I seem to have visited this Safeway at an awkward time where they are transitioning ownership to Sobeys.. So they still have the Safeway Club Card sales and savings, except they no longer accept Safeway club cards.. Talk about contradictions. On the plus side, they now accept airmiles reward miles cards The deli section is expansive and of high quality, the staff are friendly, and many are old faces that have been there for years and years. I always give extra points to any business that has long term staff because if a business takes good care of their employees, then you know as a customer you will be taken well taken care of as well

If they did not have the exact item I was looking for, they always had something comparable. Long line-ups does not exist long before an additional till was opened. A few years after they were bought out the quality started to decline. If you went in first thing in the morning you ran into empty shelves. Sometimes items were out of stock for weeks. Self checkouts are often closed. Customers with a few items have to wait in line behind customers with cart loads of groceries. I enjoy the products offered for sale at the deli counter but find their staff not the easiest to deal with. Staff members have seen customers approach and then rush into the back to avoid having to serve them. When serving customers some staff members fail to smile and complain about how short staffed they are.

They actually carry a…read morereasonable selection of cheeses and some other products, including gluten free products and non-dairy beverages, but there are definitely a few things lacking. There's a post office and a pharmacy in here, plus lots of help to get your groceries to your car. I usually go here with my 80-something grandmother, so it's really handy to be able to get all those things done under one roof.

I suppose they have all moved to the newer location. It's too bad because I never make it to that side of town. I may have to start though as I find the lack of knowledge and friendliness from the downtown staff really grating. They also seem really unorganized.
