I hired Brad for a dj service for my wedding the service was not good he didn't have his power cord I had to find him one he didn't bring a speaker for the cermony he threatened to shut down because of bugs he didn't have our first dance song he agreed to pay 125 dollars by nov 1st of this year he refused to take my calls he would answer and hang up he eventually blocked me from calls and from messenger in agreement it said that I wouldn't review him since he defaulted refuses to contact me he has breeched our contract and made the stipulations void so now I will be sharing my experience and filling a civil suit read more

As long as you don't tell him exactly what you want, he'll do good. He had the complete schedule for the reception and he did not do a single thing we had asked him to do. he was also rude to my family and photographers when they would tell him that he needed to be doing something. As the bride I went up to request a song and he said that he had other song requests and would not play mine. After I told him that I was the bride and to play my song, he did play it but after rolling his eyes and having an attitude. we went over the specific details that I wanted during the meeting we had the week of the wedding, at the meeting I gave him the schedule of the reception, specific songs we wanted for dances, and the list of bridal party members. At the wedding he claimed I never gave him a schedule (I walked over to his table and found the schedule I gave him completely scribbled out), did not play the correct song for the bride and groom entrance, and messed up multiple bridal party names during their entrances. also don't get scammed into paying extra for up-lighting that each light requires it's own outlet. he has a very limited amount of music on his computer and used a lot of CDs so most of the requested songs were not available. last thing, he came in and moved the table we had set up for him right up to the dance floor and laid his things down all around it, taking up MUCH more room than necessary. all in all, wish we would've had a blue tooth speaker and apple music rather than him. 0/10 would not recommend read more

Honestly, if you can afford to spend a little more money, I'd recommend finding a different DJ for a wedding. I found this service while looking for a cheap option for my wedding, and ended up paying only $400. Since I was planning a wedding with a very small budget, I couldn't pass this up. I should've known this was a bad choice when Brad (or whomever I spoke with on the phone) asked me to pay the $400, in full, over the phone. I read him my credit card info. My fiancé and I are sorta picky with the music we wanted played, so I cleared it with the DJ that we would just provide a huge list of songs from which to choose, and to play only those. We compiled this, along with a strict timeline, and emailed it to them so everything would go smoothly day of. As we got closer to our wedding date, Brad and I had many, many phone calls during which we went over more information, often clearing up the same info multiple times (names, songs for specific dances, etc.) He said the DJ would arrive to our venue early to set up, around 2 pm with the reception beginning around 4 pm. I even ensured that the list of super important songs and the timeline was physically printed out and taped to the table he'd be setting up at. When my husband and I arrived at our wedding reception around 3:45 pm, the DJ was not even there yet. He then asked my husband and I what kinds of music we like (after many phone calls going over this and a full, extensive list of songs we wanted played). What made me most upset about this experience, however, was that my timeline was completely ignored. One of the only reasons I spent any of my budget on a DJ was to have an uninvolved person to make announcements for dinner, first dances, cake cutting, etc, and he did not come through. I (the bride!) had to go up to him and ask him to announce each event when it was about to happen, so my guests would know what was going on. Despite my general disappointment in this service, the DJ was great about taking song requests from my guests which was fun. Again, if you can afford to overlook what may seem like a bargain with this company, please find a different DJ to help make your special day run more smoothly and be more relaxed. read more

Beware...We booked him for a wedding. He called 3 weeks before and left a VM about needing a Knee Replacement and couldn't do the reception. I totally understand things happen and/come up. He said that he would issue a full refund of $530. Told him I need that money back to find another DJ. A week later no refund, I called him again he stated that his car has been overheating and i will have to wait till he gets his car fixed to refund my money. So he was using that money to get his car fixed. Then i called him again a few days later and he said that he was getting kicked out of his house. Its excuse after excuse and no money refunded. Now he is telling me that he is sending a letter from his dr about his knee. I just want the money back that was sent to him for a service that he is not providing. read more

