMLA how rude this doctor was, as well as why he wouldn't fill out simple paperwork to send in so I would not lose my job!! I should have went to the neurologist that the emergency room doctor recommended but I went to Dr Hemphill because he was closer to Richmond Hill that my wife made an appointment for me to try to fix what was going on in my head. I work on heavy machinery called an AIRCRAFT but I guess he doesn't care if I get killed or if I kill others as long as he gets paid!!! I am very disappointed in this so called doctor and I recommend that every person go to a real doctor that will actually take care of you and your needs. read more
