Locals who frequent this place really love it and that attitude comes through in the service and food. Here, you'll find students congregating (remember this is a college town) in time off, or working diligently as they sip a fresh cuppa.
Benjamin, one of the baristas even has a flare for the dramatic and will paint a dragon or animal in the foam of your cappuccino.
Most importantly for me was the gluten-free menu. They had some great selections and were willing to work with me to figure out some additions that would be great to have. The gluten-free kaiserschmarrn did not disappoint -- if you're unfamiliar with kaiserschmarrn, think scrambled pancakes with extra eggy goodness, a southern delicacy in these parts and not often served for breakfast, but more as an afternoon snack or as dessert.
Over-all, a simple menu but a very nice respite from the hustle of downtown.
