I think this is a great brewery to check out! The space is huge, and I love that they have both an indoor area and a huge patio, along with TVs around, so you can catch a game if you want. They also offer a good selection of beverages. It is kid- and dog-friendly, but can get crowded on weekends. It also rotates food vendors, so every week it will be someone different. I kind of love that since it gives you a chance to try different stuff every time. However, if you'd like to know ahead of time, the menu is typically posted on Instagram. I think it's a nice brewery to hang out at, and the staff has always been nice and helpful. read more

We were working in the area , so I went there two days in a row for drinks. Loved the German style beer. Location is nice with eady parking, etc. My only complaint is that the burger I got was tiny for the price. I think it was 14 bucks and it was slightly larger than a slider. Came in a paper tray with nothing else. Fries were separate. Tasty but NOT WORTH $14. read more

Beer was nice, I had the Mikro Böse! Went on a Saturday and decided it was too kid friendly on a weekend considering it's a brewery (I'm talking more toddlers/babies than adults). What is a downside for me may be a plus side for others, though. It was also warmer inside than expected, considering the garage windows/doors were shut. Im not sure if the "Delightful Smoke" menu is a special/visiting chef or if it's the permanent menu, but I didn't eat any food due to personal dietary restrictions. Though I couldn't personally eat any of it, it all sounded tasty and I hope to try the smoked cheesecake sometime! read more

Sceptre is a cute little brewery in Decatur. Small and chill. Unfortunately, I wasn't there long when I visited, but the staff was nice, they have a nice shaded patio area to enjoy a beer or eats and a good selection of beverages! I tried a Lager called the Thrash Can and it was very light and refreshing! I would definitely get a case of these guys if I could. Love Sceptre!! I came with some friends on a cold Saturday night in January. They have tons of parking!! One friend and I got the Bruh Gawd (braggot, 9%) and my other friend got Bewarewolves (double IPA, 8%). We all liked what we got! They are taking so many precautions for Covid! They have soo much outdoor seating; they've made walkways one way with arrows, they have plenty of signs about masks, and they're not allowing customers indoors except to use the bathroom (as of 1/9/2021). Yay!! Go Sceptre! They had fire pits (and two literal fire barrels) to keep us warm. Definitely try to sit by the fire barrels! They're much more effective than the fire pits. They had cute lighting and murals. It's just a really cool place. I really loved Sceptre and will definitely be back! Highly recommend!! read more

I got to check out Sceptre with some foodies when they first opened and was impressed by the caliber of beers - although there weren't many to choose from, I was able to find one I could appreciate and enjoy. Huge private parking lot in downtown Oakhurst/Decatur. Walking distance from Steinbeck's (where I ended up grabbing food afterward... check out my review!), it's a great beer option in the area. I ordered the Chaos Magician, a double dry hopped IPA - seems to be a staple on their current beer menu today, so check it out! You can find this new brewery, open as of today 2019.06.22 for a couple of days, on East Lake in Oakhurst right where Decatur transitions on the Western edge in a Dollar Tree shopping center with a mid-mod awning The interior is industrial modern with concrete and reclaimed wood finishes. An expansive bar lines the left side while the exterior has an awesome patio. The beers are brand new and still a little green but I have high hopes - currently 9 house beers including a Good Word Brewing collab and a handful of guest taps. These are the same people who own/run Argosy in EAV, one of my favorite pubs. I haven't sampled the food yet but so far I'm impressed. read more

Sunday November 16, 2020 Loved checking out a new brew pub in Decatur! We arrived in a Sunday when there was an encampment of tents with vendors selling craft /. This brewery also had food by Viny. We ordered a couple of Bewarwolves and grabbed a 4 pack to go at the end. You really do need to beware because these IPAs do pack a serious punch, but taste so fine. There were a few places to sit out door and under and awning. It drizzled a little and we moved a couple of times. Thankfully not too many others out on this rather overcast afternoon. The food pop ups change. From Viny we had a side of mac n cheese which we shared. We had a good time here. Afterwards we strolled through the tents to see what was being sold at the semi-farmers market. read more

Wow! Delicious unique brews with ample patio space and friendly service. Our two favorites have been Dream Pillows and Bruh, Gawd. As someone who doesn't like IPAs, it can be very difficult to find beer options at local breweries. The honey brew Bruh, Gawd was delicious: sweet but also well rounded. We went back the very next day for another round. They are only open for outside service right now. It can get a little crowded but they've expanded their tables on the patio and out into the parking lot so there's plenty of room to distance. If you're familiar, I feel Sceptre is similar to Lost Druid in terms of more unique, delicate flavor profiles available. Well definitely be back (regularly). read more

