Scotty & Diana are the very best people, offering the very best service imaginable! After an 8-hour drive and arriving after dark, we camped in their camping area and in the morning Diana had delicious coffee ready to go for six bleary-eyed Hell's Canyon rafters ... at no charge! Scotty & Diana's store has just about everything one might have forgotten in the way of grocery items, fishing gear, and a surprising assortment of items for boaters. They arranged for our shuttle from the launch ramp below Hell's Canyon Dam to the take-out at Pittsburgh Landing and when I forgot to leave the driver a key in the agreed upon location, they searched diligently and found the spare key that I always keep wired under the frame. Good thinking and it avoided a snafu! When we arrived seven days later at Pittsburgh Landing, our vehicles were waiting for us, right on the game plan, even after my snafu. When I called Diana to offer payment for having to lay in the gravel to find the spare, and for a bunch of lost time on their part, she was cordial and understanding. All she wanted was a kind review. What more could a brain-dead rafter like me ask for! Scotty and Diane are awesome people and it's no wonder they have been in business for 30 years! Here's a little story about me and the crew. My name is Oink, Oink P.I.double G to the Y, don't be shy one look at me and you will see why! Red Rover, Red Rover send P. I. Double G to the Y over & you... the customer can get bent over!! You see, I am the real Pig Shady... ya' all look like you haven't seen a Pig before.. Jowls all over the floor & started whoopen ass worse than before.. customer to customer she goes and she blows, me the rox give up that pig box? so you can brag about it for the next 6 blocks... shh.. ya going to fast... Piggy I don't know where your hoof's been last! It reminds me of a time when the Deacons used to asked if the alter boys would take 2 snickers and a diet coke for some curtain time and well, I look at Piggy and think there is a Deacon in disguise just a bit heavier! Everything you need for supplies. I ride a motorcycle, I needed gas and yes, the only gas there was 91 Octane (they also had diesel) so it is a little more expensive than usual. Perfect. Other places I had to get gas from just had "unleaded" (Octane 87). This is the closest gas if you are going to ride up Hell's Canyon Overlook (there is another town 15 miles away with gas, not sure just saw a sign for services, I didn't stop there). There was a lock on one side of the pump and the lady at the counter patiently explained that I needed to use the other nozzle (I believe in ATGATT so I was fully geared up, obvious I was a motorcyclist). Quick & easy. Lots of people in the store, everybody getting what they needed. Lots of outdoor goods if you need them. I am not really sure what the other reviews are talking about. It is a store. They sell stuff, the transaction was all efficient and worked well. Since the "bad" reviews all have the same theme I am left wondering if one person just posted a bunch of reviews under different names or if something has changed. I wouldn't expect much from a shuttle service I mean you don't really expect much other than getting your vehicle moved down river. I've used many shuttle services and fortunately have never had any nightmare stories from any of them. However I signed up for Yelp just to leave this review as I was so pleased with Diana her store and crew. Diana was so nice and was very agreeable with our shuttle that was a bit more complex as one vehicle was left at a different location. Diana also offered her stores back yard for us to camp in as we were getting in late the night before. The following morning she offered free coffee (good coffee). The store and grounds was emacalate and exceptionally clean. Glad to take the time to post this as Diana went so far and above than what was expected. read more

Worst experience EVER with an outfitter!!! Your money would be better spent (maybe $500 more and WAY worth it) to hire a jet boat shuttle! The lady who runs this business doesn't care about you OR your money....and you'll be soarly disappointed when you pull in to gas up and maybe buy a map when she starts screaming at you and her grandson - who is trying to help you-on a trip you may have just travelled 40 hours plus to embark on.... For 30 years Scotty's been rockin shuttles on Hells Canyon. Til NOVEMBER... nobody ever hears about all the flat tires, the axles that break, the leaf springs that crack, etc.. etc... Some of these reviews just kill me. Its not an easy business... and ask all of the people who have been helped.. this lady does care about people and please remember this when you use her free wifi, free camping, free water, and free restroom facilities! read more

This is probably my favorite little store. The people are fantastic. I've been stopping here for the last six months. And never once have I seen that lady yell at anyone. When I'm there or passing through I make it a point to stop and say hi. She might seem like she is being rude but it's just who she is. She has been working this store for over 30 years, and answering the same the same questions everyday. read more

The lady was very nice and offered me some coffee and a gladly accepted it, it felt good to drink a warm cup of coffee after such a long drive, then i continued to deal with my shuttle pain free and bought some last minute items. Diane, the owner, is one of the most hateful people I've met and has seemed to get worse with time. I used to go there sometimes but will never go back. Save yourself from the trouble, conflict, and abuse and drive the extra 15 miles to Gateway Lodge or Halfway. read more
