I need a place to stay on my way from Phoenix to Houston. The lodge was a unique stop, but it fit the need. No frills, but I didn't need them since I just needed the basics to get some sleep and carry on my way. The bed was clean, and the shower worked. It fits the basic needs of a place to sleep. Bathroom was gross, mold and definitely got the landlord special on paint. The floors in the room were laminate and were separating at every connection. The "continental breakfast" was 2 oatmeal cream pies and a bag of raspberry muffins. Honestly should have just kept driving to van horn. read more

this place came highly recommended by a resident that lived here and told me to stay here. It had a sign on the door to call a number if no one answered I called the number several times. I also rang the front bell only to find out although the parking was empty and there wasn't any movement. She claimed that there were no rooms available. I thought that was rather odd. I never got a chance to stay here, but the surrounding premises looks so cute. I'm sad that I didn't get the chance to stay in this historic hotel. I also feel that if there was no rooms available, the note on the front door should've stated that there was no rooms available so I didn't stand outside in the cold and keep trying to call the number. It's a very desolate town so when it's dark and you don't know your surroundings and you're tired it was a bit of a inconvenience for me. read more

Owners have really done a great job updating the lodge. Bathrooms still need a little more updating, but overall it's a very nice place to stay. Continental breakfast, clean and quaint in general. Places to stay overnight are far and few out here. This is a good safe place to stay. read more

I was in the Lodge for three weeks due to work, so I think I have a pretty good view on this place. It's genuinely lots of fun. It's not like your average cooperate hotel/motel room, it's more like a little studio apartment with how well furnished it is. I had the kitchenette, and let me tell you, that came in super super handy a lot more than I thought it would. A full sized fridge, a massive microwave, a little toaster oven a two burner stove, more than enough to make basically anything you would want. You've got a large tv with access to Netflix/Prime/whatever you have an account for, I had a nice round table for working and a comfy recliner chair, I have no complaints at all. To top it off, the AC works marvelously to help cool you and the room down very quickly, or warm you up in the cold desert mornings (which really helped that struggle). One of the key things I liked the most was the, essentially, instant hot water. You'd turn on the tap in the kitchen/bathroom and it would almost instantly be hot. This isn't some place you have to let it run for 5 minutes, wasting all of that water in the desert of all places, before it actually warms up. The best features for me though were the people. The owners are super super sweet, and helpful. They've got wonderful stories for days, as do their friends. If you need to know something, or how to get somewhere, or where to get something, they know it. This place is great for anyone just driving, biking, or walking with a push cart (there were lots of all three coming and going as they traveled). But it's a great place to relax and unwind after a long hot day, not to mention how great the food is if you're lucky enough to get some burgers or pork chops fresh off the grill from Chuck and Leti. I definitely can't wait to be back, whether that be from my job sending me back out here, or me coming to use it as a sort of junction point. The lodge, and town, are in the middle of a bunch of different attractions, which makes it easy to plan out your days. You're roughly an hour and a half or less (give or take) from El Paso, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, the Marfa Mystery Lights, a Blue Origin launch site (which is where Bezos launched from), Carlsbad Caverns, and dozens of other things. You could legitimately spend weeks here and not run out of things to do, assuming you're not being worked sunup to sundown. read more

Needed to get on the road but had to stay and visit with Mr. Holder and hear some amazing stories about his service in the Army surviving 2 helicopter crashes and shared some history of Sierra Blanca's accidental bombing in WW II. Lovely, unique, historical, clean lots of good adjectives. Will keep it on my list to return. read more

I find myself in this quaint little town of Sierra Blanca and it totally reminded me of Radiator Springs in the movie Cars! I stayed a night here at this hotel and I have nothing but great things to say about it. Now, if you are looking for the Four Seasons, baby keep driving! What you will find are friendly owners who tell you some background about the town and answer whatever questions you may have, a decent price, a very clean room, and they have breakfast! I did not take pictures, but if you pull them up on Google, there is a plethora of pictures on there. The hotel looks just like the pictures! My stay was around 60 bucks and some change. I will be back to visit the town and I will be staying here. Since it's so close to Mexico, I may have to visit! read more

