It was late Friday afternoon, and we just wanted to grab a beer. With dozens of bars in this area, you'd think it'd be easy... but because of the extended happy hour, all of the bars were overflowing with people and we couldn't find a spot to sit. We noticed that Schopdog was not crowded so we grabbed a table here, where we were told we had to order food to sit there (probably why it wasn't packed, since most people were just drinking and not eating at 7 pm), and we had to pay upfront (all in very fast Spanish that it took us a while to decipher). We manged to order a large Escudo (a local beer that we enjoy) and a LOT of cheese empanadas (there must have been at least 15 in the basket) for around $12 USD. The empanadas were good, similar to ones that you could buy frozen and stick in the oven at home. Nothing special, but they will do the trick if you are hungry and looking for a snack. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to hang out, but it served our purposes fine and we appreciated that it wasn't overflowing with people like all the other establishments. read more
