I discovered this winery through a private wine tour. The small winery and surrounding village are lovely and blessedly uncrowded by tourists. During my visit I tasted several wines on offer at the winery. Everything was enjoyable. Of particular note are their dry Rieslings and Muscat. The tasting I enjoyed was curated by Maxime, who partners with his father in the winemaking/growing process. He was incredibly engaging and helpful in explanations of both the wines and history of the winery. As a wine tour goes, this was a brilliant experience. In addition to producing some primo wines, the winery offers lodging for up to 4 or so guests. They also have a restaurant/tasting room space that can accommodate 30 or so guests. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Maxime W.
Passionate Alsace Winemaker Rooted in the vineyards of Dambach-la-Ville, I’m a proud ambassador of Alsace wines and the family legacy behind Domaine Schaeffer-Woerly. Raised among the vines, I grew up with the rhythm of the seasons and the stories whispered through each vintage. My love for wine isn’t just about flavor—it’s about heritage, emotion, and sharing a sense of place in every glass. Since taking part in the domaine’s evolution, I’ve poured my heart into producing expressive, honest wines that celebrate our terroir, especially through organic farming and traditional methods. For me, Alsace wine is not only a craft—it's a lifelong love story.