If you ever find yourself in need of a pleasant place to rest off the Interstate 10 freeway then the Sierra Blanca Historic Lodge is a great place to get some rest. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. I would describe this lodge as charming and each room is unique. They have a variety of different room sizes and beds available to rooms which is great if you're traveling with family. 1 King bed option 1 Queen bed option 1 Full bed option 2 Full bed option 2 Queen bed option 1 Queen and 2 Full beds 1 Queen and 1 Twin They also offer a cute continental breakfast with fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, tea, oatmeal etc. in the office where it was really nice to have a conversation with the owner and watch a little tv. I was happy to learn that they also offer free WiFi so was able to watch my favorite shows from my phone while I stayed here. They have a big parking lot next door to the lodge that's good to park big trucks and cars. I was traveling by myself as a single woman to California and I felt completely safe staying here by myself. I stayed in Room 6 which was rather large with a King bed and VERY clean. It had the most COMFORTABLE bed and pillows and that is compared to the Marriott hotel I stayed at the night before in Austin. There was also a mini fridge and microwave that came in handy. If I ever find myself in the area again I will be sure to rent a room from these fine folks again. They are good people. read more

This is a historic lodge that my family stayed at in the early 1980s, when we first moved to town. It's been remodeled, and some of the rooms (each of which is different) are still to be remodeled! It's not fancy, but the beds and pillows were very soft. The A/C works great, and kept the room cold - it's summer, so it was hot outside! There's a fridge in the room. The owners, Charles and Leti, were very friendly and hospitable! It's not like staying at a big hotel, where you don't have much time to talk to the front desk clerk! My brother and I talked for a while with Charles, at breakfast, which was more than we expected! It was very enjoyable talking with him about a wide array of local topics (of interest to us, as we are former residents of Sierra Blanca, in town for a school reunion), like we were staying with family! Elvis Presley and John Wayne once stayed here, so there's a lot of history to this lodge! The outside of our room had a hitching post and a boardwalk near the room next door, like in an old West town, and modern chairs. There's a windmill, rock-lined Desert garden, and a gazebo (which has a grill, where we were welcomed to bring meat to grill) in between the drives/parking lots! read more

This was a great place to stay. Rooms clean and good size. Owners and guests were friendly and fun! We were bicycling across the US and had ridden almost 100 miles this day. The restaurants in town were closed as it was Sunday. So they grilled steaks outside! We joined several other guests for dinner and a music jam on the new gazebo. Couldn't have been friendlier! This SB Historic Lodge is an amazing find when you need a break from the never-ending 10 Freeway. I stumbled across this great place while looking for a safe clean place on my way to Austin. I have been back since my first visit and will be my go-to stop from now on. The lodge is very clean and the rooms are spacious with everything you need. The owner, Letty, is just as nice as can be. Stay on the interstate. Not a good place to stay at all. Room prices were exceptionally high for an out of the way hole in the wall Hotel. They offered nothing including no TV, a room that was over 90° when I walked into it and after 6 hours of air conditioning it finally cools down to 80 degrees in the room and I got to sleep at about 4 in the morning. No place to put your clothes except stack them on a raw wood counter. She said the place was rustic. That was definitely an understatement. The only thing that was close to the year 2000 was the trains Blowing by across the street at every 30 minutes or so. Went to the Exxon down the street to get a sandwich from there Subway counter. Arrived at 7 exactly to be informed by a very rude person attending that I couldn't have any of the hot sandwiches because the counter closes at 7. I couldn't have missed it by more than 30 seconds but he refused to serve me a hot meatball sandwich that Subway is good for. All other eating establishments in town were closed so I had the subway fixed me a Philly cheese steak sandwich and then had to explain to the attendant how to make one. Came away the next morning with a serious stomach ache. Like I said before your best bet is to stay on the interstate to the next town. read more

We absolutely loved our stay at SB Historic Lodge. Such a warm and welcoming place to stay. I felt that my family and I were safe as well as our vehicles, I felt like the room was very clean, I slept so well in the comfortable lodge, and the service was just wonderful! This historic lodge welcomed my husband and I and our 5 little kiddos and 2 dogs! They have rooms with 3 queen beds! I'm so thankful to have found this wonderful establishment and will stop in on our next trip through. When you pull into the lodge (in the night) it's beautiful stone individual lodges (more privacy) and it's lit up beautifully with lights. Parking is easy and right in front of your lodge. Complimentary coffee, hot cocoa (with marshmallows), hot teas, and complimentary danishes, grits, and oatmeal were served in the morning accompanied by great conversation with the owners. I highly recommend a stay at this lodge. Skip the boring chain hotels and you won't regret a stay here. read more

I found this quaint little hotel in the middle of nowhere ... Was greeted with smiles and welcome.. the price was reasonable $50 + a $10 charge for Marco, my pitbull .. It was a nice thank you when I left the lady gave a big smile and a nod.. Indian style.. I would stay there again! read more

This was truly like stepping back in time. I was driving from Nevada to Florida and really enjoyed staying with Charles. I will keep this on the short list motels to stay at while driving cross country. read more
