Scouts pest control Recently completed a full encapsulation with a dehumidifier installed in our Crawlspace. We would highly recommend Scotts pest control to anyone looking to have their crawlspace encapsulated. we did our due diligence by getting estimates from 4 reputable companies. Scout's offered the best overall service and products, they removed the old 6 mil plastic vapor barrier and small debris and hauled it all away, raked and smoothed out the ground to provide the optimal surface for the vapor barrier, wrapped all of the piers with vapor barrier, installed "Bora-Foam" insulation board (termite repellenting) to the exterior foundation walls, proactively installed radon mitigation piping stubbed out and capped just above the vapor barrier and installed an "April Aire" dehumidifier (on its own dedicated electrical circuit) and it's so quiet we cannot hear it running from inside the house. They also did a proactive termite treatment around the entire foundation of the house. Kenny had a team 4 people working in the crawlspace a few days, other days 3 but not less than 2 all other days for almost 2 weeks. We are very happy with the work that they did. read more

Everyone starting with Meagan who will make your appointments and remind you when service is due to the techs who come to your home to treat. Chad and Keaka are both wonderful technicians and they respect your property and listen to any concerns you have. There monthly fee also includes any extra time they may need to come to your home to take care of a pest issue. Obviously all costs have risen with Covid and inflation but they are still very reasonably priced and it's worth the peace of mind knowing I can call with a problem and someone will be out asap. read more

Needed a last minute CL100 termite inspection. Contacted several businesses who either ignored my request or could not get to me. I called Scout's and was immediately contacted by the business owner who was able to accommodate us the same day, literally about an hour or so from the time I contacted them. Great experience and very friendly and professional staff. Highly recommend. I am considering them for a termite bond for my home and hopefully other pest control needs! read more

I developed an issue with fleas in my house, and two do-it-yourself bug bombings hadn't fixed my problem. I called several local pest control companies for quotes. Scout's was competitively priced, and they were the only company with whom I spoke who offered a guarantee. Plus, Meaghan really spent time giving me advice and answering my questions. They did a follow-up treatment today (I'd noticed just a couple of fleas since the initial treatment two weeks ago, which they'd prepared me could happen.) at no additional charge. We had a real hard time with our previous pest control company. They would never show up when they said they would and then we'd either just get some random bill stuck to our door or mailed to us about them having stopped by when we weren't home. Also got tired of never understanding why they sent us a termite renewal charge every year. Anyway, a friend of ours recommended Scout's Pest Control. The guy that came out was super nice and explained everything about the treatments they offered, how they worked, and what would be best for us. What a wonderful, friendly company!! Scout's came out the day I called them in need! We have a short term rental property that was left in very bad shape. Scout was out with into two hours and got rid of ants before our next tenant arrived that night. Today they came back to make sure all the ants were gone (which they were) free of charge. I am now downgrading my review from 5 stars to 2. I've asked the company three times .. THREE TIMES (!!!) for a paid receipt that includes a statement of work performed . Receipts are important because a record for tax purposes is necessary. The first request was ignored. Then I heard "We were busy" .. and lastly, "It must still be in my outbox" ... I got excuses over a period of two weeks for three requests, asking for a simple "PAID" ... yea, "PAID" statement with services provided so I can add it to my accounting record for ownership. But no ... I keep getting Bravo Sierra. So I'll be contacting the BBB because I need a full record and I can't get a statement that specifies the $$ connected to the actual work performed. The office secretary and the office manager just keep dropping the ball, promising a simple thing and doing nothing. It is a shame that field good work gets overshadowed by inconsiderate, lazy, unprofessional office/administrative staff. ============================================================= Update: 10/11/16. Still no response from them regarding a "paid" receipt. So I filed a complaint with the BBB. After the filing, still no receipt. I placed a 4th call to the office asking them to print a statement of work done and a "paid" to show my account was in good standing. Still no response. These folks should know better than acting like this. Bad reviews like this can cost a company a lot of lost business over something as simple as a paid receipt and a forty-nine cent stamp. How can they think it's worth it? ============================================================== Update: 10-18-2016. Scouts responded to the BBB by telling them that my request for invoice was provided and that I was satisfied; which was a bald-faced lie. A follow-up call to the BBB was required to keep things on track. To recap: my four requests to Scouts were ignored. However the BBB came up with a great idea & contacted the Scout office requesting an invoice be sent to them and they would pass along a copy to me. Scouts responded to the BBB within twenty-four hours with exactly what I'd been asking for weeks. Amazing how that seemed to work so quickly, isn't it? What would YOU folks conclude from all this? A little passive-aggressive posture from the home office? A little hate the customer but don't want to get busted by the BBB? Conclusion: good field work by technicians; really to try to do the best job they can. Bad office administration/staff, needing a little house-cleaning to improve overall operations and customer service perception. Thanks to the BBB for their assistance. Both gracious and efficient, folks need to understand their value to us as consumers. I've had several problems with these folks and they've not just reached out to say ... I have had an absolutely terrible experience with this company and would not recommend them to anyone. I bought the service through Groupon. It was suppose to be a $269 dollar value with indoor/outdoor treatment and mosquito prevention. I paid $49 for the service. When I called to make the appointment I explained exactly what issues I was having. Fire ants throughout the front and back, spiders in the windowsills and mosquitos. The tech that came out was completely unprofessional. He had no idea why he was at my home or what he was supposed to be doing. I had to show him the paper work because he did not believe that it covered the mosquito treatment. He spent maybe 45 minutes at my home, then proceeded to inform me that fire ants are not covered, he can not guarantee the spiders and it takes several treatments to get rid of the mosquitos. So what exactly did I pay for?? I am completely appalled by this business. I have filed a complaint with Groupon and this company. Have not heard back yet. When you advertise a $269 dollar service that is exactly what you should get. The work is not guaranteed and they do not tell you all the facts when you call to make the appointment. You're better off going to Lowe's or Home Depo then wasting your time and money with this company. read more