Fun brews with ample outdoor patio seating! The brews and merch are skate themed. Kid and dog friendly, and good vibes with fire pits and food trucks (there was a BBQ truck when we went). If you're trying to avoid crowds though, this is probably not the place. Line was extremely long to order drinks and food, and in general a lot of groups of people ignoring social distancing. Saw large groups, and of course when eating or drinking everyone in the groups were unmasked, but it was just a ton of people in close proximity, sometimes blocking paths to leave or go to the bathroom because they had nowhere else to stand. In terms of drinks, I really enjoyed their Sour IPA - Charging Crystals. It's exactly as it sounds and is a balanced blend of sour and ipa tastes. I also got the Indy Grab wheat ale. It was okay, but not my favorite. I got mac and cheese from the food truck. A lil too oily for my liking, but hearty and made with real cheese. Check them out if you have a chance, I think they have an interesting concept going, but may want to avoid weekend crowds for the best experience. read more

First experience at Sceptre and we will definitely be back, but hope they take some critical feedback to heart because we want them to succeed. Pros: The beers were very good! We tried both of their IPAs and they were both great! The vibe is fantastic. Really great job with re-doing the interior. The staff is really friendly and very knowledgeable! We tried the pretzel and the smoked chicken roll and both we're really good and would get them again. (Loved the mustard on the pretzel, cheese not so much). Great outdoor space that they say will open soon! Cons: We were trying to decide which IPA to have and asked for a taste and was only offered a 5oz pour which was $4. Of your billing yourself as a brewery - let people taste your beer. The prices in general are too high. The chicken sandwich is small enough for just one and it's $9 with no sides. We were sharing so we got fries which were $5, and while the container was a good size it was only half full and many of the fries were soft and not crispy. While it was good food, it was definitely not worth $14. Also, our IPAs were $6 for an 11oz pour (so it would equal almost $9 for a pint). I could see paying this for a super high gravity beer - but it's not much higher than a Night on Ponce (~7%abv) that I can get a pint of next door for $6. So I think the prices will need to come down if this place wants us locals to feel like it's a "regular" option. read more

So I really wanted to like this place more. We came on a cold rainy day in December and let's face it, this place is all about the outdoor atmosphere. It was dark and cold inside (nest thermostats said 68 degrees). It felt significantly colder though! The beers were not all that great, I'm an IPA girl and they just didn't have much. I love the food truck/pop up idea, it is a limited menu but the empanada I had was absolutely delicious!! Would I come back? Probably not. On to the next place! read more

