Went here to get passports. We got right there at 9am on a Saturday (when they opened) and were lucky to be the 3rd & 4th people in line. Everyone working there were really nice and helpful. They made the whole thing painless and pretty quick. We were in and out in 45 minutes (for passports, that's good!) I would suggest going earlier. By the time we left, there were about 10 people in line for passports. Also, pay for everything by check if possible. Otherwise you have to get out of the passport line, wait in the check-out line to pay for your passport USPS fees, then get back into the passport line. We gave them checks for both the passport fees and the USPS fees and it was so much faster. Also have your forms filled out before you get there and make sure you have an ORIGINAL birth certificate otherwise you will be shown (politely) the door. There is also no "waiting area" which was a bummer so standing was really the only option. That was the only minor drawback. read more

The people that work inside are as unpleasant as they get. They shouldn't be working where customer service matters, they are repeatedly rude to customers. Their body language, their tone and their utter dislike for people is consistently evident. I've been here many of times for my post office needs and no joke every single time I receive horrible service. The post office clerks have the worst attitudes and no personality. business hours apparently listed incorrectly. went in today around 2:45 and was told they were unable to help me as the building closed at 3 pm (listed as 7pm here and 6pm on google) . the first woman i talked to didn't seem to know what she was doing and the other employee who stepped in to talk for her immediately said no when i told him i was there for a passport. very rude. he then told me i could come back and get a passport if i make an appointment online (only online, making one at the PO wasn't an option) this isn't the first time i've encountered a rude employee here. i never cared enough to make a review until my experience today very unhelpful staff, maybe i just keep catching them on a bad day? i'll be going to a different post office from now on read more

I use this PO daily for a last 1.5 year. I never had any problems with the stuff. They are nice and efficient. Those people who complain on the lack of the red carpet under their feet and no doorman, should visit few other PO locations in Chicago (eg Rogers Park, Elmwood Park) I use to live in those towns and had a horrible experience every single time (refusing to scan the package or "if you don't like it, go somewhere else" comments. This Post Office is terrible! Avoid it! The same 2 or 3 employees are always at the front and there's a problem with every customer's request. Always a long line, always hot inside. The employees are incredibly rude, and by their lack of knowledge of the job, I would think it was their first day if I didn't see them in there multiple times already. Managers never come when asked for. I've seen people who said they've been waiting for hours for Passport Services. Employees are usually half in uniform, with yoga pants or jeans and untucked shirts. The place is a mess. Too bad, because the actual letter carriers are very nice. read more

This place makes the DMV feel like a 5-star premium experience! That's how bad it is. The wait is always incredibly long. Today the line was out the door and there was no one, not even one associate, behind the desk. We waited and waited. Finally one person came out to start helping, begrudgingly and bitterly. They were in no rush, not friendly and it certainly didn't bother them that the line was out the door. She was incredibly rude and basically yelled at me because I didn't know I needed to fill out a certain form. She told me to get out of line to fill out the form and then made a rude and sarcastic comment. Listen, I try to see the best in people and tell myself, "Ok, they clearly all hate their jobs and are miserable", so I try to be sympathetic. But does that make it ok to treat their customers like crap when we are paying outrageous amounts to mail packages through them? I need to be going to UPS or Fed-Ex from now on because this place is way too frustrating. Avoid at all costs. read more

