Since Jay hates the nice, harsh, nice format, and prefers just harsh, harsh, harsh, I will do the former. This is mostly a review of the "U" but applies to the whole Tao of Jay, who seems to have studied cults, and how to degrade your followers into submission. Good- The "U" is easy access to the airport, public transportation and your escape. The women who work here, I get the feeling, just need to support their families/ lives and I feel for anyone who has to work directly for such a jerk. The Bad- Just about everything else having to do with Jay and his vision of making himself rich. Greed is contagious and if your doc signs up for this nonsense, get your resume in order sooner rather than later, because Jay has no use for you and if your doc becomes a convert, neither will your doc, no matter how professional you are or how much you bring to the practice and patients. For you dental professionals who are used to classes that are actually valuable and carry CEU credits, none of Jay's do. So you will be held hostage for days and these "classes" are so worthless you get nada, nothing not a single CEU credit. Think Scientology and their "classes" There are some decent speakers if you attend the "U", but Jay himself is one of the most obnoxious, megalomaniacs this side of Donald J Trump. At the end of the first day, we got Jay on video. Basically explaining how there is a vast "War on Prosperity" and if you want to be "above the line" you need to have vast wealth, or work for someone who does, because otherwise you are "below the line" and that means your life sucks. Doesn't matter how good of a person, professional, parent, citizen you are, NO, all that matters is your vast material wealth. That is all that counts for being "Above the Line". And he doesn't want any office managers especially, trying to reason with the owners, or present other points of view, no, they are to "DO AS YOUR TOLD!!!!". The end of the next day brought a "special guest"!! Wow, who could it be?? It's the Almighty Jay Geier!!! He came out like he thought he was Mick Jagger, it was laughable! Then we were held hostage to his rants for about an hour. And yes, there are the "Stepford Wives" who make sure you don't leave. When I was there, they were all white, in their 20-30s, thin and attractive, no diversity here! Honestly, there was very little diversity in the attendees either, which is not surprising. Anyway, Jay comes out like he truly believes he is a rock star, waving etc., to tepid applause, then proceeds to insult most of the audience. Let's see,he kept referring to all dental employees as "she", gee I was sitting next to a male, former Marine, Dental Hygienist, and he wasn't the only male there by any means. But in Jay's world, only lowly women work for all male doctors, I guess. Now mind you, there were offices here, with women very modestly dressed from Utah, and he already knows the audience IS a mostly female, but that doesn't stop him from using the F bomb liberally, because he is "above the line" so he can do whatever he wants, and we are impressed. Sorry, I don't want to have to listen to profanity when at a dental seminar. He uses profanity to intimidate, nothing else. He gives loads of money to his children's private school, and wants his own landing area for his private plane there, and is disgusted that fellow parents, thinks he would waste his time having a discussion with them . Because, THIS is the stuff that is going to make a dental team more efficient! Oh, his wife is an idiot, as most wives are, too. She should know better than bother him with her silly problems!! Jay makes the rules! When he was in high school he looked down his nose at all those underage drinkers, but it was okay for him to endanger the public by underage driving without a driver's license! Because Jay is cool!! The most scary and insulting of all is when Jay went off on any team members who think they can take their lowly, below the line selves to their almighty bosses and ask for better working conditions for the team ALA Norma Rae. He HATES Norma Rae, and if she were his employee, he would have had her assassinated. Yes, this idiot actually threatened to kill an employee who wanted better wages, working conditions, health care. How dare you!! Your boss is trying to get Above the Line and Win the War on Prosperity!! Not surprising, most team members don't last long in these Scheduling Institute offices, Jay's employees themselves don't last long, and the docs who buy into this cult also usually figure it out eventually. Jay is a con man, and a mean one. And to end on a positive note- the Scheduling Institute has convinced your doc, you don't need to be paid or get any Continuing Education credit for his "expertise", you just need to be in a perpetual food coma. There are carbs galore to be had for near constant grazing. Ice Cream bars, waffle bars, the food is delicious. Feels a bit like fattening the calf before the slaughter though. read more

