Saw the spiffy ad for Ashley Furniture in Beatrice on TV over the 4th of July weekend. I was in the…read moremarket for a new bed. Decided to drive to Beatrice have lunch and check out the store and the sales they had advertised. The store is in an old shopping mall, with other stores interspersed. Electronics and appliances in the north side. (Where the sales lady hovered 5 feet away, and every time I would look at something, she would attempt to make a comment about the item. Shoo, go away...) The Close outs in the far south side of the building in an old discount store. No one was there. The main furniture store was in the old kMart. Again, like a used car salesman, a salesperson was on our heels again. Tell them I'm looking for a 3/4 firm queen size bed. She says, here just the one for you and points me to a 3/4 soft bed. Had no idea of firmness or construction of beds. Finally found one that might work. Took her 10-15 minutes to get a price. Asked her to write the model down and I was going to lunch. Salesperson started to fill out a sales form, asked for my name (OK) and then my address (???). Inquired why, and the response was the sales document, WTF? In regards to the other furniture, I seems to be of good quality and at a reasonable price. Needless to say, I left without making a purchase. The biggest turn offs were the hovering and lack of knowledge of the salespeople.

We had the best customer service from their store manager Jenny that we just had to write about it. Ashley furniture found a great manager with Jenny. She was able to meet all our needs. The store owner is very accommodating and more than fair.

I've always enjoyed shopping there. I've bought several things from them. My last purchase was a…read moretable. It was heavy and they did not have enough people to load it so they asked me to help lift it. Once in the truck it was lifted to get it further in and they pushed too far and put not only the table but my hand as well through the back glass of my truck. Then refused to pay for the back window. It took several days to get a response from the owner and I had to go back and forth with him over it. Even said to watch the camera to see what happened. Conveniently the camera doesn't show where we were... there was a camera right by my truck. If he'd have actually watched it he would see his guys breaking my window. He finally agreed to pay $200 of the $1000 it cost me to replace the window and said he shouldn't Eben do that. I will no longer be shopping there for anythingif you plan on buying anything there just know that their policy is that they are not responsible for damage to your property even if they clearly broke sonething.

He also pressured me to purchase a mattress when I was just looking and hovered around the entire time, giving me the old line about lesser quality for the cheaper one I was interested in. I was just looking but he was finally asking which one I wanted in so many words. So pushy and annoying. No have a look around and when I finally left without making a purchase, no thanks for stopping in! A salesperson who doesn't know how to talk to people should probably go into another line of work. The one who sold me the chair seemed indifferent when I objected to their offer of taking my old chair to the landfill. Other businesses who are pushy and uninterested in serving me have eventually gone out of business. If you don't know how to relate to people and at least act professionally, in time it will bite you. Just saying.