It was our pleasure to utilize Schroeder's DJ service for the second time, the first being at a family reunion in Arcola, IL, back in 2021. He did not disappoint this time either. We were fortunate to have him again at the Allerton Park and Retreat Center, near Champaign, IL on Saturday, September 30, 2023 for our 65th wedding anniversary celebration. Brad always keeps in communication for several weeks ahead and as the event gets closer. He is business-like, friendly, and always willing to please those who are working with him, and those who witness his professionalism. Brad, too, always arrives way ahead of time, and sets up a great location, and in our case in the beautiful gallery in the Mansion at Allerton. He appeals to all ages, engages those attending, and plays, as in our case, songs that we had suggested. His equipment is excellent, not too loud, and has a great quality. Should we need him again for an event, it would be our pleasure. I would recommend him highly for any event where you might want a quality DJ. He is a true professional. read more

Brad, I'm sorry, I know you've been my mom's friend for a number of years. But that does not excuse the poor service you give through your DJ business. I've thought long and hard about writing this review because you are a friend of my mom's but after being a participant in her wedding and seeing all that happened in the background before, during, and after the wedding, I have to speak up on my mom's behalf because she is way too nice to say anything herself. To be entirely transparent, Brad DJ'd my mom's wedding free of charge as a favor for a good friend. However, his lack of professionalism and good work ethic was awful. Prior to the wedding, apparently the contract needed to be re-written for some unknown reason just a couple of weeks before the wedding. Notes were taken on scrap paper according to what I've been told and then misplaced. Brad showed up to the wedding when the ceremony was supposed to be starting and every single wedding guest beat him there (He was DJing the ceremony and the reception - which he also apparently "didn't know"). He was setting up his DJ equipment in the ceremony location while the guests waited very patiently...His excuse? My mom, the bride, told him the wrong time (hmmm, funny that all the wedding guests, pastor, and everyone else got the right time...) The ceremony ended up starting nearly an hour late due to his tardiness. He showed up not dressed for the wedding and had to "change" clothes after getting everything all set up (which further delayed the start of the wedding). But to many people it just looked like he threw a blazer on over his regular clothes - and it still took him probably 10 minutes to change. He apparently yelled at the Pastor for not using two hands to hold the microphone because it was too expensive to risk getting broken. Before the ceremony began, he stood in front of the guests with the microphone and made a point to tell them they all needed to try his friend's baked beans and tell her how good they were... According to my mom and her now husband, several of the songs on their requested list were not played and at least one game they requested was not done. After the ceremony he bugged my mom for several days about writing a review on his site. When she didn't do it in the time frame he wanted, he wrote the review himself and then proceeded to ask her to "approve" it for publication and then published it in several different places online. I was also told that he asked her to specifically go onto his page and like specific posts from other customers to increase engagement. I am an online business owner and this is completely out of line. If you have to write your own positive reviews and beg your customers to interact with your page then obviously there is a problem. If your service was good, customers would be more than happy to provide their own high recommendations and positive reviews. I'm guessing that every single positive review you see on this page (or anywhere else) was probably written by Brad himself. As far as I know, he continues to blame my mom for telling him the wrong time for the wedding and that's why he showed up late and overall he just was not very friendly to the guests as a whole. I'd also like to add, as a side note, that 8 years ago he was my DJ as well because he was a friend of my mom's. He backed out at the last minute and sent an associate of his for the reception. I was told that they wouldn't be able to play the video I made because it "didn't work" but guess what, I got it to work and it was played (because I made sure of it). The DJ he sent in his place was hitting on all the women at my wedding including myself (obviously the bride). He also very unprofessionally made small talk with my guests telling "big fish" lies all night. I will give the guy credit (don't remember his name) and say he did play good music and stuck to our list + requests, so that's something at least. Anyway, overall Brad did not impress me or any of my mom's wedding guests. Many people that were there have told us since the wedding how his service was sub-par. While it's true he did offer his services free of charge, that was his choice as a "good friend" of my mom's. Free or not, this is a business and should always be managed professionally. If this is how he treats his friends, I'd hate to see how he treats others. After reading several other reviews on this page I see that Brad always points the blame for his poor business and service on someone else which is completely unprofessional and probably not entirely truthful. No matter what, when you're a business owner, you take responsibility for things that go wrong under your service regardless of who was drunk or who did what. It doesn't matter. You always treat your PAYING customers (and your friends, whether they pay or not) with utmost respect and do not blame them for problems that could have been easily prevented. read more