Before you read my review, I just want to let you know I am an independent dentist and not writing this review for any compensation from the Sched. Institute, not am I a friend of Jay Gaier's or anything like that. I just saw some of the negative reviews and was shocked at the misinformation that these disgruntled dentist's employees are putting up here......I just had to make things right....You can get real reviews, honest reviews from better sources like www.dentaltown.com forums and other doctors who have positively impacted their practices. After reading some of the reviews (actually I have spent the last 40 minutes reading details on the reviews on this site and other sites. I have realised that the vast majority of the positive reviews come from practice owners (DOCTORS) and the vast majority of the negative reviews come from disgruntled doctors EMPLOYEES. The vast majority of staff (mine included) don't like change, don't like being evaluated or tested and don't like it when the Doctor (Who is usually up to his Knees in just dealing with dentistry, bills, staff, regulations, administration etc.) gets to listen in on what is said on patient calls. A lot of the poor reviews on this site deal with "how dare he call me/ this is illegal and the calls were unsolicited etc.) I say "thank God someone showed me what was going on". Some of the bad reviews I see on this site are from people of limited business skills or possibly patient management skills...for example the ones that say their new patient numbers went up but they lost some of the new patients they brought in - well its so obvious that the patients came in because of how the calls were handled with Jays system but they left because of their poor to average "new patient" experience....and for that, patients have a choice right? People have a choice. We all respond to advertising in the world around us but we don't just go blindly into the advertised business and stay and spend...we evaluate EVERYTHING and then make a choice. I had joined up with Jay's Sched. Institute a few years ago and went through the mystery calls etc. The cost was around a few hundred dollars a month which is quite reasonable. After listening to some of the recorded calls I made some changes. I began to notice other things some of my staff were doing and we ended up loosing that employee....the others we retrained and they are doing fantastic. Since then I have stayed on but been a bit of a fence sitter and not attended any live events. My staff don't like the scripted calls so we just adapted jays system to fit my patients and staff. So we never get a five star rating but after listening to Jays CD's and looking at all the materials and ideas he sends I have adapted a lot of it or created new systems from ideas I got and I am very thankful to him. Of course it meant a lot of hard work on my part and it meant the use of my own intelligence and ideas....some of the scripts I chose to alter as per my own Intelligence...to suit my own philosophy, patient base, staff and area. I would never have thought of these things had it not been for Jay. So we never get 5-star ratings for their calls (maybe they do just send me the worst calls - but I know that might be a possibility so I compensate for that mentally by being aware of it)...we just use our hybrid system and are happy with it. I just attended my first live course on the 22nd of August, 2014 Absolutely fantastic course and Vital information that every dentist should have ! Jay has probably changed the course of my career, my life, and the rewards I have from both. I probably wont be spending the big bucks for the training programs just yet, however I will be attending more live events for sure. Jay and the Scheduling Institute are the very best at helping dentists and health care practices to grow and deliver the highest standard of dentistry to their patients. I have been involved with various other practice management firms over my entire 30 year career and the Scheduling Institute is without peer. I have also lectured and taught very high end esthetic dentistry to the very best dentists (clinical practitioners) internationally in dentistry. I have authored numerous articles and even chapters in reference texts for advanced dentistry, esthetics and occlusion so it concerns me that one reviewer states 'if you are an intelligent individual...this company is not for you'. I can honestly say that being the best possible clinical dentist is vastly different than delivering the very best to our patients. I have seen more than my share of the best and brightest clinicians that dentistry has to offer (a literal 'who's who' in advanced dentistry), and have been privileged to a 'ring side seat' teaching alongside many of these gifted individuals so I can objectively say that SI is without peer in their professionalism, depth, and knowledge on how to create not only better dentists, but better people. They are not a 'cookie cutter' approach to management. They are adept at helping dentist's to understand exactly who they are and exactly what they need to do to improve their practice and ultimately deliver better care to our patients (which is what its all about after all). I can certainly see how some dentists and/or staff may not like to be told they are directly responsible for how their practice and/or life is going, or that they can or need to improve. I can also see the difference between a practice that desperately tries to hold on to past detrimental practices, or tries to 'modify' or 're- interpret' what they learn from SI and claim they are making the effort but truly don't engage the process of change (with predictably poor results). Additionally, I believe it takes a VERY -secure- person to admit their not without fault and sincerely take ownership and control over improving themselves. Jay Geier and the Scheduling Institute have a time tested, honed and proven methodology to take dentists (people) their team (also people), and their practices to new levels. They have consistently won numerous awards (dentist evaluations) to validate that overwhelmingly they are very successful at what they do. It is NOT for the timid, meek or feeble who believe they already have all the answers and are just looking for someone to give them a quick fix (without any significant work). They are actually brilliant at creating ownership and merely guide and hold you accountable to very specific goals and directions that YOU create. If its not successful you only need to look into the mirror to see why not. Like countless offices before us we noticed an IMMEDIATE improvement in our practice metrics, improved patient satisfaction, growth, and my team understands fully that they are accountable to the highest standard and they LOVE what SI has done to improve not only their professional, but personal lives. I have done business with the Scheduling Institute for about 5 years, including the last couple of years as a "Platinum" (coaching) member. Overall, SI can definitely help pull your practice out of the "we've always done it that way" mentality and enable you to begin to acquire more new patients and become more productive- as we did. This is not specifically a personalized, but more of a cookie cutter approach to increasing parameters. Everybody answers the phone a given way, pays employees a given way, etc. It certainly can work for you if you follow the verbal instructions. You will not get scripts- like from Roger Levin, and you will be pushed to stay on the dole- like Pride Institute. They have many services that you will be highly "encouraged" to partake in. If you're the boss, you will have to do most of the work, as they are only an advisory company, not hands on unless you have a trainer come to your office. This is an expensive, yet potentially good value- depending on the course and the engagement. The big thing that you need to remember is that you won't likely be working with the founder unless you spend six figures with the company. I originally signed up for Platinum for a year. At the end of the year, I was advised, "Platinum is designed as a two year engagement". I just recently finished my two-year stint and was pressured to continue the course. Here's where I saw their true colors. I cancelled an in-office training 15 days (fifteen days) prior to the training date. I had failed to note a conflict when I originally scheduled. I was advised that unless I sign up for another Platinum year, I would be penalized $1,000 for the "last minute" cancellation (it was their "policy") My last paid coaching call was instead a double teamed high-pressure "sales" call- not a coaching call that I paid for. So, at the end of my $80K+ engagement, I was penalized a thousand dollars and subjected to an unwelcome marketing call. I decided that I wished to temporarily discontinue the coaching ($1,575/month) to save for equipment. I wrote an earnest letter to my coach stating that I had some misgivings and wanted to not be a part of the Platinum membership for now but "I may rejoin SI when I feel that I have the time and inclination to move to another level in the future". I was messaged back by my coach- " In 2016, we have moved to a application process, which she (Karen) serves on the team that approves the applications, and informed me that yours will be denied". If that's not a "screw you very much" approach, I don't know what is. I have stood up against several vocal doctors that bashed SI... but perhaps they knew more than I did. It can be the right thing at the right time- but, in my view, it doesn't need to be a career long engagement like they seem to want. read more

The Scheduling Institute is not for everyone, but it has certainly helped me in many ways. When I say it is not for everyone, it is because you have to check your ego at the door. Four years ago I had just bought my partner out and became the sole owner. I knew my practice had tremendous potential, but I needed help and direction to make it great. I started with an in office phone training session, and my staff had a great time and learned alot. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. What never ceases to amaze me is how most people want something for nothing. Moving on, we (my team an I) went on to have many more office trainings, the hygiene boot camp, and experienced the "U". I also started with the Platinum program and am now 5X. More importantly, I have a great team in place, and our patients love coming to the office. I have also implanted an important system that taught me how to manage the cash flow in the office. At no time was I ever pressured by S I to purchase more training or to hard sell my patients. What we did learn was that by functioning as a TEAM, and putting the patients needs first, we became even more successful. Sometimes you have to listen to things that you may not agree with, but every practice is different and has different needs. The training and guidance we got from Jay Geier, his in- office trainers, and consultants has made us thrive while practicing in a dentist- saturated area on the northwest side of Chicago. At no time did my staff ever feel threatened (check that, my partner's sister in law was completely against any outside consulting, she was our office manager!!) Now we have team leaders, a chain of command, and a culture and mission statement we all abide by. We have a budget that is manageable, and everyone on the team shares in the office success. We don't "sell" anything, because our reputation speaks for itself. I got so tired seeing these negative comments, but I think alot of dentists get threatened by hearing the truth. The economy is always changing, insurance benefits are changing, managed care and corporate dentistry are making the market more competitive. There is no silver bullet, but if you can find someone or something that can help you with your direction, and help you negotiate thru all these trying times it is well worth it, and it can be fun, meaningful and productive. Nobody will ever make me drink any "Kool aid", but I am smart enough to ask for help when I need it. I would not be where I am today without the Scheduling Institute!! read more

