Most weddings require flowers. I could definitely do the whole fake flowers route, but I'm not that guy. Now would I cut that corner? Being it one of the closest proximity from my house, we started with talking to Stan about what we're about to do. We told him it was our first time and he literally walked us through step by step by step on what we need and what is going to happen. It was the end of the summer season when we drew up the initial paperwork. He also told us to come back towards October so we can see the seasonal flowers that he can work with during our wedding date. Fast forward to the day before the wedding. We got the bulk flowers we ordered to fill the center pieces. They were really nice. Also the girls bouquets and boutineers were as perfect and as beautiful as could be. I can not find words enough to say how wonderful Kim was. My boyfriend and I live in California and were in need of a florist when his beloved Uncle passed. The order, which cost $250, was for a funeral arrangement in honor of my deceased sister-in-law. What was made and delivered was nothing like what was ordered. The arrangement that I ordered was supposed to have mainly bright pink and soft pink roses with a few purple and lavender flowers in the mix. The picture posted on the flower shop named it "Forever Cherished Crescent Spray." What was delivered to the funeral home was nothing like what was ordered. (I have pictures of what was ordered and what was delivered and would gladly post them if there was a way to do so.) It contained all purple flowers, many of which were droopy. Nothing like the picture...expect for the height and width of the arrangement. I called my local flower shop to report my disappointment in what was delivered to the funeral home in Allen Park. They subsequently followed up with Say it With Flowers. I was told that the staff/manager at Say it With Flowers was offended that there was a complaint; that the florist used his/her artistic flair. I am so disappointed with Say it With flowers. In fact, this is an email I sent to them explaining how I felt after their services that I sent to them and I NEVER received an email back. No response, when all I wanted was an explanation and/or a simply apology. What horrible customer service. What was sent: "I confidently chose Say It With Flowers as my wedding vendor for multiple positive reasons one including referrals. Throughout the months we were planning our wedding details, I spoke with Stan as well as other employees on more than one occasion in regards to my vision for the flowers I wanted on my wedding day. I even went as far as printing pictures of the EXACT flowers I wanted to replicate and handing them over for your shop to keep for reference. I felt everyone understood my vision. Come my wedding day, my flowers were NOTHING as we had spoke about. I asked for blush flowers, I received pink. I said no lilies even though you Stan suggested lillies, I received lilies. I told you I don't like lillies at all. I asked for astilbe for men's corsages and in all arrangements, I received babies breath. I didn't get ANY astilbe in any bouquet or centerpiece. And that's what I was looking forward to in my flowers. This is a few examples to say the least. It's a good thing my photographer edited photos and it made the pink look blush. For the reasons above and so much more, I am VERY disappointed with how my flowers turned out. Flowers mean so much on a wedding day, and the vision I had seeing them for the first time was ruined. This is not something I should have to feel. I paid $2,400 dollars. Can I ask how this happened? When there were pictures? And all details written out in front of me? I stopped by Say It With Flowers hoping to buy some daffodils for my mom. As soon as I walked into the store an employee glared at me and walked away. I browsed the refrigerator area for the daffodils, when the clerk behind the counter, who was very friendly, asked if I needed help. I told her what I was looking for, and before the friendly clerk could answer, the employee that glared at me just said "Nope!". I actually had spotted some pretty yellow tulips in the fridge and had planned to buy those if there were no daffodils, but after that employees rude response I walked right out of the store. I think it's kind of funny that a sign on the door asks for customers to be patient and kind to the staff because they are working so hard. Well, I think that's a two way street - how about a little kindness and patience for the customers? If you can't be kind, how about just not be rude? I will never go back. read more

After a recent surgery someone from my church sent a flower arrangement from 'Say It With Flowers' in Allen Park which was hideous. I received what I would call a funeral arrangement with the typical triangular shaped one sided arrangement one would put on a stand. Why on earth would anyone send something like this to someone who has been ill. To start, it was so large where would you put it, certainly not on a night stand or end table and being a one sided arrangement you certainly couldn't put it in the center of a dining table. It was also one of the most uncreative arrangements I've ever received. Lets plop some lilies, roses and a ton of carnations and greens together and call it good. I ended up tearing the whole thing apart and throwing out most of the greens and re-arranging the flowers in a nice vase. I know the people who sent it probably spent a considerable amount for this arrangement and I really feel they were ripped off. I'm a pastor's wife and I've made a mental note to never use this florist when the church needs to send flowers. read more

