The staff were seemingly very annoyed and were not very happy to take a look at our cat. Several hundred dollars later they basically said "I don't know," and prescribed her antibiotics. About a week later we returned as our cat had not improved at all. The vet "claimed" that they had done blood work and found nothing, stating explicitly that they could not find anything wrong with her and prescribed more medications. A couple days later our cat's condition was declining quickly and we had no option but to take her to an emergency vet. Within minutes the vet determined that she was suffering from severe kidney failure due to not being treated for it earlier. If the Perry County Animal Hospital had done their job, it is likely that our cat would have never gotten this bad. The emergency vet described it as "one of the worst cases of kidney failure" he had ever seen. Her blood work showed insane levels that would have been instantly detected had the staff here actually done their job rather than giving her unnecessary medications that she did not need! Unfortunately it was too late for anything to be done to help our cat. This animal hospital failed our cat and failed us. Our baby should still be here, and she should have gotten the help she needed before her kidneys began to fail. When we first took her to this vet, the signs of kidney issues were insanely clear to anyone with an ounce of intelligence. Yet, we were repeatedly told that "nothing was wrong." This animal hospital is extremely incompetent and values money more than the animals it has been trusted to care for. This animal hospital severely neglected our cat by failing to properly treat her. They should no longer have a license. Please take your cat somewhere else before it is too late for them.

Even though they could not do the examination immediately, we were seen a few hours later. North Hardin is easy to access from Dixie Highway and has ample parking. They share a building w/ other businesses but there isn't any kind of over advertisement, etc. The outside building is very clean and the sidewalk/parking lot is free of debris and trash. The foliage and lawn are well kept and manicured. The flowers at the entrances make it very inviting. The inside waiting area is an acceptable size w/seating to accommodate multiple patrons. There are beautiful pictures decorating the walls w/ different types of information for pets. Products are displayed in the waiting area but the majority is behind the counter. I appreciate this because when there are times I cannot acquire childcare and I have them in tow, thats one less stress (children touching merchandise and removing it from their shelves). There is a sign on the check-in/out counter to inform patrons that there is a fellow family having to say goodbye to their four legged family member when the electronic candle is illuminated. The exam room was very neat, tidy and clean. As well as w/ the waiting area, the room is not cluttered w/ unnecessary items. Our Vet Tech and doctor were VERY personable, professional and knowledgeable. They took time to listen and then to come up w/ a plan of care for the future regarding our new fur family member. I felt well informed and confident after our visit. The check out process was very smooth and I didn't feel pressured to purchase optional items other than what was recommended for ear cleaning and NexGuard. Our family will continue to be loyal patrons because we are always treated well and w/ respect. I would definitely recommend this particular veterinary clinic for its awesome customer service, love and care for animals, it's prices and over all greatness!

I brought my cat in for blood work, and when returning from the back room of this vet, he had a…read morebroken femur that had broken off from his hip. He was a completely capable cat going into this. When getting my cat back from the back room, we pointed out that he could not walk normally how he could before. We pointed this out to the vet and the vet cited arthritis as the cause of him not being able to walk. My wife and I were more concerned because he had never acted like this before. Dr. Brown then hesitantly recommended going to get an x-ray to see what maybe the cause while simultaneously inferring that arthritis could be the cause of his inability to walk. We went down the road to get an x-ray and it turns out that they had snapped his femur from his hip joint while under their care. When we asked about this, they were very hesitant and said they had to contact their insurance agents before answering any further questions. Dr. Brown then later came to us, confirming that his femur had been snapped and ushering us to get him euthanized, even though we had originally came in for simple bloodwork. Now my cat is lying next to me with his femur snapped as we wait to get a second opinion on what we can do while they try to cover their tracks on what they've done wrong. I highly do not recommend this for they have inexperienced that tax who will manhandle your animals behind the scenes without cameras and then become very KG when they are returned with exterior injuries. I say this as a cat dad of many years, who loves and cares for his animals and who would give nothing else for a cowboy, my cat, to be OK just like he was before visiting this vet for simple bloodwork. This vet needs to be investigated for malpractice in the very least.