THE WORST DJ EVER! Thanks to this absolute boomer Glenwood's hoco was a disaster! Apparently a really good DJ was originally hired and had to cancel last minute because he got a gig at Disney Land. With no other options, Mr. Schroeder was the only one who wasn't booked. When I got to the dance with my friends we noticed about 20 people walking out the door of the gym in disappointment. We should've taken this as a sign. However, we thought "It can't be that bad, right?" We quickly realized that it really WAS that bad. Kid's were literally just standing still on the dance floor while Mr. Schroeder played songs from 10 years ago (Cotton eyed joe, the Cupid Shuffle, etc.) on a speaker that could barely be heard if you were more than 15 feet away from it. After approximately 10 minutes of standing still students began to relentlessly boo at Mr. Schroeder and started a mosh pit in retaliation to his trash taste in music. At one point, I witnessed him get out of his chair to get a glass of water from the commons and come back a few minutes later. After more booing and moshing Mr. Schroeder decided that instead of taking the hint and start to play good songs that teenagers might actually enjoy (like any good DJ would do) he decided to leave us an hour before the dance was supposed to end. This was a really disappointing senior homecoming and one that I'll never forget no matter how much I might try. Now, maybe homecoming dances aren't really Mr. Schroeders vibe so here are some events that I think Mr. Schroeder would thrive at: 1. A funeral 2. A retirement home bingo night 3. DO NOT HIRE BRAD SCHROEDER (SCHROEDER'S DJ SERVICE) OUT OF SPRINGFIELD IL! Brad was paid $500 to dj from 4pm-10pm and we paid him an extra $50 prior to the wedding to stay till 11pm. Menard County lost power by about 9:15-9:30 on the night of our wedding, and hoped at the time the power would come on. Brad gave it 5 minutes at most and packed up stating the power outage may of damaged his amp. Sometime in the packing process, he handed my computer to a wedding guest instead of giving it to me. When packing up his equipment he may of packed my computer charger on accident. I sent him a text about this after he left and his response was " Yes I think I have.will text u tom.orow.just got home", but now he is saying he does not have it. we've called him 30+ times and he will not have any conversation with us. Keeps telling me that his amp needs to be repaired like it is our fault that he didn't bring a power surge to protect his equipment. When we used a random number to call him he answered the phone and then hung up on me twice In A row with no explanation . Brad Sat himself at the mother of the grooms(me) table during dinner. He did not ask for a meal for him or his assistant nor it was never discussed. If he wanted to grab a plate that is okay , but he didn't need to sit where ever he felt like it and make himself at home. He was repeatedly inappropriate with bride, kept asked for pictures that he took on his personal cell phone. He repeatedly promised he would show up professionally dressed in a suit and did not. Brad would made inappropriate comments about COVID/masks/the state of the world and spoke too long making it awkward for everyone attending. 1 days before the wedding he called me and told Me to pick 20 songs to play because he didn't have a lot of the songs we requested. We had a Spotify playlist for him already made up that he refused to use. I think his assistant was very understanding and actually helped us when we asked unlike Brad who would just huff and groan when he was asked anything. He has not contacted me in 3 days to talk to me about this which he refused to do or answer any of my text or calls. We had to use google voice to contact Brad, and once he figured out it was me he hung up on me twice read more

We hired DJ Brad Schroeder for our wedding in September of 2017 and it is definitely the one thing we would have done differently. I met brad at Denny's to discuss our event. We came up with a contract and I payed in full up front. Shortly after we hired him we kept finding bad reviews on him which did not put us at ease. But we stayed optimistic and hoped for the best. If we could do it all over again I would have taken a loss on the money and hired someone better. I will say that he tried. Our ceremony was in the same location as the reception which required him to have two systems and he managed that well. However he started the music for the ceremony when we were not ready (there were still people who had not taken there seats yet). It kind of rushed us a little bit. And when the reception started it was like he was on his own timeline. I gave him a timeline to go by but I'm not sure what happened to that. He rushed us into the speeches before dinner (we wanted to feed people before the speeches). we didn't even have a drink yet which caused the whole room to wait while I went to the bar and got a drink so I would have something to raise up for toasts. We also didn't get a blessing before dinner either which we didn't realize until it was too late. But that's only the beginning. He really likes to hear himself talk on the microphone. He mentioned his 30 years of experience at least 10 