I normally pay an average of $65-$75 for his grooming so Shandra's charged us $110.00. When I asked her why it was so high she replied My dog was difficult. Which I have always heard how good he is from previous groomers so she told me I charged you an up fee. No wonder she wouldn't say how much the fee was up front. His haircut wasn't even that good she used clippers exclusively instead of Scissor trimming etc. Warning: Be careful with this business.

Then I got a groomer that totally scalped my little girl poodle. She's still working for the company even though Kelly was appalled, her words, by the photos I sent her. Hazel was groomed there on Monday May 4, 2026. She came home with red, inflamed private area. She…read moredid not eat for 3 days. Drank very little water and cowered close to floor when walking and would walk far from us. Called 4 paws and related this. Was told to put baby powder on, it's normal. 4 paws called back several minutes later saying to put coconut oil on. Took her to vet. After examining her was told it was from cuts to area and Prednisone was prescribed for 12 days along with medicated pads to clean that area. There is no reason our dog should have any cuts to that area. There is no reason to be that aggressive. There is no reason to cut inside the folds of her privates. No animal should have to endure what they did. I can only imagine how she struggled with that grooming. I don't know who shaved her that day. I remember being told how over busy they were and how the dogs were not behaving but Hazel was good. Shame on the person who did this to this little Yorkie and shame in the others for allowing it.

It had to have been horrifically painful to her as she then started to bite the brush, scissors and groomer. The tongue immediately started bleeding where it had been cut off. When we went to pick her up, their story was that 'for 'unknown' reasons, she started biting and wouldn't calm done and she bit her own tongue off". Her tongue bled for hours. She had been groomed there for months. She always licks when there is water on her face. The groomer was negligent with her sharp scissors. I have a 6year old chihuahua, Yorkie mix and he has never been groomed. I was very nervous to just…read moreleave him with people I don't know. And he can be hard to handle, especially for nail trims. Trinity came out to Introduce herself and just began speaking to Jack and petting him. I put a muzzle on him because I just wasn't sure. Then off they went to The back room. I got a text that Jack was ready so I anxiously went in and there was my handsome boy, all trimmed, smelling great and with a cute bandana around his neck. Trinity explained that she took the muzzle off right away and he was so great with her! He was such a good boy!! A bit squirmy and loud about his nails but a perfectly good boy for the whole process. I would highly recommend Florida Paws Grooming! And so would my boy Jack!
