Must say altho like a lot of services in area we all have problems but when we have a problem our person is Mike he hangs in there until he figures out solution! The worst service on the planet sig ed up for internet technician came out was great he is the only reason I am giving one star wish I could give him a 5 star and the rest of the company should have a negative rating. Customer service manager is a joke thinks that your time is worth nothing and treats you as if you do not matter not to mention the service itself is awful. Would have taken less time to drive through the store and walk through it then it did for the sales add to load on the internet they wanted 60 bucks a month for. read more

Just Terrible. They aren't open on the weekends. They are overly priced. For some reason, I keep getting additional account charges even though my bill isn't overdue. Unfortunately, they are my only option for internet where I live. On top of that, it's nearly impossible to get registered to pay my bill online. I'm prompted every month that my "account number is invalid" even though it is the number on my statement. They are to be avoided. read more

I left SCTC once because I needed faster Internet service just to do my job, but that was many years ago, and I went back when broadband became available in this far-flung rural area of the county. Perhaps the earlier reviewer lives in a less mountainous area than I do, but to an outsider (I've only lived here 18 years) it's amazing that there are any utility lines at all. The ground is so rocky beneath the soil that it takes patience just to find a spot to erect a mailbox. Errant tree limbs are cut away from phone and electric lines by a helicopter with a big saw projecting from it. The terrain here is formidable. The reason we have a co-op to begin with is because none of the big companies wanted to put in lines and serve this county; the expense of the infrastructure made no financial sense. I for one am grateful that Scott County stepped up to the plate and brought phone service here. And I've had no trouble with getting SCTC out when I had a rare problem. No mega-company providing phone services would be so responsive to its customers. I know this for a fact because that's all I had before moving here. And in response to the "kin" thing the earlier reviewer mentioned: I'm not kin to anyone here. Nary one distant-distant cousin in the crowd. But by any big-city standard I have excellent service via SCTC. read more

I refuse to pay for their cable services, mostly because when I did have it it was constantly going out. So to maybe save a little money I went with Internet...and a house phone. No one uses a house phone unless there is no service where they live? And I was lucky to stream anything on the horrible internet service! When calling tech support I was told too many devices were running at once? So if WiFi is off on everything but the TV does that mean SCTC Internet can't even stream one device? They did upgrade me to 10megs, but somehow service still stunk? Maybe fiber would be better but I guess I'll have to move to a more remote area where SCTC hasn't had their cabinets set before if I want that. Or maybe the residents of Scott County can all get together and accidentally shoot their phone lines down. I hear that's the only way we, the 20+ year customers, will receive fiber! They'll have to replace those lines with, you guessed it, fiber! I hope this review isn't removed like my review...and all the others...on Facebook was. They no longer allow reviews on there. I guess the mention of all board members getting free insurance for life once they are voted on upset someone! And the fact that I pointed out how all the 5star ratings were employees, retirees, or family members of them and the board members. read more

Changed service from Century Link to SCTC in March. The stated package price for BASIC (literally 12 channels) cable, 3 Mgb internet, and a dialtone on the landline was quoted at $70...first bill comes with all the "gotchas" of installation and fees; paid that, first regular monthly bill comes and the total is not $70 but rather an eyewatering $105.71, again for added fees. I called technical support to question the bill and was told that the "video fee" of $16.94 was a fee charged by the local stations (I get that, but should've been disclosed up front), there was a "telephone fee" of $7.50 that I never did get a good answer on what it was, so my question is how they could offer a package at $70 and then upcharge the package by 50% with fees. I got nowhere and while I was probably very snippy, the customer service was not helpful at all. Oh yeah, I'm locked into this crap for 3 years...didn't see that one coming either. Century link is a terrible company for Scott County residents, but SCTC may be just as bad. I guess we are just at the mercy of these two lousy companies in this county. read more
