Clean, efficient, spotless, 3 sources of caffeine, bakery, & sandwiches. The Swiss have high standards which I appreciate. A warning to lax Americans, the trains run precisely on time. Minus one star for tourist confusion. I guess they assume that everyone knows what all the numbers & symbols mean. Good luck figuring where to stand. Like other large cities, make a beeline to your seat. Behaviors you will receive scorn for: man spreading, piling your stuff on the seat next to you, otherwise hogging the empty seat. God knows what will happen to you if you litter. Some of the local stops are only announced in Swiss German. Keep a lookout for your destination. read more

Great, and the busiest train station we visited during a late evening for a transfer. The train station has clearly marked signs and displays for all connecting trains. There are a lot of food options and stores open at that time. read more

As I have discovered, the trains in Switzerland are really, really regular - about once every half an hour. That works out well because it meant that I could go for a walk around the city center, and then return to the station to catch the train. Mind you, the station isn't all that fancy, in fact it feels as if a modern building has been built on top of it. However, it is really conveniently located in the centre of town. read more

For me unfortunately half of it was under construction so it was really confusing trying to get around the station without feeling like I was a mile away from the shopping areas. It's a really great station since it offers so many amenities, and it's fairly big but as large as Zurich HB. It was super convenient located to get right into sightseeing around Bern. read more

It's a combination of train station and shopping center. There are chocolate shop, food kiosk, COOP (supermarket), alcohol shop and clothing shops. It has two outlet where you can take bus or tram. If you need to take a tram, go out via the main entrance. If you want to take a bus, get out to the side entrance. There is a area for lockers that you can store a carry-on size luggage (7-8 CHF per use or per hour.. I forgot). I thought it was expensive as I only needed 1 hour to store my bag but well at the same time, I was glad to find this place to store a big bag. read more

Great train station, really! Very big and with lots of shops and also very convenient shortcut from the tracks to the city (if climbing up the stairs and not passing through the station). Also, it is so close to the city center.. few minutes walk. I even experienced a very nice hotel, literally less than 5 minutes by foot from the train station. So go and visit Bern, transportation will never be a problem! read more
