Jeff took the piano apart ad brought the insides back to his shop. He reshaped the hammers. When he returned, he vacuumed the whole inside out before installing the insides. Second appointment time arrived, and he calls to once again tell me he is running late, and we would need to reschedule. Third appointment time arrives, and I get a text that he's running late but still planned on coming. At 5:00 P:M I receive another text that he would not be able to make it as I was outside his service area. I had originally gave my address and specific driving directions and to now say that I was outside his service area was nonsense. It was getting late and he simply did not want to work any later. This company was a complete waste of my time. I am hard pressed to remember when I have dealt with a service company which had such a poor level of customer service.

Of course, I'd love to spend less, but the bill seems to be in-line with their competition. In addition, they always prompt me every 6-12 months that it's time to tune (though I don't always choose to tune the upright every year).

I wanted to meet cool employees, have great conversations about music, and honestly, I wanted to buy something. I have a lot of money (well, not really) and I am genuinely in the market for... music stuff. Groth Music has guitars, but guitar is not its primary focus. Instead, Groth is the spot to go to when you want to find sheet music. I think there's still a lot of value in this despite e-commerce. A lot of times, the quality of sheet music isn't clear, especially for pop music. It's very useful to be able to look at the pages for yourself. I'm rating Groth 3 stars because no employee felt like greeting me. I was especially disappointed that the guy in the guitar section simply sat at his desk without even trying to engage me at all. He semi-grumpily said "let me know if you have any questions." I genuinely could've bought something, even a guitar, if he took the second to chat with me like many local music shop workers often do. Instead, I got Guitar Center-level service.