times throughout the night. Along with other random comments and it was really getting old. His song choices were a bit outdated and bizarre. I understand he was catering to the older crowd at the beginning of the night but it was almost putting people to sleep. And then at one point we had a good 20 people on the dance floor and he puts on Eminem-"my name is" not sure why anyone would play that song at a wedding. Needless to say the dance floor cleared. I gave him a list of 25 songs or so that we wanted played and I bet he only played half of them. I had a lot of guests tell me that night and several weeks after that he was really rude to them and often disappeared from the DJ booth to avoid guests from making requests. Again I try to be understanding and I know people can be difficult especially when drinking but if your a DJ you should know how to handle those situations. But the real kicker was that his amp blew a fuse which ended our night early. We had 30 people on the dance floor and all of a sudden the music stopped. This was the most frustrating for me because the last hour of your wedding can really set the bar. I understand that things happen that you cannot control. There was no way he could have known that was going to happen but instead of taking responsibility for it. He told me that it's never happened in his 30 years as a Dj (again with the 30 years comments) and he blamed everything but himself. He blamed it on the building, said the wiring was old then he blamed it on the music because the music these days "has too much bass". Then he told me well there's only 45 minutes left when actually there was over an hour left. I was tired of the excuses! He is the type of guy that has an excuse for everything. We didn't let it get to us or ruin our night but we were very disappointed. And do you think he reached out to us after the fact to apologize or extend a refund for the last hour and a half of the services he did not provide. No he did not. My name is Danielle Hobson we hired this DJ for an outside wedding he could not accommodate our wedding I had talked to him at several different occasions once being 2 months before the occasion and gave him a list of music gave him a genre several genres of music that we would have loved him to play and he acted as if he had everything to fulfill our day. When he got there he informed me he didn't know it was an outside wedding which is a lie and he could not accommodate with electricity not being out in the field you're a DJ you should have all the equipment to accommodate anything like that if you take on the job and agree to it. You were rude to my bridal party you stood in front of the bride and groom as we did our toast you made rude bias comments about hey dudes you rushed through my whole ceremony and made it a nightmare. I had several people go up and request music from like the 2000s a DJ service in the 2022 year should have several different genres of music from the 2000s and up which you did not and said you did. So after having almost every single guest come up to me and tell me you were a horrible DJ and had no music that we wanted played and told them no you would not play the requested tune I came up pulled you to the hallway and very nicely and professionally asked you to leave and told you if you were a good DJ service since you knew we were not happy or pleased with your service you would give half the money back as soon as money was mentioned you yelled at me and called the cops. As the cops got there they said they seen no problem with us you lied to them and told them there was illegal drug use which there was not you lied to them and told them there was illegal drinking and underage drinking which there was not and everybody showed proof and you came at the groom for being highly intoxicated guess what buddy this was our night and you thought you were going to ruin it but you didn't because our Bluetooth speaker and YouTube did a such a better job than you! If you would like to take this to court that is perfectly fine but I promise you in the end you will be paying for my whole entire wedding since you tried to ruin it and did not succeed. I gave a crappy review on bark which is the service where i found this horrible DJ. replied to my review with a bunch of lies so i will clear them up on here. Brad Schroeder's DJ service is the worst company i have EVER hired. I hired them to do my son's wedding. He showed up and was rude and very unprofessional to guest and his own staff. The wedding took place outdoors which he was made aware of and then when he arrived refused to set up out in the field where the ceremony took place. the ceremony music could not be heard and his services are extremely sh*$y. then the reception to follow was inside and his services continued to suck. For the speeches he tried to stand in front of the bridal party table instead of off to the corner where he was supposed to be which in return I'm sure made it hard for the photographer to get photos with him in the way. He didn't have any songs that the guest requested so he was asked to just pack up his things and leave because our Bluetooth radio and phone did a way better job then him. He in turn called the police on the bride and groom. for what reason i do not know. he claims he was threatened which was a big fat lie. he claimed there was underage drinking taking place which again was another big lie. there was not even anyone at the wedding that was