Was walking from China town down to pier 14 and decided to stop into this place. It was OK. I didn't have time for food just a beer so I sat at the bar. The bar had a very large lip, it was obtrusive. Service was decent. I was maybe one of three people in the restaurant around 3 PM on Thursday. Lots of seating.

They have a great happy hour, lots of seating, tasty food, and excellent beer selection! There's a lot of TV's and they have beer hall style long shared tables. We like the lemon pepper wings - super flavorful and crispy. It also comes with a roasted lemon to squeeze more lemon on and these shishito peppers that are super tasty and not spicy at all. Service is friendly and location is very convenient downtown.

This place makes me feel like I was transported to a place in Germany. Love the communal tables and decor. The service was prompt and the food was as outstanding. Portions are huge and filling. Definitely a place to visit.

Lots of large tables for bigger groups, I suppose it's to cater the office happy hours all around. The drinks are fine, the food is mediocre. Although I wouldn't necessarily recommend the food by itself, when you are drinking and the hunger hits you, it's not too bad. So overall, a decent bar to grab some drinks, and maybe a bite, and chat away.

Went here recently for a work dinner. And the staff, especially our waiter, Samuel was very accommodating even with the last-minute extra guests. The food was good, the vibes were great, and the ambience was warm yet inviting. small gestures, like offering a taste of the beer so kindly when I wasn't sure, to constantly checking in and refilling our waters even with a super busy night are small notes I appreciate in a restaurant. This place would be good for groups as well as get-togethers. The staff took care of our group very well and all with the positive attitude

Stopped by here during our outing for oktoberfest we shared a bratwurst on a pretzel bun it was delicious. We also got another oktoberfest beer in a boot glass. Everything was yummy.

Listen to me now and believe me later--Schroders is THE BEST German bar, no question! From the moment you step inside, BOOM--you're hit with the smell of delicious bratwurst, the sight of massive steins of beer, and the sound of people having a great time. It's like Oktoberfest, but EVERY DAY! The beer selection? HUGE. They have all the classics--Hefeweizen, Dunkel, Pilsner--you name it! And the food? Come on! The schnitzel is crispy, the pretzels are bigger than my biceps, and the bratwurst? PERFECTION. The atmosphere is incredible--warm, inviting, and full of energy. Whether you want to relax after a long day or get PUMPED UP with friends, this is the place to be. So don't just sit there--GET TO SCHRODERS! Do it now! Prost!

Great place for a cocktail, beer, or pretzel in FiDi. My go to is the Golden State of Mind

The ambiance was a quiet pub on a Thursday at noon, so it was welcoming to have a lunch date. The service was very quick and friendly. The food was great! My only complaint of the whole meal was the spicy bratwurst was not spicy at all, but I have a love for spice. The kraut is delicious!

Liana was so fun, kind, and provided thoughtful service. We showed up for happy hour and I'm glad we did. The space is beautiful with large light fixtures. It looks like a beer hall, simple decor with lots of seating. We got seated and ordered a round of beer. The Oktoberfest was so good. I'm glad I tried this beer on draft. We also got some snacks. I am so glad I ordered a pretzel with the beer cheese (+$3). It was delicious, hot, and crusty. The beer cheese was incredible! I'll be back for more tasty treats.

It's been ages since we have been here, so we were excited to stop in for lunch last week. It was fairly quiet when we stopped in on a Friday afternoon, and we grabbed a couple of seats at the bar. This restaurant continues to feature all the fun German beers that you can't necessarily find elsewhere. Also a good selection of some fun localish beers (henhouse is always a fav). I went with the big chicken (for the high abv, I was surprised this was served in a stein, but not complaining). On to the food, love that they have a lunch special - pick an appetizer, main dish, and a cookie is included for dessert! I went with the mixed green salad, and the jager schnitzel, which was generously portioned and came with garlic mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, mushroom gravy and lingonberry jam. Very glad I ordered the salad with it, as the main dish was generously portioned, a bit on the heavier side, but absolutely delicious, and a great representation of German food.

    Great place for celebrations!

Super fun environment. Reminds me of being in Munich for Oktoberfest. Came here for a Big Game Luncheon (Cal/Stanford rivalry football game). Food was excellent, bar service was great and overall vibe was very fun! It's in the heart of downtown San Francisco and has been here for as long as I can remember! Definitely check it out - even more fun with a big group!

Love coming to Schroeder's! Brings back fun memories when I came here after work. Came here for happy hour (Monday-Friday 3pm-5pm) and it's a solid deal. Tried several items from their bar bites menu - the Giant Bavarian Pretzel, Fried Chicken Sliders, and Kartoffel Tots were all good bar food options. Had their fruited sour that was from Fieldwork, which was $2 off during happy hour. The happy hour pricing makes it a great spot to grab drinks and snacks after work. Good spot for happy hour if you're looking for decent bar food and drink specials in downtown SF!

My friend thought the wands were available for show and borrow and got charged $20 for the wand xD I gotta say the night we went, bartender was pretty slow... it almost felt like he forgot our order bc it would take a while and when finished making drinks it was actually another groups order. The bartender wasn't super busy either. The drinks were hit or miss, espresso martini they had on the menu is probably premade bc I asked to change the liquor and he said I wouldn't be getting the one that's on the menu. Tried the one on the menu and lowkey hated it, tastes watered down and bitter. Although I tried my friends "butterbeer" cocktail and omfg if you have to order something get that. It was so good. Drink costs were about $16-$18. For me, it was nice to try and a fun experience! But probably one and done ToT

This creative brewmaster, Justin Boehle, has lots of unique, tasty beers on the menu. I'm a lover of sour beers and this spot had two on tap. I tasted the Revenge of the Nerds sour, 7.5% ABV, with mixed kettle fermentation with Nerds candy. It was sour, sweet and warranted a 13 ounce pour for $11. They put crushed Nerds candy on the rim for an extra sour kick. This thing had a fruity kick and lots of punch. I followed the sour up with a 13 ounce pour of the Flanders-style ale for $18. This dark brown, 8% ABV ale, was aged in French Burgundy barrels. It had a very rich whisky burn and lots of full mouthfeel. A lovely ale for sipping. There is this easy, open energy to the place, especially being right there in Ghirardelli Square, where you can bounce between inside and outside and never feel stuck in one vibe. Crisp lagers, a few bolder options, all brewed in-house and actually worth coming back for. The food holds its own too. Elevated but still approachable, perfect for sharing or just settling in with something satisfying while you sip. What keeps us going back is how versatile it is.
