$6.00 latte hidden under a half cup of foam.
    John S.

Disappointing to see what this café has become in recent years. No longer is it a cherished neighborhood gem, packed on weekends and buzzing with energy. I regrettably gave this place another chance, only because the recent ownership changes at Owlbear Café are tough to see, so expectations were already low walking in. I soon discovered the latte I ordered turned out to be 50% foam and had a comparable flavor to coffee brewed at the Circle K gas station a few blocks away. I assume the blueberry danish was from a batch baked the day prior since it was the furthest thing from tasting fresh. Hopefully someone can come in and return this place to the delicious food and ambiance it used to be.

Loved it! First time here. Not my last. My breakfast here was fabulous. I got the galette Norwegienne. Very delicious. Reminds me of France. The crepe was nice and crisp the Boursin was delicious alongside the smoked salmon. Also ordered a lovely pain au chocolat. Nice buttery, crisp, flakey layers. I strongly suspect the chef is French as the last time I had a galette and croissant this good was in France.

The staff was very personable. Was shocked it wasn't busier, this must be something of a hidden gem. French toast was INCREDIBLE and the coffee blew me away. would absolutely return.

We stayed the night in Mt Pleasant and came here on our way out after having lunch at OwlBear hoping to indulge in some French pastries and coffee as a sweet delight. We ordered two pastries and a cappuccino and all three were terrible. Honestly, I was stunned. I bit into the pictured dessert called Papa something and it was dry, stale and so bland it was like a cardboard box trying to be a dessert. The cappuccino tasted like cigarettes and was simply awful. The tea selection is nothing special and at a place that specializes in French pastries some higher quality teas would be appropriate. It seemed like none of the pastries were fresh, at least a day old and pulled out of a freezer. They did exchange the Papa dessert for the Paris Brest and it was not good. I've eaten in patisseries in Paris and Rome and various U.S. locations and can say this rivaled the soy pastries in Okinawa that look beautiful but taste bad. Perhaps their lunch is where it is at. As for the service, the people were friendly but one of the employees smelled of cigarettes so that was not helpful either. Ambiance- nothing special. It's clean so that was appreciated. We left not finishing our coffee or pastries so sadly we had to give one star and that was for the kind employees.

Huge selection of fresh made pastries. Loved the food. Good service. Will return if we're ever back in the Charleston area.

This cafe has a very interesting vibe. The lime green walled and chairs do not really align with the whole French elegance and high quality food vibe they have going on otherwise. The French music was so soothing and I enjoyed listening to it while I worked. They do have some nice seating options both inside and outside. The things that turned me off: the Wifi barely/inconsistently works. There was pee in the toilet and on the seat, and no paper towels to dry my hands. And the dishes were overflowing in the bin where you return your glasses and plates for a good bit. Luckily by the time we finished our coffee, it had been emptied.

Overall: Great bread, great desserts, and great service! Couldn't ask for much more from a French cafe. The good: My wife and I needed a place to work remotely during COVID and the nearby Starbucks didn't have seating open yet. Saveurs seemed to be the best bet and we're glad we tried it out. The iced coffees were great, as were the baguette sandwiches and desserts we tried. The sandwich bread is crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside - just what you look for in a quality baguette. The opera cake was layered diligently and was a perfect blend of cafe and chocolate flavors. The staff was wonderful as well; they didn't mind that we had our laptops out and hung around all day (and some of a second day also!). Plenty of seating both inside and out. The not-so-good: The food prices are on the higher side, and the coconut cake we tried was good. However, it was one-note in comparison to the flavor variations of the opera cake. Food/drink: 9/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 10/10

The food and service here is incredible. The London Style Sandwich is probably one of my favorite sandwiches to get around here. The sweet and savory crepes are definitely a must try for new customers too! Such a cute place, our server Maria was so wonderful and kind, she really went out of our way to give us such an amazing experience! Go check this place out:)

While the café isn't officially pet friendly indoors, we've brought Luna inside with us just to place our order, and no one has ever said anything. If you're looking to sit and eat, there's a very cute (though small) porch area out front. Despite the limited seating, we've always managed to find an open spot during our visits. What I didn't realize until more recently is that they actually have a huge patio in the back as well. It's such a great space and gives you a lot more room to sit and relax. They even have a lift in the back area for disabled accessibility, which I thought was really great to see and not something you find everywhere. Always love the coffee here -- great flavor, consistent quality, and a spot we'll definitely keep coming back to.

I knew that I didn't have an option. But I talked to Google and I discovered Opie Drive-Thru Grocery. I was able to place an order and my husband went to Mount Pleasant (1 hour and 7 minutes away from Santee) to pick up the groceries. I prepared our Christmas dinner and it was possible because of Opie Drive-Thru Grocery. Placing the food order was a snap and although there were some items that weren't available, I had those staples in my pantry and fridge. My husband said that picking up our items was a great experience as the young man who assisted him was very friendly and professional. All I can say is that Opie Drive-Thru Grocery saved my Christmas dinner. We could have been eating ham sandwiches and potato chips but instead we dined on homemade lasagna and a garden salad. For a first, this was an awesome experience. Drive-Thru groceries. What a grand concept!

We were visiting my mother-in-law in the hospital, so we shared with her and visiting family, I will talk about the ones I did try. The chocolate croissant was textbook with a shine on the pastry itself and loads of thin crispy layers and just the right amount of dark chocolate. The Weltons Honey Pie was one of their signature items that they traveled to South America to learn how to make. It reminded me of a light honey flavored cheesecake but denser. The dark chocolate chip cookie will live on in my dreams! Plenty of dark chocolate chips in a thick lightly chewy cookie and sprinkle with sea salt. Oh my! I could eat a dozen easy! Switching to savory we tried the Hot Honey croissant with Soppressata , ricotta and hot honey. Like all their croissants it was super crispy and flaky and reminded me of an Italian sandwich. A great choice if you aren't wanting sweet. But for my wife and I our favorite was the blueberry kolache. Loaded with blueberries and a brown sugar cornmeal crumb it simple melted in our mouths.