They are genuinely good people, setting an example that you just want to follow. We have had employees that do not want to embrace the practice of making your day about the patients in your office & not about yourself. Doctor's/Office Managers, I won't get into everything. It's just not worth my time and I don't think any of these one star reviews actually are going to change their mind based on anything I'd have to say. I will say this. I started at the beginning of 2013 and our practice has skyrocketed. My staff loves everything about SI! They will each make more money this year than they ever have by far, but most importantly they have become better people. Our patients just voted us best in Winnebago County (we had never won that prior). Our referrals per month prior were around 2-4. Now they are between 35 and 60. Our new patients are up from 17 to around 100. Our collections in 2012 were just under $1million and this year we think we will hit $2.25million. We have closed the back door too. I'm a better leader at home and at work. I know a Yelp review from a dentist in WI may not seem real so I hesitate for saying this: I credit Jay and his program for keeping my family together (I won't go into all that). For me it was time for a change and time to get the success I deserved no matter what anyone on my staff thought. My first priority had to be my family at home and though by many standards $1 million wasn't terrible I knew we weren't as successful as we were pretending to be and were at about a 2 out of 10 in terms of our potential. Luckily my staff was "pretty much" on board. Skeptical at first until they knew I wasn't turning back. Once they actually jumped on board we took off.....AS A TEAM. I have the best team we've ever had. You don't keep great people by doing dishonest things either. (By the way....I'm really proud to say since 2012 we have also given back almost $80,000 to our community - I'm sure way more than the 11 years combined prior to SI). I signed up with the Scheduling Institute in May 2012. My monthly new patients averaged 4 per month at that time. After the initial training and some marketing, our new patient numbers shot up to about 40+ per month very quickly. They are not teaching misleading practices, as some reviewers stated, just good, sound marketing techniques that eliminate the obstacles to getting that patient in your front door. Yes, a few may leave mad if you don't take their insurance, but that is very rare, and I'd trade that over not having many new patients coming in any day. Like most dentists, I had no business training in dental school. I learned how to run a dental practice from my dentist father, who's practice was never tremendously successful. I have learned so much from Jay Geier and the Scheduling Institute, not just about business, but about life, in general. I have just started my 3rd year at the Platinum level and my practice has been showing steady growth. I must admit, I have not done everything they have told me, either out of my own laziness or resistance from my staff. I'm sure if I had, my practice would have grown even more. The on-site trainings are top-notch. The staff enjoy them, are engaged and really run with the information they receive (translating to increased revenue and ROI). I attend 2 Platinum meetings per year at their headquarters in Atlanta, which gives me the opportunity to talk to my peers from all over the country in different stages of Scheduling Institute membership and get great ideas of what worked for them. These meeting get me energized and give me great ideas that I can bring to my practice on Monday morning. The Scheduling Institute has laid out a roadmap for my practice success, and so far, everything they have said is basically true. Every investment I make in Scheduling Institute dues or staff trainings comes back to me at least 10 fold in increased revenue. If you feel like you need help running your practice to get it really moving or if you have a successful practice already but feel your staff need some training, nobody does it better than the Scheduling Institute. It is no risk to get your free Mystery Call and I promise you, no matter how good you think your front desk is, you will be surprised at how they could improve. read more

I have attended at least 10 Scheduling Institute trainings. I started working for my doctor 3 years ago. I started 1 month after the office started working with SI (Scheduling Institute). I can tell you that at first I felt like it was a cult. I was totally skeptical and didn't know how their teaches would work in our smaller town. How the heck was I not going to sound like a robot on the phones, how was I going to sound natural or better yet how the heck was I going to get certified?? (Side note, people are always hating on having to be certified- NEWSFLASH- if you don't answer the phones properly, you don't get any new patients) We had a few growing pains and 3 years later I can say that we have learned so much from SI. Our practice went from averaging around 30 (ish) new patients a month to now 65 (ish) or so a month. We have learned new ways to communicate with our existing patients and how to really 'roll out the red carpet' for our new patients. Some people have said that Jay is hurtful, mean, etc., etc. I had the pleasure of going to Atlanta in October to a Marketing Seminar. I was