stay FAR away from this place. FOR PARENTS: this isn't a positive learning experience. many children leave this camp scared to ever leave home again due to what they endure. we had children that threw up nearly every meal (there's a total of 13 meals throughout the entire stay) and no parents were contacted. we also had children that were so homesick they became depressed within the first two days and the camp did nothing to aide the kids. the staff was mocking the homesick 10-12 year old children for missing their parents in their faces and to other staff. food portions are incredibly small and many children were left hungry after each meal. there were a few "snack times" provided but the kids are awake from 6:30 am to 10 pm and they're walking/hiking about 7-10 miles a day. it is not enough fuel for their bodies. male staff were walking into all girl cabins without any warning or knocking in the morning while we were changing. FOR COUNSELORS: this place feels dystopian and similar to a cult. yourself and other counselors are the only ones on your side. staff will tell you and the kids that they wouldn't be able to run SCICON without the counselors but they will treat you like animals. the word of the week will be "respect" but you won't be treated like it. if you have an issue with staff, its better to keep it to yourself than tell other staff members. they will gang up on you and begin treating you poorly. some of the staff members have the most sinister looks in their eyes and its truly horrifying. if you take ap/college courses, you will only be granted 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours in one day (tuesday, wednesday, or thursday) to complete your work for the week. you are allowed to REQUEST more time but the staff will give you a very hard time. you have less than an hour a day to yourself. when you get shower time, you're granted about 30-40 minutes to shower and change. you might want to hang out in your cabin to have some time to gather your thoughts but its not recommended. if an item belonging to a student goes missing while nobody is in the cabin, all eyes will automatically be set on you considering you were the last one in there. no matter if the child forgot or misplaced the item, you will be blamed. read more

It's a pretty good camp because I went there in the 5th and 6th. I'm currently in 10th and I'm barely posting a review lol. It had good cabins. The showers were alright. Pretty cold but overall an 8/10. It was nice having a break from technology. The food was good. I'm currently going there for the BBQ. read more

This place is neglectful to children my godson appendix bursted up there he complained to the nurse several times and they did nothing, parents do not send your children up here. Who ever the nurse is needs to be fired and the whole program needs to be reviewed, VERY neglectful, my nephew could have died. read more

Last year, the school was visited by over 15,000 fifth- and sixth-grade students for a one-day or week-long experience in outdoor education, natural science and conservation. I went my senior year in high school as a couselor and had a great time minus the part where i was in charge of kids from middle school BUT i met really cool people and the hikes where awesome! Not to mention how delicious the food was! read more

Forced experience of my life. I hated to seeing all of that dumb dances in the singing songs . Their food is so nasty. There is a few things I like. One of the things I like it was my counselors. He was very great . another thing I like was some of the trails. Despise some of the teachers they are mean.it's just a waste the money don't waste 85 bucks on it.
