I hadn't heard of this Teddy Roe's so we grabbed a reservation for the late evening. After getting dropped off by a car we tried to find the entrance. I'm not going to give away the trick to it but it was fun. Once inside we got our spot that we held. I didn't see a drink on their menu that I liked that was rum based, so I asked the kind bartender if they could make me one. I only asked that it be alcohol forward, but that I was good if it was a more fruity drink too. They brought me a concoction that was perfect. It's a real nice place. The ornate ceiling and the beautiful bar added to the regal vibes of the place. I would definite recommend Teddy's; it's one of the best speakeasies in town.

The room had issues: the fridge didn't work, the sink was clogged with hair and candy, and I had to unclog it myself. Cleanliness was below even basic motel standards -- not what I expected given the boutique vibe they're going for. The staff were polite but clearly not trained properly, especially around handling payments. When I checked in, they charged me $12.92 for parking. At checkout, a different staff member realized the lot was empty and tried to refund it, saying I shouldn't have been charged at all -- but instead, they charged me again. Now I've been charged twice, and despite calling twice and leaving messages, no manager has returned my call. It's a shame -- the hotel has so much creative potential, but it's not being managed properly. Zéma Vinyl Lounge: 5 stars. Hotel Zazz: 1 stars. Needs serious attention to staff training, guest communication, and basic cleanliness.

The views were nice of both the city lights and the silhouettes of the Sandia Mountains. The bar was chic. By all accounts, this place seems to be not a chain and not a franchise either, Brian G. (per your review from 12.14.2025), but an independently-founded and owned bar. When I explored the patio, it was quite windy that night, but I thought I could handle a few swigs next to the smokeless fire pits. Several seating arrangements I went to each had dirty dishes.