seriously blown away. I learned so much from all of the special guests speakers (and Jay of course) and during one of the breaks, I marched my self right up to Jay, totally verbal vomited something stupid, and took a selfie with him. Before I met him, before I actually went down to Atlanta and heard him- LIVE, I had only had trainings in-office and felt like "Ok, we can implement this stuff, we got this!" But when I went down there and actually met other offices that were like us, and skeptical, but were doing it and seeing results. It was then that it really came full circle for me. I literally just finished another in-office training this afternoon with Lindsey O. She was fantastic, she was down-to-earth and totally tailored the training to what we needed. Our office is better because of SI, not only are Jay's principal's applicable to work, they are applicable to your home life as well. I will leave this one last thought, since I am a quickstart, Like Jay, this review is all over the place, I know, but let me just say, as long as SI continues to train, we will be apart of them. This was a fantastic experience! That was the general consensus from our group of 12 that traveled to the event from NY. Several speakers were highly motivating and shared many ideas that will -and already have- helped our team members with personal development as well as goals for some changes we plan to make professionally for our multiple office locations. You will truly benefit from participation with the Scheduling Institute (SI) if you are open to the ideas presented. Proper implementation of the scheduling process and "Wow factor" new patient experience when patients come to the office for their appointment will lead to growth you never dreamed possible! You will find that many of those new patients calling you are no strangers to your office; they are the friends, family, and co-workers of your existing patients who you have treated exceptionally well. Getting new patients in the door by recommending their questions would best be answered by the doctor as taught by the SI is simply a good and smart business practice for those who want to be successful in providing quality care to all patients who are seeking exactly that. Even those who feel they are already doing their best have room to grow and do even better. I've been with our office for nearly 5 years and cannot even imagine what the next 5 years will hold as the changes for the better I've witnessed have been phenomenal. Thanks in great part is due to the SI and to Jay for the positive influence he has had on the practice owner. Without the owner's belief in the processes recommended and unwavering commitment to serve our patients with nothing less than the best in care has led us to grow in just a few short years to double the number of employees, the addition of two new offices, and our own lab and call center. If you want to stay exactly where you are, doing exactly as well (or as poorly) as you've always done, don't join the Scheduling Institute. Why only 4 stars? Because I have only been with the Scheduling Institute since January 1, 2015... But I want to give 5! So far they have EXCEEDED expectations. I am the owner of a FFS (fee for service) dental office in upstate NY (farm country, so most people don't have $ falling out of their ears). There are 9 other offices in town... all of whom "accept" or "participate" with insurance, so the competition is tough. I have been struggling just to keep my head above water up until now... but I am starting to see improvement with our bottom line. From the first month we started we had more new patients each month than ever before... In the past, June and July had given us 1 or 2 new patients PER MONTH... this past June we had 14, and as of today we have 12 for July! ALL WITHOUT CHANGING OUR MARKETING/ADVERTISING. This may not sound big to some of you, but it is HUGE to me. And the change in our bottom line $ is showing also... May was the first month that I was able to pay my office bills WHEN THEY CAME IN, and not "hold them" until just before they were due to make sure I had enough money to cover them. I have so much less stress in my life because of this. I purchased the Do-it-Yourself-Phone-Kit-in-a-Box (I don't remember the real name), and at this point that is all I have done. Some of my staff was resistant, but I told them that I really wanted to try it EXACTLY as they (SI) presented it... And we are doing it! I feel my success is tied to truly giving the plan a chance and to not folding to staff pressure to "tweak the system". And I love the inspirational emails they send, because I needed to change how I do things. I needed support and I find it in these emails. Sure they may be a bit sappy, but I like them. I also like SI's emphasis on giving back to the community. You can't help someone else swim if you are drowning, and they want you to do well so you can be generous to others. I am taking the next step and having an in office session for Hygiene... and I will proceed carefully from there... but a definite 4 stars and a tentative 5 stars for now! read more

