I drove some extra miles to get peaches this year. The place that is closer gave me almost an entire peck that was rotten! It starts with a "P" so you will know where to avoid. I'm not going to candy coat this - I know Justin Bieber got his peaches down in Georgia, but the best peaches on the planet are in Waverly, MO at Schreiman Orchards! About an hour and a half outside of Kansas City, these peaches are well worth the drive. They sell about ten different varieties of peaches, but my favorites by far are the July Prince. These juicy sweet babies will have you drooling and slurping like a fool, saying dad stuff like, "that's a damn good peach!" They sell so much more fresh farm goodness like apples, watermelon, cantaloupe, plums, nectarines, bing cherries, homegrown tomatoes, sweet corn, blackberries, blueberries and more. But, I'm not here to talk about all that - this about the peaches ladies and gentlemen, stay with me! This is the important part - the best time for peaches is end of July through August, so stop watching murder porn on Discovery+, get off your couch and in to your car to make the drive before they sell out.