underage. so again nice try tring to save face but all lies. Then he proceeds to say that he witnessed drug use. Well last i knew and what you were corrected on was that marijuana was not illegal and it was not dont by anyone period inside the building. then he says they witnessed heavy drinking. HELLO stupid it is a wedding there was alcohol of course there was heavy drinking. you made the remark in your reply that when you called waggoner pd which i hate to break it to you but waggoner doesnt have a police dept. It was county that came out and they told you that you were asked to leave so get your things and leave but you stated that there was only 10 people left when you called the police when last i knew there was more than 10 people in the bridal party alone and you were paid from 4-10 and had some stuff packed up before you were even told that you stunk and and to leave which to me is poor business. We recently booked Schroeder's DJ service for our wedding reception at Venue Chisca. We were able to meet with Brad for dinner ahead of time and go over everything. Brad was very funny and kind, but we did have some communication issues. We kept having to remind him of the wedding date, our names, and so forth. He called us the week of the wedding and everything was squared away and ready to go, which was awesome! We were told that he would be coming by himself to be the DJ at our wedding. However, we were a little surprised when we walked into our wedding reception on our wedding day and did not see Brad at all, but instead, someone else who we were never told about or introduced to as our DJ. The gentleman told us he worked for Brad and that Brad was sick, but Brad never let us know ahead of time that he wouldn't be coming, so we had no clue who our DJ was. However, considering everything, the guy did a wonderful job! He did replay a few songs, and he didn't play all the songs we wanted him to, he also took requests when we asked him not to, but otherwise, we were grateful for him being there so we had music to dance to! He was very friendly! We had a microphone issue during speeches but he quickly fixed it and all was well! The lights looked awesome on the dance floor! We did have to ask him to turn the music up a few times, and we did have to walk through everything with him before the reception began since he was filling in for Brad, so that was a little stressful on our end. We used Schroeder's DJ service for my daughters wedding on 9/21/2019. I payed $750 upfront in January and was told and I quote " VOTED THE BEST DJ SERVICE"....... what a crock of s__t. Brad never even showed up or told us he wouldn't be there and the DJ crew he sent was to say the least less then high quality. The DJ is suppose to be the MC of the reception that definitely was not the case, she even miss pronounced the brides name ..... WOW what a quality DJ that is. They did have two speakers a microphone and a laptop so i guess that qualifies as a sound system but the light show was more like four flashing Christmas lights on a stand just slightly above table height and three more that they shined on walls that they called up-lighting....... not what i would call top quality. They didn't play any requests from the group, I don't even think Brad took the time to make them a play list of the songs we requested to hear. We spent a large part of the night listening to club mixes and trying to dance to songs we had never heard. I already know in his rebuttal he will say they were all drunk and aggressive but that it the objective to have a few drinks and a lot of fun with friends and if you are not having fun because of them then some people do tend to get upset. My daughters wedding was perfect. It was beautiful right up until she cried out of disappointment over the quality of the DJ that showed up. I hope people take the time to read this and other reviews before being sucked in by this charismatic con artist. His service is a sham it is very unprofessional and very low quality. A 12 year old with an Ipod and a string of Christmas lights could have done a better job. Brad won't except my phone calls and went straight to assaulting my character with texts. We've used Schroeder's DJ Service several times over the years. He just worked a benefit for us last weekend and really went over and above for us. We had a "Barn Hop" and our barn was the second stop. Not many DJs would be cool setting their equipment up in a barn but these guys did it without a fuss. They played until the last minute, played everything we asked them to, dressed the part, and were very professional. We used them for our wedding 12 years ago and we're still married. I'm not saying it's the only reason our marriage has lasted this long, just that it's the main reason. Cheers! read more

