You can play American pool or regular pool for as long as you want at a set price per hour. I usually go in the middle of a week day with friends and it is completely quiet in there! It's a shame that it doesn't do that much business in the day because the quality of the tables is brilliant! It can get quite busy in the evening but the prices do go up. You usually have to put down a £10 deposit when booking a table but it usually costs £3 an hour but sometimes less. I payed £1.80 for plenty of games! If you have nothing to do in the afternoon and fancy a pool game or five, then Sunny's pool bar is the place to go. They offer a wide variety of drinks and even a choice of some foods. Bargain!

The place is normally quite empty when I go to play and the clientele seem to be 18 year old boys for the most part (and they are well-behaved). The pool tables have seen better days and should probably be refelted, and you should definitely bring your own cue as theirs are warped beyond belief! Staff is difficult to find on occasion.

A dated, and slightly decaying exterior is matched by a stair well, decorated by retro, faded framed photos of ex-snooker players. Access to the snooker hall is not wheelchair friendly, which is a major negative mark against this establishment. When entering the hall through the heavy swing door, the smokey and frankly quite seedy atmosphere is hardly a surprise given the stair well and exterior. With the only light coming from the lamps which shine brightly over the bright green cloths of the tables, the almost surreal atmosphere does make for quite an enjoyable time if you embrace yourself in experience. Those serious about playing snooker and pool will probably have no trouble with the type of atmosphere here, and will be accustomed to the surroundings. The tables are in good condition and there are a large number of cues available to those who dont bring their own.

It's still fairly pubish though. There's a bar sky sports and this isn't a bad just to come for a drink, especially as its a bit less rowdy than most places on and around Park Street (not that this is particularly hard). Drink prices aren't bad at all either if you can find the special deals. I like Rileys, it's nice to have somewhere where you can get a decent game and I would play all the time if it wasn't for the prices and the demand of membership fee. If I'm desperate for a quiet game I'll just head to a pub on a weekday afternoon or some other quiet time.

Although a temporary appointment, we inevitably ended up coming here a lot for a short period. If you're looking for a certain night, it has everything you need. There are a good twelve American pool tables in the along with a few smaller versions in the main room. This means that you always can grab a table, no matter what time of night you decide to show up. This place is open 24 hours, so if you bowl out of a club at three and are feeling competitive, this is your place. They also serve food through the night, so it's the ultimate 'after club game of pool burger and chips' in Bristol city centre. There's other things that would only interest the interested, like a snooker room, poker tables and the option for poker nights, Worzel staff, pool queues, chalk and bags for hire, locals and yocals in bifocals. Although the place doesn't deserve a top rating as it's pretty bland and chain like, it definitely doesn't deserve less than a three because it serves a purpose and I have always had good nights there if I've been looking for that sort of thing. You have to sign up as a member though, so that's worth knowing. Take an extra fiver if you wanna play.

There are pool tables which are in pretty good condition and are only 50p a game, though it does get busy so I would say go earlier if you're looking for a quiet game. It's a great place to go on any day of the week, though. It tends to get a bit busier from about 8/9 onwards so if you're looking for a relaxing drink I'd say get there early or go to a pub.

This is one of my favourite places to go for music in Cardiff, especially on a Thursday night. They have a regular 'jam session' and you'll be amazed at the variety. But its not cliquey - not by a long shot. One evening whilst sitting supping on a pint, from a pint glass that was pint glass shaped, at a pub table, I heard the jam session give way for a regular who had been learning the piano. She played the Entertainer. Ok, she wasn't brilliant and it was a bit halting, but I've never heard such applause! Everyone in the bar supported her, fully, and there was no judgment. It was like being in a dream, a cultural oasis, a picture of how society should be. Oh, and did I mention the covers bands? I knew it was the pub for me when I heard a band covering the Velvet Underground. Brilliant! (But just be warned before you head to the ladies - and maybe take your own loo roll)

Great bar/pub in Cheltenham with a very friendly local feel…read more The Feathered Fish is very spacious with a mixture of tables, sofas, outdoor high top tables and even a snooker/pool table in the back. The Bartender was really friendly and offered me samples of a couple of beers before I made my selection. The Feathered Fish has a number of local beers as well as your more normal options, a large wine selection and a great looking food menu. We actually enjoyed this place so much that we had a drink before dinner, went to dinner around the corner, and then came back for some after dinner drinks. Did notice a sign for their full Sunday Lunch special for £6.50, reason enough to come back!
