Because I have to travel over an hour to his office, I didn't think it made sense to drive all the way there to tell him it didn't work and then have to schedule an MRI. So I called a couple of days before the appt. to cancel, explained why, and requested a script for an MRI. They said the doctor would call me back. One week later...nothing! And I followed up a couple of times. I have no idea why my call wasn't returned or why I couldn't just get the script. Extremely frustrating. The discomfort I have means I can't walk very far, so it's extremely important to my quality of life to get this resolved. I've given up and will start with a new doctor. In my limited experience, he seemed like a good doctor. But if you ever expect to need to contact him outside of an appointment, you'd better ask him what the secret to getting through is. I sure don't know it. Rating of 3 reflects my post-appt. experience because I think he's a good doctor.

I went for two visits, spent…read moremultiple hours there, and ended up feeling worked over like a time share sales pitch and the doctor did not make a single adjustment to ease my pain. Each time that I went for an appointment, I was made to watch a generic video about the benefits of chiropractic care and why it is important. I was also urged to bring my husband in to make the explanation of my care plan easier but I felt that it was so that they could try to "win over" another patient. I've gone to chiropractors before and I don't understand why some of them feel like they need to give to a slimy sales pitch to get you to come. To add insult to the slimy sales pitch, I was told after they took xrays and gave me a consultation that they do not take my health insurance so I was smacked with a crazy bill. My health insurance said there is no in network or out of network chiropractors, so I didn't think to check about if other medical procedures would be covered. I know the responsibility falls on me, but the staff could have also check when I made my appointment or when I arrived knowing that the consultation would incur high costs just from a customer service standpoint. During my second appointment, the doctor actually steps out and a billing person comes in to try to get me to sign a contract for my plan of care to the tune of over $1600. She says I can pay for it all at once, in two payments, or broken down into 5 payments... anyway you slice it, they want to make sure you will keep coming back because you pay upfront. I want to feel better, that's why I went to a chiropractor in the first place. But I left here feeling like all they did was try to sell me on the benefits of chiropractic care without offering me any relief for my pain.

I had a fantastic experience. Dr. Bigus was professional, friendly and courteous at each visit, and when I had a question - no matter how mundane - she was thorough with her answers. At my very first appointment with her I was 9 weeks pregnant and when she was able to find the baby's heartbeat with the doppler she was ecstatic, for me. Often times when a woman is that early in her pregnancy a heartbeat is only detected via ultrasound, and when she saw the tears in my eyes after hearing it she told me that I "just made her day". As a nurse myself I was highly impressed with the nursing staff at this office too. I had the same triage nurse for every visit except one; she and I got to know each other well, and she was always nothing but friendly and very thorough with any questions or concerns that I might have. I had a fantastic experience during my pregnancy, and the doctors and nurses at PHA made it even better. I knew that I could rely on them for anything.

The downside is they do not accept dental insurances, you have to pay out of pocket the entire amount of the procedure up front. They take your dental insurance information and say they will submit it to your insurance. Unfortunately, they failed to do so, so we had to submit it ourselves.

He was bedside before and after surgery and made sure I felt comfortable and safe. My surgery went very well and my recovery is going well. Receptionist was extremely supportive and kind in my initial experience and helped me through my fears of going as this was my first time ever going to a chiropractor. That carried over into my experience with Dr Josh who was very patient and throughly explained the process and answered my questions with ease. I really appreciated that and it was apparent that he was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work!