When you try to think of exactly what to say about a business, company, consultant, or coach... that has changed your life, thank you isn't even enough. My father is a dentist in Indianapolis and I first heard about the Scheduling Institute when I was just a senior in high school. My Dad received a mystery call, and when you say shocked is how he felt, that is an understatement. That's when my parents first started with SI on a phone training. His numbers increased right away from about 10 new patients a month, up to about 40+ a month. Fast forward a few years to when I was graduating college, my parents were attending an SI event back in 2013 when they realized they needed a full-time Marketing Director, and I told them I wanted it. Within my first week, I had the opportunity to be invested in by my parents, our company, to send me to a workshop in Atlanta as well as in Phoenix. There I not only learned new systems and processes, but how to be a better team member, how to be a better team leader, how to be a better person personally and professionally with my parents, our patients and our community. But I then fast forward 9 years... We built a brand new 9,000 square foot office, seeing 200+ new patients, and my Dad and I opened up a dental clinic in Haiti. My parents grew our practice where they were able to sell the practice and be very happy. As they sold the practice, I decided to move on from our practice and had the opportunity to go work for SI. Everything I learned outside of College was Scheduling Institute. And what I had the opportunity for personally and professionally, I couldn't have asked for a better company to work for, work with, and continue to grow with. If you are a business owner, not even a doctor, not even a dentist, but want to grow your business, grow your team, grow your patients or clients, give SI a call. For anyone on this site who has left a one star rating, I would suggest that if you are truly honest with yourself, proportionally you got exactly from SI the amount of effort that you put into implementing their coaching and recommendations. Our office is in a small rural part of SC. I bought it 3.5 years ago. If it was a house you might call it a complete disaster/money pit. Thankfully I found SI shortly after buying this practice. And while it has not been easy, we have worked very hard at implementing SI's many ideas and we have committed to being a highly engaged client. The outcomes have been simply amazing. We are on pace to increase the revenue of our office by 300% after only 4 years. Is it an easy road? Absolutely NOT! But hey when did anything in our lives that is worth anything become easy?? My office has worked with SI for several years now. We have done the big events, the trainings and participated in The U. Initially it all seemed good and we implemented some great things in our office that our patients really enjoy. There have been other things that we have tried that failed miserably with our demographic. Our office was doing pretty well before we originally made the investment to join. We were already doing a lot of the things that were being suggested in the trainings, but we figured this would be a way to take the practice to the next level. Four years in and with a very dedicated staff who is not resistant to growth and change, we are yet to see that happen. In my opinion, the amount of money that our doctor has invested to be a part of this organization is outrageous.The thing that is most disappointing is the lack of new information. It is all very repetitive. I can certainly appreciate the value of retraining, but I have found that it is a lot of the same information being repeated over and over and not always in different packaging. Also, because SI has grown so quickly since we initially joined, the level of service we receive is now subpar at best. The people answering the phones need to go through their own telephone training because they often seem clueless on who to direct me to when I call. It would be a great idea if our consultants actually knew something about the doctor and the office before calling to speak with him or our staff. It seems to me that Jay and SI like to make big promises, but they fail on delivering and follow through is poor. Their referral program is a bit of a joke and we are still waiting for a thank you for our referrals. I understand the principles behind what SI is trying to accomplish, but I think that Jay and his team have lost sight of the initial vision they were promoting. We will not continue with SI and I cannot say I am disappointed with the doctor's decision. read more

The Scheduling Institute (SI) is incredibly helpful, very insightful, and strongly encourages it's clients to be introspective. If you want to change, overcome the problems that are holding you back, and become happier in every aspect of your life SI is the way to go. Most of us say we want to overcome our problems but going through the process to make it happen is much more challenging than it sounds. SI helps you through the process and delivers amazing final results. While people may write negative reviews about the Scheduling Institute what they are really saying is, the struggle encountered in overcoming themselves and the obstacles they've created that hold them back is hard. Think about it, it's hard to hear someone that isn't a doctor tell you there are better ways to answer the phone, manage the logistics of your patients, and facilitate your patients going through with treatment. SI is courageous enough and kind enough to say, we would be honored to serve you and teach you this process. You can do it and we can help you be successful doing it. In fact, you'll love it. As painful as it is to hear I don't know everything, I am only the expert rendering dental treatment. I have no formal training on all the other pieces of the puzzle. Yes, I have some ideas and experience but, I am not the expert. This is where SI steps in and provides their expertise. The improvements offered are dramatic. Interestingly, I've discovered I am usually the cause of things not being as good as they could be. The moment I get out of the