Originally started in the great resort town of Whitefish, MT, kinda of like a smaller version of Jackson Hole, and the locals like it that way, (as unknown as possible)! The company as I recall, started out with two stations. B 98.5 FM, a solid classic and modern rock station and an AM radio station, which had a combination of music and talk, eventually evolving into the popularity of talk radio! It's popularity grew fast as the Flathead Valley did not have a rock station at the time that was modern, up to date with DJ's that were good, fast thinking, smart and had good communication skills that reached a wide target market. They expanded after about 10 years or so and moved into a larger building in Kalispell or Evergreen. The new site allowed room for expansion of a great country station, talk radio, sports radio, and stations that played more mellow rock!
The success of the OVERALL BUSINESS, in my opinion, is due to the good DJ's who are all aware of what is going on in "the Fabulous Flathead Valley". They are also quick witted and thinking, play a good variety of music format, the variety of stations, with both FM and AM, and solid ownership and management staff.
Overall, Bee Broadcasting, with its solid and progressive movement to keep up with the growth and popularity of the area, the variety of radio stations, quality DJ's, it's progressive attitude and The "Community Involvment" as the company helps out with charitable events of all kinds to help people in need from all walks of life that call northwest Montana and the Flathead Valley home!
