i was here for my freshman-sophomore years, i switched to memorial because i don't like liberty…read more first are features/programs. i don't know anything about the sports programs, i just the other clubs/programs are underfunded. there's a shop where you can buy clothes for cheap that people donate, i bought shirts there, idk if it's still there. there's a free breakfast program for people who qualify, i qualified but i didn't use it. the food here seems okay. there's a work out room in the gym. the libraries big and nice with a bunch of places to sit. the school looks good aesthetically since it's new, the AC is usually good. . the school is pretty secure, you need an id to get in and all that except when getting off the bus in the morning since jackson is the second most republican town in new jersey, this school is reeeally bigoted. it's less so the teachers and staff, more the students, but a lot of teachers allow it. students say slurs in class and teachers don't care. there's no real "discipline" for it. this school is "racially diverse" only because of the hispanic population, and even still most of them are really racist towards black people, sexist, and heavily homophobic. constant n words and other slurs. if ur curious just look up " jackson liberty n word" and you'll find a picture of students wearing shirts spelling out "we r all n****s" a lot of the teachers aren't good at teaching, at least for the core classes. they don't keep students attention, no students care about what's being taught because the teachers make it so snore inducing. also the history teachers only teach european history, not shocking. the social environment here is so mean spirited, everyone's apart of a group they never branch out of, any attempt i made to make friends here people looked at me like i'm insane. kids here are SO self absorbed. half of the people here just use snapchat during class, cheat on work, do sports, use slurs, and that's they're daily routine. all of this makes it impossible to make any friends. the environment is depressing. there's a decent amount of physical fights here. popular kids derailed class, and cheated on EVERYTHING, while i actually tried but was too depressed by my life circumstances to do that great. there's a ridiculous finger rule for shorts/skirts/tanktops in the dress code, and no hats are allowed. the gym teachers are boneheads, i liked my fashion design teacher, spanish teacher, and the librarian. i did good in fashion because the teacher actually cared. the counselors aren't really helpful when it comes to mental health, they just parrot the same stuff.

I had the pleasure of attending a meeting at the high school recently. Every year the American…read moreLegion, of which I am a part, sponsors a yearly event called Boys State and Girls State where boys and girls respectively attend Rider U or Georgian Court U for a week, choose leaders, and elect officials in their fictional 51st state. Only a select few are chosen and it's our job to cull those candidates. The school security seems pretty tight. Before entering the school you approach a window not unlike a box office ticket window, where you proffer your ID and state your business. You are given a visitors pass and allowed to enter and wait until the party you are seeing comes in and accompanies you to your destination. In this day and age it is done right. I didn't see much of the school but what I saw was bright, clean, and appealing. The school personnel I came in contact with were both friendly and quite efficient.