Horrible customer service, at least by the morning staff I encountered. I've never had someone demand I place something in their hand that I set down on the counter (as she instructed me to do two minutes prior) even though it was literally three inches from her reach. I'd rather drive to the UPS in West Chicago even though it's an inconvenience because the owner is wonderful and friendly. Let me start of by saying I called in to make sure they can "help me" with my passport application. Mind you, this is my first time and I have no idea what I'm doing. And application is already filled out. So they transferred me to a lady who takes care of the passport business. "Hello, I'm on my way there to your location, I wanted to know if you guys help with passport application there?" Lady" uh, no I don't help you with the application, we accept applications" "yes, sorry that's what I meant. Sorry I'm new to this. That's all I wanted to know. Thank you I'm on my way" As I get to the post office, they make me wait 30 minutes along with two others whom been there waiting for 45. Finally lady opens her office and takes us. It's my turn to walk in. " hi, here's my application " Lady... uhhhhhh, where's your birth certificate? Oh I'm sorry I didn't know what to bring, this is my first time and I called and asked if you can help me with this". Lady, how would I know YOURE A U.S CITIZEN??? I'm sorry I'll go home and get it. Is that all I need? Lady, YES! I walked out, went home grabbed my birth certificate and left to the golf rd location close to the mall. Lady was no help and had an attitude like she hates her job. I'm sorry that I'm new to this and didn't know what to bring. On the phone all she said to bring was two check books. Lady at Golf rd location was very professional very nice and told me everything I needed and asked if this was my first time applying. On Monday, Dec. 16, when lines were long and frustrations apparent, a beacon of light was shining through when Wally from the Package Pick-up department came to the rescue. He was not only polite but helpful with suggestions on how to get my package. He hunted and researched until he found out that the package had been put on the truck again for a delivery. I send a package on december 31st and it wad supposed to arrive on january 3rd. I looked january 6th and it hasnt even left the facility. I called to see where it was and she kept insisting it was on the way and would refusr to look for nr. Finally she could not find a supervisor, and ended up looking on the computer. Waiting for over an hour for my passport right now, sitting in the floor with tons of other people. HORRIBLY organized. The line is all over the place and people are cutting. There's is one person running the passports. Why not have more?! The other Schaumburg location had their passport office 'closed' and they didn't have any reason as to why it was closed. Another bad customer service day at the Schaumburg PO. After waiting in line the clerk was surly and rude and walked away from the counter without helping me and never came back! After waiting 15 minutes the clerk next to her helped me but couldn't explain why the other clerk left without finishing my transaction. We mail an envelope certified mail, with return receipt at 9am on March 3, 2018. The letter was for continuing state benefits and was time sensitive. At of 3pm on March 19th the letter is still in transit! It was due on March 15, thus we ended up taking time off work to hand deliver duplicate forms. Went today to the Post Office and spoke to the post master, who said there was nothing they could do. I demanded my money back and the package back. He said I had to wait 30 days before we could mail a claim in. THIS IS WHY UPS is beating the Post Office. read more

I live in Schaumburg so this is the closest post office to my home. Despite the short drive, i will never again use the Schaumburg post office. I had terrible service from rude employees who even answered their personal cell phone while weighing my package. I came in about 15 minutes before the post office was closing on a Wednesday. I didn't mind standing in the long line to ship off my package. But by the time I got to the front of the line, it was 10 minutes after closing time and the post office employees told me "I want to go home now, so we will mail off your package first thing tomorrow morning". I gave them a hard time because i wanted to make sure that the package was delivered by Saturday. I even payed extra for the 1-2 day shipping. So low and behold, Saturday morning (the day that my package is supposed to arrive at its final destination) i go online to check the status of my package to soon find out that it had just been shipped off two hours ago. I tried to call and complain to the postal workers who assured me that that package would arrive today, but of course, the bad service continues because no one at the Schaumburg post office will answer the phone. Next time i have to mail off a package, I will drive 15 minutes to Roselle (where the employees are considerate and hardworking) to mail something off. I recommend that everyone does the same. Save yourself the head ache and bad service. Stay far away from the Schaumburg Post Office. read more

The lady that helped me was so incredibly rude. The shipping label wasn't taped correctly which was totally my fault and it was no problem for me to fix it. She kept complaining about it, "oh my god way too crinkly there's no way I can scan this oh my god" then handed it back to me. I had another package that I had to pay for so she did that for me and then told me I needed to get a different envelope or package for the one that wouldn't scan. I asked her if there were any envelopes here that I could use and she kept saying "oh my god well what kind of label is it oh my god" she went to go grab one while exclaiming "oh my god" very rude, made me feel like I was doing something incredibly wrong. if you can't be nice to customers, this isn't the job for you. I know you should expect bad service from any government agency, but it's ridiculous none-the-less. We went there for the passport services. The line was long (as expected), but that wasn't the problem, the customer service and organization was. There was little to no explanation of what to do to get "in-line" for passport services. Finally, someone working there yelled, "Sign-up on the clipboard on that door!" There was easily 20 people there before the Passport office opened, and there was no place to stand, but the employee kept yelling, "Stand against the wall and get out of the way." The passport lady came out of the office several times yelling "Make sure you fill out all your forms before you get into my office." But there was no indication of what forms to use or that they needed to be filled out. Isn't that the point of coming in and paying a fee? We also later found out that the forms available were expired, which sucked because we payed nearly $100 for expediting (including overnight), only to find out the Passport office would reject the application. When we finally got into the office, the passport lady was rude, she yelled at my 15 year old daughter for not completing one section, which she left empty because we was unsure about. She didn't like us asking questions either, at one point she said, "Back off and give me room to breath!" I thought we were paying for her to help us and answer questions. All-in-all we paid roughly $205 for an expedited Passport. And it took us over an hour. We later found the Schaumburg Township Office next door offered the same service for $165. And the lady who helped us was supper nice and answered all our questions. She even made sure we used the correct form. They were open later and it only took 10 minutes to complete the process. read more