The owner did not follow through on his promises, the Bride and Groom were introduced by the wrong last name, and the wrong music was played at several "planned dances." The DJ's were very nice, they just were not very good. According to the Bride and Groom the owner of the DJ Service said that he would be at the wedding and instead sent to "fill ins" that were just getting the hang of the job. This led to all sorts of issues; including introducing the couple with the wrong name and making all of the guests at the reception watch a slide show on the center stage that was meant to be run in a loop near the entrance for people to watch at their leisure. Brad Schroeder is very professional, detailed, dependable and with 29 years in the industry, he knows what he's doing! Brad was our wedding DJ on August 30, 2014. He met with me several times prior, to go over exactly what we wanted and the order of the traditions at the reception (first dance, cake cutting, etc.). His prices are reasonable and the company provides many services including up-lighting in the reception hall, wireless microphones and a projector screen. The music he played was exactly what we wanted to get people on the dance floor - it was packed all night! He even stayed an hour later than we initially planned because everyone wanted to keep dancing! I got many compliments from friends and family members about how great our DJ was. I would stay far away from this DJ. As another wedding vendor, working with him was sketchy to say the least. He was difficult to work with, seemed put off and annoyed as simple requests to capture audio of the reception toasts and 1st dance music. During part of the reception 3 buttons down the front of his shirt were undone as he walked around, and overall his appearance was just not professional. He showed up late, but made sure he got his food and drink at the reception. He seems to like to talk about himself and his business more than the wedding couple. Trying to capture photos of the couple during the reception was impossible as he was constantly in the shots putting the focus on him rather than the couple. I've worked with other DJ's that have been excellent to work with, accommodating and easy to communicate with, Schroeder DJ was by far the worst and I wouldn't recommend him for your event. read more

Mr. Schroeder dj'd my wedding a few weekends ago...at least I think it was him. Hard to tell because the Mr. Schroeder that showed up to my wedding was not at all like the Mr. Schroeder that we had met with prior to the wedding. The Mr. Schroeder that showed up to my wedding must've been high because there was no other explanation for being so completely unprepared! Here's my reasons why not to let this dj ruin your special day: I'll start with the wedding... 1. He was completely unprepared. We had went over the songs we wanted played & he did not have them ready. Therefore, he played a talking part of a song that should've been skipped over...had he been prepared he would've known this. 2. Speaking of skipping....the songs he did play skipped! Yep, neat. 3. He was a sweaty mess. The suit and tie he said he'd show up in, well he didn't put those on until after the start of the reception. Too late. Now onto the reception: 4. He did not say the last names of the groomsmen correctly during the walk-in to the reception...right after being told how to pronunciate them! Maybe no big deal, but he didn't bother playing the music we had asked for either for the walk in! 4. Gave his opinion on songs on the microphone...nice to rip on songs that were requested by our kids! 5. Didn't play a lot of the requests, or particular songs that we wanted to be played 6. He was rude to the guests, even my husbands mom! Not cool at all!!! 7. My guests had to help set up & move his equipment from the wedding to the reception tent. We were supposed to have 2 systems -one for the wedding and one for the reception. Apparently his equipment broke a few days before. Did he notify us of this change? No, no he did not. All of this also delayed the start of the reception by about 20-30 mins. 8. Signed our guest book with the date "2017"...right next to where it said "est 10.22.16". Seriously. We followed up with him a few days after the wedding...Apparently, we should've overlooked all of this because he thought it went great and nothing was his fault because he had just moved and his equipment was broke...blah blah blah. After the excuses and agreeing to send us a refund for the 2nd system that we had paid for, he hung up on my husband. Not surprising...ethics go out the window for this kind of person after they get they're money. Maybe if I had whatever he was on, I'd have thought he did a good job too! My brother's wedding was held on May 13th of this year and he hired Brad Schroeder to serve as the DJ. All aspects of the ceremony and reception were great, aside from the DJ service. Instead of Mr. Schroeder serving as the DJ for the event, another individual named Nathan was sent in his place. This was not what was agreed upon when my brother and his wife met with Brad (multiple meetings took place and never was the idea of anyone other than Brad serving as DJ mentioned). Had this been known, they would have chosen another service because their interactions with Nathan during the meetings with Brad were not pleasant (terrible BO and an overall lack of professionalism were evident). Nathan played the correct music at the correct times and everything went smoothly during the wedding. The reception is another story. The DJ is supposed to serve as the MC for the reception, so that the bride and groom can enjoy the event without having to worry about the organization of dances/cake cutting/etc. Nathan completely failed at this aspect. For the price that was paid for this service, this is unacceptable. The first issue that came up was with the projector and the playing of the photo slideshow. The slideshow was burnt to a DVD, just as Brad Schroeder had requested. However, the slideshow was never played at the reception. Nathan provided many excuses as to why he couldn't play the slideshow and he did apologize, but it