This place is seriously amazing! Some friends and I checked it out a few weeks ago when they were hosting a Filipino food pop up by Adobo Atl. The location is great and it's in a strip mall so there is a ton of free parking! In COVID times, they are taking all the necessary precautions. Masks must be worn to enter and while at the brewery, unless sitting down and drinking. There are one-way directional arrows on the floor and markers where to stand while ordering. It is currently outdoor only except to use the restrooms. There is a bar towards the back of the patio where you can order beer (draft and can) and food. They regularly host different food pop ups and you can check their instagram to see what's up! My friend and I got the Bruh Gawd which was a mead beer. It was delicious and unique! A very drinkable 9% beer. Our other friend got an IPA and said it was good as well. You cannot beat the vibe at this place! It felt like being at a friend's chill but fun backyard party. When we went it was very cold but they had multiple fire pits and fire barrels and a ton of seating. They had a tv outside showing sports if that's important to you, haha. Its located in a complex with some other places so thats amazing bc AMPLE PARKING! Great beer selection i went for the Beware Wolves Double Dry Hopped IPA and it was so refreshing my friends Bruh Gawd which is a beer crafted with meads and i think thats the first brewery in georgia ive been to that has done this concept so def try it out!! The staff is so knowledgeable and kind and super easy to talk to! I absolutely love breweries that have huge open areas but especially in times of covid. This brewery had a good bit of space outside and they had barrel fire pits and a gas fire pit to help keep people warm! I can tell they take the pandemic very seriously which i love!! they have directions for an in way and out way to help guide traffic! They require masks to order! They have areas providing hand sanitizer and are right now outdoor-only service! Its soo important to me to support businesses that care about the safety of their staff and so i really really appreciate all the efforts they have in place! It should be no surprise to anyone that Oakhurst has given the world another gem of an establishment. I don't even know where to start! I came in this afternoon after seeing a post on Instagram for some beer and a smoked trout sandwich. I figured it would be, in some way, a disappointment. I've never been more happy to be wrong. The ambiance of the restaurant is incredible. It has the character and artistic disposition of a venue that's been here for years - particularly fascinating since it's been open for three weeks. Sceptre is crawling with beautiful and lush foliage, warm lighting, unique art, spectacular design, and genuine service - all reflective of the community's personality and values. Of course, I ordered the smoked trout roll that haunted me from my early morning newsfeed scrollings, and while I'm anxious to try everything, I would be perfectly content if I only ever were allowed to order that sandwich here. It was perfect proportions of juicy, smokey, fresh, flavorful, and filling. I got some fries on the side, and that was the perfect amount of food to sustain me. I ordered the "friend of the fool" peach ale because I was feeling a little homesick and my hometown in Arizona is known for it's peach ale (yeah, I know, it's misplaced). However, I was pleasantly satisfied with my choice - it was more tart and somehow more creamy than I had expected - perfect for a hot July Sunday afternoon. Not to mention the 7% ABV -- how do they do it?? This will definitely become a regular spot for me and my friends. I'm happy to add this to the list of places to boast about when out-of-towners come to visit. As a resident of Decatur, I am so excited to loop this into my regular rotations. Good beer and great venue. However, they are making the same mistake that the last restaurant in this space did. Expensive small plates (even entrees) that are not brought out together. You will leave hungry. There are plenty of other options in Decatur/Oakhurst that are similar in quality, but are a better value (BSP; Twain's). Yes, the location is a little strange (nextdoor to the Dollar Tree), but they've done such a transformative job with the space, you'll forget that's where you're in the middle of a suburban stripmall. Surprisingly awesome place to hang out! From the outside looks a little small since it's tucked away in the corner of the shopping center. We were lucky and were able to catch the dumpling pop-up event. The dumplings were actually really good. They had a good pork and a good chicken dumpling. Honestly, I had not heard of Sceptre Brewing Arts, but they had a great selection of different types of beers. Sadly, I cannot remember the beers I enjoyed, but they had some good IPAs, and surprisingly had a good sour beer, which normally I don't care for. The patio seating is great! There's plenty of space for social distancing. Unfortunately, because they try to space people out there is limited seating, but definitely appreciate their commitment to public health. Overall, would highly recommend this place to hang out for a beer. And, if you're lucky enough to hit a good pop-up event, the food was highly enjoyable! read more

So we went back to Sceptre today and it was MUCH better! There is now a TV outside so we could watch the game and have lunch and beer while the kids ran around and played games. Love, love, love the outside area and the beer. The food we had was good, but still not much to choose from. And why does a restaurant in Oakhurst think they can survive without a kids menu??? Really want this place to succeed, but it's going to need to up its food game. Loved the beers we enjoyed, but underwhelmed with the food. I ordered the Jerk Wings. They were really quite good, but there was zero jerk flavor. I love jerk, and would have loved to taste it. Not there. My wife ordered the fish and chips. The fish was way overcooked, dried out and tough. Both our dishes came with fries, which were good. Again, hope Sceptre is a big success, but it's going to need to improved in the kitchen. Stopped in for dinner. The interior space was creative and comfortable. The exterior space still under construction, but looks wonderful. I wound say the beers are solid, but not challenging or edgy. The sours were very session-able. There was an "India cream ale" with corn on the malt bill. It was nice. Achieved a nice smoothness with a balanced hop bite. Food overall was excellent. Corn meal fish and chips was fresh, spicy and wonderfully crunchy. Portion size could have been a bit bigger. They have a series of sandwiches on New England toasted, buttered rolls. I can't review the beer because I'm gluten free, but it's refreshing to finally have a local brewery/beer garden that also has gluten free options! Delicious craft cocktails and wine that's actually good (for a brewery). The location is tucked away on the edge of a strip mall but once you're inside it has a great ambiance. The outdoor space has fun hammock chairs and corn hole, and is dog friendly! read more

I love this place! There is so much creativity-- from the beers brewed with locally sourced ingredients, to the carefully thought out construction done primarily by the owners. Staff is always friendly and helpful, there is always a vegetarian or vegan food option, and the food is southern picnic style so the portion sizes aren't too overwhelming. There is an open deck and covered patio perfect for bringing pups or a group. Looking forward to enjoying manyy more brews in the future. read more
