SUPER cute cafe located in a section of Frankfurt called Sachsenhausen. This is an older section with some cobblestone roads, known for the bars that serve Apfelwein, a yummy wine made from apples. I had not visited Sachsenhausen during my last visit to Frankfurt and was glad my friend wanted to see it! Beautiful old homes and business and gorgeous architecture. During the weekend, this area is bustling but we went during the week and it was perfectly fine. There were many restaurants and I am glad we chose this one. It has a cozy German vibe and there appeared to be several regulars enjoying coffee. We were greeted by a friendly young man and escorted to a table. Of course, it was a cold day so we started with cappuccinos that really hit the spot so we could shed some of our layers of outerwear! My friend had the schnitzel and I ordered smoked salmon with potato cakes (like hash browns.) Most plates in Germany include salads. This had an interesting mustard sauce. Sounds gross but it was really good. The smoked salmon dish was very flavorful and fresh. The potato cakes I could eat everyday- crispy on the outside and soft inside. My dining companion said her lunch was delicious and she loved the creamy sauce that was served with the schnitzel. The waiter checked on us to make sure we were happy, which we were. I would definitely return if I am ever in Frankfurt again!

I'm partial to this place. I discovered it soon after moving here and I like to come back a couple of times a year. I always bring Tom Sawyer, our smooth hair fox terrier. The owner and staff are simply kindhearted people with a smile for everyone. They have a standard menu, with plenty of breakfast choices and a variable lunch and dinner menu that repeats itself fairly regularly. I really like the potato pancakes with salmon. They come with a side salad. They make a decent cappuccino (the small one, haven't tried the big one) and the cake selection varies. Today was a brilliant day of delectable choices. I went with the raspberry cream and I wasn't disappointed! They were trying out a new waitress who wasn't as amiable as their regular crew but the regulars kept checking in on us. They aren't open too late. Go by for a coffee.

This breakfast eatery is open basically all day, but at some point, they stop serving most of their food menu. We came here in the afternoon and sat outside looking at the park across the street. I enjoyed riesling while my bf had some black coffee. I definitely will come back here again sometime to eat their breakfast. They have a lot of options for breakfast and drinks.

Bunca doesn't have wifi, but they do have a lovely sitting area in the back that wasn't too crowded when I was there. I considered buying coffee beans in my way out, but by then, a line had formed out the door! From my brief experience, Bunca's popularity is totally deserved!

I got a flat white here and it came in one of the most beautiful cups I have ever seen. It kind of made my day (that and the great taste of the coffee). My only complaint about this place is its lack of wifi. I understand why cafes often do this, but as a person who works from cafes, it is difficult for me to settle in and visit cafes without wifi frequently. In an area like WBP though, it is probably best to not offer wifi as they can keep business and seats turning over more frequently. Nevertheless, I will be back here often every time I am in the area. They take pride in their coffee and customer service and places like this are not easy to come by.