was clear that he was unprepared. My brother paid Mr. Schroeder extra for use of the projector (which Mr. Schroeder has refused to refund). Nathan fumbled his way through the names of the bridal party as they were introduced into the reception area. He was extremely nervous during this time and his use of the microphone and overall public speaking skills were very poor. The most notable screw up was when he announced the bride and groom, but used the maid of honor's name instead of the bride's name, ruining what is supposed to be a special moment. The lack of professionalism was very glaring to all who attended the reception. Nathan often looked overwhelmed, was clearly unprepared, and he had to be told each time when to move on to the next segment of the reception (something the majority of DJs handle on their own at such events). His attire for the wedding was sloppy and his shirt struggled to cover his entire torso, leaving his stomach visible throughout most of the reception. There was also a strong body odor coming from Nathan. Several guests at the reception commented to my brother and myself about the odor and how it was a disgusting and unnecessary distraction for the night. My brother did not get the quality of service that he paid for and Mr. Schroeder misled him into believing he would be the DJ for the event. I've waited to post this review until after my brother could contact Mr. Schroeder directly to discuss the issues. Multiple attempts to call Mr. Schroeder were made, and text messages between he and my brother went nowhere as Mr. Schroeder believes everything went fine, even though he was not at the event. My brother asked for a refund based on the reasons given in this review. Mr. Schroeder has agreed to refund a small portion, but only if my brother signs a statement that forbids him from posting any review online. This may be the most frustrating of all the issues. Rather than accept the responsibility for the poor service, Mr. Schroeder has chosen to bribe my brother into remaining quiet on the issue. read more

I have know Brad for a long time and used on a couple of occasions. I have also seen him do other weddings and events. He is professional at his work and many of my friends have used him as well. I would recommend him anytime. read more

WOW HORRIBLE SERVICE We had our daughters wedding this weekend 8-8-15 Had a signed contract with the owner to DJ the wedding, he sent a man dressed very unprofessionally, dirty and lacking hygiene. The DJ did not play the songs requested as the wedding party walked into the reception, had difficulty working the microphone, sat for a minimum of an hour during dinner with his hand over his mouth which appeared as if he was sucking his thumb. The same instrumental song played for this entire hour. Was asked to turn music up for guests in the back of the room could hear numerous times to no avail. Was asked to make announcement regarding beverages and he stumbled threw that twice. I called both numbers to Brad Schroeder shortly after these problems arose and as of Monday afternoon I have still received no response. Our family used Schroeder s DJ service a few years ago for a wedding. Our first complaint is: We were told directly several times by Mr. Schroeder that he would be the DJ for the day night but he sent someone else whom we hadn t met until the day of the wedding. Secondly....The DJ that he sent was caught watching pornography on his laptop while sitting at the table playing music. Several people in the reception saw this behavior and complained. My partner and I had contracted this service to play at our party/celebration for getting married. We met the requests Brad had made, such as paying, providing him with our top 40 play list. We also wanted Karaoke so he informed us that an additional person would be WITH him. The night of our party, no Brad, just the other guy. Then is when we were informed that Brad, himself, wouldn't be there. That wasn't a problem. Some reviews I've read made comments about other persons clothing...no complaints on that. Our problem was, not ANY of the songs we had requested were played. He played songs by Elvis, which I personally don't like. A couple of the other choices HE made were quite ridiculous. I attempted to communicate with Brad, on how we felt, but since it's been over two weeks, since our event, he has no intention of even making an apology..which is all I expected. I have heard a lot about this Brad Schroeder. My friends had booked him for their wedding. They enjoyed meeting him and talked him up pretty good. Unfortunately to their shock he sent someone else on their wedding day. They worked to keep their cool and I decided that I would do a little detective work. The DJ let it slip that he had know he was going to be their DJ for a few months. That Brad meets with him and gives him contracts for 2 months out. So that would mean that Brad straight face lied to my friends for at least 2 months. I asked the DJ if he knew that Brad had promised them that he would be their DJ. He said he wasnt surprised and its not the first and probably wouldn't be the last time Brad told someone that. I asked him why he would be part of that and this is what he told me: "He needs the money." So basically he is a willing participant in a scam on brides. Maybe it wouldnt have been so bad if had actually been a good DJ. But not only did he suck at life, he sucked at being a DJ too. I would not recommend this company.
