Wow! What a great find! We ate here after shopping at Terry Costa a few doors down. I got the street tacos. It came with three tacos, rice, charro beans, taco sauce, and limes. I always get street tacos when I eat out. These are the best! So delicious! Cooked to perfection! Beans are amazing. Rice is wonderful! My daughter got the chicken fajita nachos. They were big enough to have shared between two people. She loved them. They looked so good. And she always gets nachos when we go out. Do not pass this restaurant up! The service was wonderful! The host needs a little training. Arrive on a Tuesday about 6pm. It's a decent crowd. We asked for a table outside- he states we're busy it'll be 45 minutes before you get food. Basically stating to me - don't stay! I would have thrown in why don't you grab a drink - we'll get you some chips , enjoys the night and we'll get to you as soon as we can. Sazón never disappoints!!! We have been here many times and we will always come here for good Tex mex. Located in a huge shopping area with lots of parking! Huge plus. They offer 2 sizes of their margaritas, do yourself a favor and get a bigger size. Haha It's delis. Our all time favorite is the beef fajitas. Went for a late lunch/early dinner with a coworker and treated myself to a bowl of chicken tortilla soup, pupusas, and a margarita (hey it was a Friday, ok?). Everything was super delicious, with lots of spices, including their salsa. I love that the soup comes with lots of veggies. It reminds me of On the Border's soup, except better, lol. The pupusas were absolute perfection, and it is hard to find somewhere that even serves them! My coworker ordered the fish tacos, and she said they were divine. Although its close and convenient, i would travel across town for their food. The carne asada was quite delicious as were the tacos al carbon. Chicken enchiladas my wife had were not as tasty. When rating my local spots I like to visit a few times first to give the restaurant a fair shake especially during the challenges of COVID. I say this because I don't typically give 5 stars unless I've had the opportunity to try a few dishes and be served over multiple visits. First, the food is fantastic, and has been consistently that way, mostly takeout for us lately but before COVID we would eat at Sazon. Even with the 10-15 mins steaming in a to go box the food is still excellent. Food is always seasoned and cooked well, I like spice and they are not afraid to use it if something is listed as spicy. Quality of food is always good, meats, fish, and veggies always taste fresh. My wife doesn't review but is picky and has said her food always tastes great. It's a nice quiet place to socially distance if you want to eat in, before COVID it was also pretty quiet, maybe a little busy during peak sometimes. Service has always been excellent, pretty much the same friendly 3-4 servers every time. I did notice some of the poor reviews are older, so not sure if there was a change from 2018 or 2019, but everyone has their own opinion on food. I can tell you that in my opinion this place is a gem! Please keep this good small business open by paying them a visit. read more

Went here with my family for a quick bite to eat, and ended up LOVING everything we ate. My grandma had salmon, my dad had a chimichanga, and I had the lunch fajitas. Food came out piping hot and tasted delicious. Service was quick. We were in and out in 45 minutes probably! I've also had their food once to-go and they made sure to set me up with silverware and all the condiments/sides I'd need. Food was delicious then too. We had planned to place a to go order but the service was so great, that we decided to eat in instead. Chips & salas are complementary and they chips were warm and fresh. We has queso dip for the table and there was plenty to go around. I ordered chicken enchiladas with beans and rice, and it was delicious. My husband ordered a chicken burrito and it came with black beans and rice, and he loved it. Our server was super attentive and even engaged in some small talk. An, our food came out rather quickly. Each day of the week they offer different specials. Tuesday is Taco Tuesday and there are beers on special as well. Sazon is always a good idea for a quick bite and drink whether dine in or take out. This time I opted for dine in and sat at the bar. I ordered a frozen large grand marnier meltdown margarita and veggie nachos. The veggie nachos were different this time with the addition of squash and zucchini which I enjoyed, although the sour cream and guacamole were missing this go round. The margarita was good per usual and I ordered a margarita on the rocks, hold the rocks (lol), to go. Definitely recommend giving this place a try! read more

We went here for dinner on a Saturday night. It was a bit early but the place was mostly empty, I think 3 other tables occupied. The food was competent Tex-Mex and certainly not bad, but it was ordinary and nothing special. I can get the same Tex-Mex virtually anywhere in Dallas. I am giving it 3 stars for the following reasons: 1. Margaritas lacked punch. It was happy hour so maybe they lighten up on the tequila but I felt nothing from my house frozen. On the other hand, it was only $3 so maybe they want you to drink lots of them. 2. The ambience is rather cold and sterile. Nothing really warm or inviting about this place. 3. Food is average, ordinary. My fajita nachos were just barely warm, certainly not hot. They were ok but I've had better. Chicken fajita meat did not have much flavor. There was less than one tablespoon of guac for 8 large nachos. And about one tablespoon of sour cream. Why go cheap on the condiments? The nachos did not have that much flavor so you need condiments. Wife said her enchiladas were good but nothing special. To me, the highlight of the meal was the homemade salsa and complimentary chips which were light and not greasy. Maybe from a bag? I have no reason to return. There are better Tex-Mex places much closer to home. read more

Why.. why am I just now finding this place?! I was in the search for something new, and stumbled across this place. They had happy hour & good reviews so I made my way over there. Parking is a shared lot, but plenty of space. Walked in and hand sanitizer was readily available. We were greeted and seated, and the waiter gave us tips on his favorites as well as customer favorites. Normally, I order chicken + steak fajitas, but he told me all steak was the way to go. First bite and I was in awe, it had the best smokey taste I've ever had on fajitas. The margaritas were A1 and we could feel them to say the least. Overall, this place was just great.. I was part of a small group (3 adults) between Lunch and Dinner (about 3:30) on a Saturday afternoon. Waiter greeted us warmly & knew his menu well enough to give us excellent recommendations. The Dining Room was Average & casual. My brother ordered a chicken Chicken quesadilla for appetizer & a beef Enchilada plate while his wife ordered a Chicken Taco Salad. I teased them both about their unimaginative choices, then I ordered the Carne Asada. Please believe me when I say there was nothing plain about their choices. Being family, we took samples of each others's dish. We started with their fresh made picante dipping sauce and hand made chips & tortillas which began our dining adventure on a great note. Then came their huge Quesadilla. Thick with chicken and other vegetables and herbs, served with a fresh side salad of pico, sour cream & guacamole. We were so satisfied that we almost wished we had never ordered our meal, but just gorged on the appetizer. My brother's Enchiladas were well cooked, topped with chilli con carne and fresh cheddar cheese, which hardly required chewing. The Fajita chicken on the Taco Salad was tender, juicy & richly flavorful. As good as their dinners were I think I had the best. The steak was almost 1/2 inch thick, about 7 inches long, & had been marinated 24 hours, & perfectly charred. When I took That first bite I was in Heaven; Juicy and succulent. We were so full before getting to the halfway point so the waiter brought us 3 "to-go boxes" & took it all home for dinner. We sang our praises loud and clear to our waiter and then to the Chef, Juan Chavez (who happened to be the owner.)
