Fun, dark speakeasy right downtown and easily accessible with several paid parking lots close by. The space is pretty small, so probably on weekends reservations are necessary and don't know if it would be great for a party larger than 6ish. There's a comprehensive cocktail menu and the French 75ish and the tiramisu martini were both delicious ($18 each). The prices are super comparable with other bars downtown. They have a full bar if you'd like a standard cocktail or any other creation I'm sure they could make it. Our server was great and very attentive. The kitchen stopped serving food at 10pm which I wish we had been told when we came in because I tried to order fries at 10:04 and was told I couldn't. Which I understand I just wish I had known. We had so much fun looking for this place! It felt like a side quest, and we were rewarded with an amazingly hidden speakeasy. I enjoyed my friend's drink but didn't quite like mine. I still drank it but it was a little sour than what I was expecting compared to what was described. I believe it was the tequila drink. I would go back to this place and highly recommend this place because the vibes were awesome. This place is great for people looking for a more quiet and sit down place. This is a true speakeasy! There's a nondescript black door and you have to flip a switch to be allowed in. It's bot a large place but it's very comfortable. The cocktails are creative and delicious. I mean, calling this place is speakeasy is a bit generous. There's no reservation system. The hidden door is simply a door without a handle that you have to pry open with your fingernails, and when we stopped by, there was one bartender, and she was very pleasant and made very good drinks, but other than this being a converted possible back room for big John's, I didn't really get a speakeasy vibe about it. The craft cocktails were good, I just feel like calling this speakeasy is a bit of a reach. Additionally, with the exception of the namesake and I don't really know what they could've done here, but the reference to "Scotty doesn't know" brought me there, but there was no real tie in with the movie. We finally found it after over a year of trying I finally had to do some internet research to find out where oh where was Scotty. Well Scotty didn't know but google gave some good instructions. The inside is super elegant and takes you back to the 1920 prohibition era, it is small and cozy which is perfect for a couples night out. The drinks were amazing, and service fantastic. Honestly we would have stayed even longer but that's how hangovers happen. My only ask is to keep it like prohibition times where people had to whisper or talk softly, the music is a bit loud for a traditional but maybe Scotty Doesn't know. Cute little bar with couchy seating that essentially is separated by a wooden door held by magnets. No stores you have to pass or telephone booths to walk through. The drinks were solid but of course on the pricier side. Service was good. Ambiance wise, I felt that it did not give off speakeasy vibes. I'd say it was probably an unusual night. We got there in time for our reservation and kept buzzing the light to get in and nothing. Finally someone came out so we went in. I went to the bar to check in and there was literally one person working a full room (two large parties) and multiple small tables. He made it clear there was going to be a wait and it didn't seem to matter that we had reservations (I would've gotten potentially charged for not showing up) we waited probably 30 min and I finally went and asked about how long before we could order and he said we were next up and apologized profusely. We waited another 15 min and finally ordered. Honestly we should've just left as it was so chaotic. I felt bad for the bartender. We got our drinks finally and they were pretty good, not great and not as creative as most speakeasy's. I think that was due to the stress he was under. Went in for reservations on a Saturday night at 8. They do a good job of making it hidden and I like the touch of the light switch for service. It is connected to the bar next door called big John's tavern. They would rather serve patrons wine, but they didn't provide a wine list? If you don't want wine, you can order from the Big Johns Tavern menu that you access from your phone. The drinks were okay and they also came at an up charge from what the menu read. Step back in time to the era of Prohibition when hidden rooms , secret spaces and sipping illegal booze was part of the seduction of the speakeasy. While the consumption of booze obviously isn't illegal here and you don't exactly have to "speak easy" , Scotty Doesn't Know has been able to capture the mystery and ambiance of a notable era in American history. Located in the former back pool room of Big John's (Big John's is back by the way !) the intimate space features a candlelit room filled with vintage furniture and decor. Scotty's is an extension of the revamped Big John's and uses the same bar . While you may be in a completely different room , ordering cocktails is a breeze as you simply press a wall button to signal to the cocktail servers in Big John's that it's time for another round . The space is perfect for date night , bridal parties and for anyone interested in a quieter place to get away from rowdy bar crowds. Reservations are definitely recommended, especially on weekends, due to the exclusivity of the space. We had a great time here and will definitely be back ! I'm docking one star because the entry to this place should be better . We walked into Big Johns because I was under the impression that's how you enter Scotty's and they directed us to go back outside and enter through Meeting Street . While there was an ID check at the door, the entry was the same as any bar . In order to align with the speakeasy theme they should at least require a code word or a more secretive way to enter . They're new so maybe they will figure this out moving forward . Will definitely be back and hopefully add the full five stars ! read more

Amazing service, drinks, ambiance, and overall experience. We were here during the early evening of 7/26/25. We didn't get the name of the bartender (who was actually running the entire operation, incredibly well we must say) but we want to give her a special shoutout! Not only did she make excellent cocktails, but we had such a nice experience chatting with her. She really took the time to get to know us and make a connection, despite being quite busy juggling her various roles at the speakeasy. I say that only to compliment her- the speakeasy was phenomenal BECAUSE of her. Everyone at the speakeasy was having an amazing time. Scotty's is truly one of a kind, and an experience I won't soon forget. Our sommelier, Devon was highly knowledgeable and inviting. They made our anniversary such a lovely and customized experience. The ambiance is very romantic, but still vibey for a night out with friends. We were one of two couples there on a Wednesday night - about an hour before close. I can see how this place fills up and is pretty exclusive on the weekends. The wine selection is insane and has special glasses for anyone's tastes - even the wine nerds.
