Unless of course he is on the spectrum, in which case I forgive his lack of social skills. He seemed less than thrilled to have two middle-aged American women in the pub tonight. No worries, we struck up a conversation with a local, Luiga(sp?). It's a cool place. And I suppose if it were a weekend, it would be great. But tonight, well it was unfriendly and not very welcoming. Too bad because most of the rest of Ireland has been pretty nice.

She literally looked at us with a sour face and turned away. So, we did too! We walked right back outside and across the street to Casey's. We get it. You're Irish and we aren't. (although according to Ancestry.com, we are 68%). You are local and we are tourists. But you know what? We are all humans and there's no reason not to be kind! And guess what? The live music is fantastic - they have live music every weekend and on bank holidays and during the summer its even more often. You will find that many of Ireland's musicians will pop in here to have a listen or even jam with the band. But those nights are special - don't come here depending on them. Just come for the great music, the warm welcome and the tastiest pint. I have seen the staff here discourage loud, and boisterious groups - this is a bar for adults - and I truly appreciate that.

Nothing fancy but the charm and craic of it is fantastic. They have impromptu performance's everyday and a quaint beer garden. The Murphys is fantastic - goodbye Guinness is what I say.
