We went there with friends (a couple) four days ago and had various types of coffee & a few snacks…read moreoutdoors. There was a nice ambiance and the coffee was very good. We enjoyed lingering and the young female server was pleasant. My husband & I asked if we could have some tap water and she readily complied (a rarity in Germany). Then the bill arrived and I said we'd pay. I always glance at bills because there are occasional mistakes, but it seemed awkward in front of our friends - so it wasn't until later (having saved the receipt to write a review) that I noticed we'd been charged almost one euro/each for the tap water. If you're going to CHARGE for tap water, tell the customer UPFRONT. Also; I gave the server a generous tip, and I wouldn't have been so inclined if I'd known about the tap water charges. And, then she didn't return for a very long time (I needed change for the payment). I would otherwise have given four stars if it wasn't for what happened at the end.

Our server was friendly and the food was delicious (with the exception of the fish dish my husband & I ordered, only meat dishes are available [the prevailing situation in Germany, and especially in small towns]). The restaurant has been owned by the same family for 95 years and the current owners are the fifth generation.