way, WOW! Everything improves. However, you can imagine what it takes to understand and see that you are the problem. You can also imagine how painful it can be to realize I have been the problem all along. I work with Dr. Mark Fabey who is one of the most generous and kind human being I have met in my dental career and he is a fabulous Dentist. That is just not a combo you meet everyday in this world. When I started with this office he had just signed up a few months earlier and was just getting in to the program. The office was not doing well!! The DR., 1 asst, 2 hyg and receptionist were sitting around. At that time the office functioned with 3 opt(rooms) . I was hired to help grow the practice as the financial coordinator and because of my years of experience I was helpful. HOWEVER, there was a lot of room for me to grow also. The systems and protocols that were supplied to us by the SI program made the transition much easier and more consistent. The bottom line to the SI program and the way JAY present the system is totally up the commitment of the owner and the team. You must take ownership to who and what the problems is. If you are willing to put in the hard work that it does take to build an office(BUISNESS) and give the patients the dedication and CONSISTANT experience that they deserve you will reap the benefits. Believe me, we have had new associated and team members who have NOT worked with SI, just didn't get what we were doing here and had a lot of doubts. BUT now they see the benefits to the system and they (WE) definitely are doing much better. We have grown so much as a team in 6 1/2 yrs. As of now we have 4 Associate Drs., 6 Hygienist, 5 assistants, 1 sleep coordinator, 2 concierges, 2 insurance coordinators, financial coordinator and 2 front desk scheduling coordinators and I am now the COO, oh, I forgot to mention we now have 11 opts. I can hardly believe the impact my experience with SI has had on my outlook with my practice and personal life. Every seminar I go to, or feedback I get from my adviser, Natalie, I get more excited! I went with the 5X program in January and have already seen my monthly revenue double just from what we have implemented so far. I've been practicing orthodontics for nineteen years and I finally have a road map with predictable results if the information given is applied. If you are a dentist, an orthodontists or any business owner you know how valuable this is. You are no longer re-inventing the wheel! It is one of the most liberating things I've experienced in my career. I was surprised to read some of the negative reviews, but not so surprised when I saw they were from staff members. They sound like many of the people I have employed over the years that want to punch a clock and contribute as little as possible, and are threatened by something that may require them to actually create value to the practice. If you doctors are reading their reviews, these are the people you need get rid of. They have no interest in your success, only in their convenience. Sure, Jay markets the hell out of you. Every seminar I go to he is still marketing to us, so what! If you don't like it, just say no! The difference about what he provides is that it works. HONEST OPINION!! Where to start. First and foremost the U is NOT a scam like many claim! Our practice has been part of the u for more than 3 years and I have seen It grow in way I never thought.. (And I don't just mean financially.. Our customer service and patient appreciation has been greatly impacted) just by applying a few of the strategies taught at the "u". I have grown so much in my professional life as well as person by implementing what is being taught at the u. My ex: I work as an oral assistant in Dallas and I was always terrified of answering phone calls.. But that quickly changed when I learned how to answer and direct the calls, how to keep the calls short while providing excellent customer service and not sounding pushy or rushed. I went from 0 scheduled new patient to 30-40 A MONTH!!! My favorite class has been the accountability class in Phoenix! I has taught me so much about where I am in life (in general) and where I could be if I just take responsibility/ACCOUNTABILITY of the things I want/and can change and put them in place in order to grow not only as an employee but as a HUMAN BEING! I would highly recommend the Scheduling Institute if you want to grow your practice. My brother and I have been clients since January 2008. With hard work the results we have accomplished are amazing. We are more generous, more dedicated to our patients, and more dedicated to our team. The principles presented in 2008 have been the foundation for our success and they are true today. If you don't like being held accountable then this is not the place for you. Mystery calls reveal the blockage for patients getting into the practice. Once you fix this area, which takes constant effort, then patients have an easier time getting into your practice. By holding your front office team accountable to the way the phones are to be answered is the first step in the process. After that every department in your office will be expected to raise their focus on treating the patient to the highest level of service. Our practice when we started with SI had 8 team members and we have grown to 32 team members. We have been able to teach the principle of living debt free that we learned through SI to our team and most of them have been able to get their debts paid down. Our team is no longer spending beyond their means and are paying off their cars, their credit cards, and creating an emergency fund.
