Great service, amazing wine selection and the best cheese and meat plate and giant "americano" burger we could have asked for. The spaghetti with duck ragu was molto bene. Bravissimo!! read more

This was our last included dinner on our Contiki tour. I remember that the decor looked like someone's living room with lots of interesting items strewn about. There was no theme but after a long day, I didn't care too much. We were served a plate of cheeses with balsamic glaze as a starter. The house wine we opted to buy a bottle of and split it at our table. It was pretty affordable at 9 euro split between 3 people. Our entree plate had salad, gnocchi in a tomato sauce, and baked chicken. It was ok but definitely a change to all the pasta and pizza we had been eating. The dessert was fantastic. It was pastry with cream and berry compote. As always, our service was spot on and they have clean restrooms for customers. After a long day of sightseeing, this was a welcome dinner before heading to our hotel.

We were being served by a young lady that clearly had some trouble understanding the English language, so we ended up explaining to her that we didn't want to mix two pizzas, but to just add mushrooms and onions on one of them. Next off I we didn't get our drinks for over half an hour and had to wait another 20 minutes for the pizza to arrive at our table. In the end the food was worth the wait. Last of all I would just like to mention that there is no proper air conditioning and that the chairs are unbelievable uncomfortable to sit in.

Upon arrival, the hotel may pretty small and unimpressive but our stay was wonderful. The rooms are a good size and I liked that the shower was in a separate room so that someone could still use the toilet at the same time. The AC worked well and they have an elevator. The location is perfect, just minutes from the Arena and short walk to most of the sites. I'm not usually bothered by whether staff is good at a hotel or not and it doesn't affect my stay; however, the staff here were outstanding. When we asked for dinner reservations one night, our phone wasn't working so they actually came up to our room with a basket of business cards with recommendations and then made the reservations for us. All of their restaurant recommendations were spot on and some of the best meals we had in Italy. On the last day, we had to leave early and asked for breakfast box. We came down to find that they had set up a full breakfast 30 minutes earlier than the usual start time just for us! I absolutely loved Verona and if I ever come back, I'll definitely look into staying here again.

My husband and I wanted to see Lake Garda on our way to Milan. We were going to go to Lake Garda and then come back to the hotel to collect our luggage the same day and then head to Milan. But Sylvia told us that the train station would have a luggage deposit so we could leave our luggage there while we explored Lake Garda and then head straight to Milan. We thought that was a perfect idea until we arrived at the Lake Garda train station at 9:30am and found out there was no luggage deposit. So we couldn't see Lake Garda (we weren't about to drag our heavy luggage around with us all day) and that completely messed up our day. Just make sure to double check the information that is given. I know she didn't do it intentionally but if she was unsure about the information she was giving us, she could've double checked for us. We are assuming that she knows all about these things since she lives in Italy. * Good location (located 5 minutes from Colosseum) * Directions to hotel on website very confusing * Big rooms (compared to other Italian hotels), hard beds * Nice big refrigerator
