We saw this place recommended in a regional flyer and stopped in. The food is excellent and I would recommend getting the cheese plate as an appetizer. We were very glad we did, it came with a fig-mustard compote that was amazing. I had the Norwegian pasta with Salmon and it was delicious. The wait staff are very good and will explain any dish on the menu If you don't have a German speaking member in your party, they do have English menus and most of the wait staff are fluent in both German and English. It was a wonderful kickoff for our four day stay for the Zappanale fest; we will be returning here for our next visit to Bad Doberan.

Wow. Great service, and fantastic food! A lot to choose from, and every meal came out looking like…read moreart! The kitchen is very creative there, not your typical standard meals. I know for sure if I ever would be back in Börgerende-Rethwisch visiting my family in Germany, my first meal will be here at the Waterkant Kitchen. Yummy yummy yummy!