All Allen Park residents should know the owner of this store called our high school and middle school kids ad fundraisers for our children's sports teams "shit" I along with so many Allen Parkers have supported this business for years especially because this business supported our kids. So you can imagine my shock when the owner lost it on me for asking to look at my order after I asked him why the flowers were already wilted a bit and he took it went behind the freezer came back to the register and tried to shove the order back in the box without me getting to look at it. I was a little taken back by his aggression when I asked him a 2nd time to see it. I literally stepped back and asked if he was ok to which he rubbed his forehead and said "I got a hundred orders, I am frustrated, so what do you want to do? I still calmly said sir, I dont know why you are being so hostile I just asked to see the wilted flowers to see how you fixed it, I didnt ask for a refund or a replacement and I cant believe after the years I and the Allen Park community have supported this business with "NO problems" before that you would get so mad at a question I am not a florist and his response was "I support your kids shit so what" The brunnette lady who is always professional I think her name is Dawn apologized for the owner being so irate and said he doesnt handle stress well. I apologized to her if I was talking to loud but explained I felt disrespected by the owner yelling and cussing at me about our kids getting support from his business during sports seasons. I ended the encounter with the nice lady just fine and the owner still running his mouth as he walked in the back. I know we all have bad days we are human and I could have left it there but when he called our kids programs shit as comparison to his support for ours of his business that said to me maybe my community should know how this guy really feels about our kids programs and how much he actually valued our business which is to say he doesnt in my opinion or at the most the only thing he values from our community is our money to keep his doors open. Maybe people decide to go elsewhere for a while so he can see how community support matters to us and maybe he will learn to be a professional once more. read more

I went in and showed them the picture i wanted and she assured me it could be done to look like the picture even though a few flowers were out of season. I asked if i could send her the photo through email or print the picture out and she told me it was unnecessary. I walked out hesitant but them being a professional florist i wanted to believe. We picked up the flowers on Saturday and they looked NOTHING like the picture. i had to ask for the leaf that wrapped the stems as well and they seemed annoyed even though this was in the photo i originally showed. We recently used this flower shop for my fathers' funeral. The day of the viewing the flowers/casket spray was beautiful. However, when we came back the next morning for his funeral service the main flowers (stargaze lilies) in the casket spray were closed and wilted. NOT just a little, but embarrassing wilted. When my grieving mother called to complain the following day, she was only offered excuses. The excuses my mother heard were that (1) "well the funeral home rooms are kept on the cool side". Excuse me, but last time I heard...flowers are kept in refrigerators to keep them fresh. (2) Someone should have called them when we arrived at the funeral home the next day. (no time the funeral started at 12noon). (3) Someone from the funeral home should have called them. The cost of flowers for a funeral are very expensive and most people will agree they should last more than a few hours. They were delivered to the funeral home for a 1pm visitation on Wed. and were wilted by 1130am the next day. This shop offered no monetary compensation back to my mother, no store credit, NOTHING but excuses. Sorry, but I wont do business with this shop ever again. You may want to think about calling someone else for your floral needs. read more

Was very disappointed...consultation was great but when the day arrived it was a total let down. Flowers arrived late and none of the centerpieces looked like we had discussed. Especially the head table...only bright spot was the bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids flowers...they were very nice. Dawn is not just an amazing florist but person as well. They did all our flowers for my daughters wedding which was held at the Grosse Point War Memorial July, 2016. She and her staff arrived early and designed the most beautiful set up. Even the staff there commented on the loveliness of our décor and flowers. We purchased over 100 pieces of mercury glass (vases, candlesticks, etc) and Dawn recommended the types of flowers to use and how to design each arrangement. If you can don't hesitate to purchase your own containers as they will use them helping to bring down the cost of the arrangements. Some florists make you use only their own vases, etc which adds to the cost of each arrangement. The brides bouquet and bridesmaids were the most gorgeous, different and so well priced!!Dawn knows her flowers and is beyond superb in design, sweetness, and professionalism. I recommend this florist hands down as the best in price and knowledge. Getting married use them and ask for Dawn!! I will only use Say It With Flowers now for all future events!! read more
