The Rec Center: Overall, I liked the layout of the rec center, and the folks that helped with getting a card were SUPER friendly and helpful. While I have not officially used the rec center, I was a bit disappointed with the the size of the weight room. The size of the weight room reminds of a weight room that one would find in a hotel. However, the gym did look like it had everything that one would need for a decent workout. Also, I was a bit surprised that the rec center does not open until 9 am on weekdays (and Saturday). Based on my prior rec center experiments, I'm used to rec centers opening from 5:30 to 7 am. Then again, perhaps, these hours are for the summer months. The Library: Again, the librarian who signed me up for a card was very friendly. Also, I loved how she gave me a very thorough overview of this branch's services and resources. Although I was in the library for only a few minutes, I thought it was very well organized.

Was out and about with my 8 year old daughter and she wanted to go to the library and read and I…read moredid a quick Google search and it brought us here. This was our first time here and I did not know that this was more than just a library. Well first of all the library was great and my daughter was quite excited to read one of her favorite books to me. After reading we explored this place as something for everyone.....ping pong tables pool table, video games, basketball courts, indoor track, weight room, lots of event rooms and a playground outside for the little ones. The lodge is a wonderful venue to hold events. This property is ideal for weddings, parties and…read morecommunity events. If you decorated with fancy chairs, you could have a wonderful wedding. If you wanted an informal family reunion or block party, the location is great. There is a giant fireplace inside the main building and a fire pit outside. If I were having an event at the lodge, I would make sure that there wasn't any roadwork going on that could cause a delay for guests.

The lodge/cabin is cozy and adorable. There is a fireplace in the center of the main room. The outside deck was spruced up with white Christmas lights and it looked really nice. The deck is a perfect place for pictures and over looks a field. The backyard perfectly fits a white tent with plenty of room for people to move about the grounds. Parking is limited in front of the lodge and there is construction currently on the road in front which turns to road to a one lane road. I would love to come to more events here, rustic chic!

First - this is an amazing park…read more 1. Soccer fields everywhere!!! 2. Cricket, I walk by on the weekends and watch the matches - i miss cricket! 3. The walking trails are well maintained and both bikers and walkers are friendly! This is an amazing park. With indoor tennis, indoor pool as well as outdoor tennis, and outdoor pool. A water recreation area. Soccer fields and baseball/softball diamonds as well as a huge picnic area. This part has something from everyone! It was windy while i was walking in the park. But, the people were still out watching their kids play soccer! This facility consists of 7 indoor pickleball courts which may be the most in Montgomery county…read more Drop-in plays are available two days a week -Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am to noon. There are two open gyms - one with 4 courts for beginners and intermediate players and the other with 3 courts for advanced players. In addition to drop-ins, free beginners clinics are also provided on Fridays between 8:30 am and 10 am. These helpful clinics are conducted by advanced player volunteers and they are very beneficial for those who are interested in learning to play pickleball for the first time. Pickleball is offered indoor at Bohrer Activity Center during Fall, Winter and Spring sessions. For the summer months, it is moved outdoor to Diamond Farms Park, Gaithersburg. For each indoor session, there is a fee of $3 for Gaithersburg residents and $4 for non-residents for participating in the drop-ins and clinics which is a good deal when compared to other indoor court time or activities. There is no fee for outdoor sessions however. So beginners will get free clinics outdoor on Fridays. So for those who are interested in the fastest growing sports in U.S., we are fortunate to have this facility with venues for all levels of skills nearby. I don't get why anyone would complain about this recreation center. The staff have all been very…read morepleasant every time I go and it is a great resource to have in the community. It's alway clean and in very good condition. All the equipment is in good working condition and shows very little wear and tear. The only exception is one of the the pool tables has torn felt and is expensive to fix. The tables are good quality but smaller than regulation tables and meant for beginners. A serious pool player wouldn't use these tables anyway. It was obviously very inexperienced players damaged the felt and I've never seen skilled player use them. Their gym is as good as any you would pay a monthly fee and the centers fee is a fraction of the cost with much more to offer. The center is a great resource for the elderly of varying degrees of mobility with their many different activities. There are table tennis players in the 80's that would smoke most players 50 years younger.
