Very disappointed in this restaurant today it's high noon. It's 90+ degrees out and everybody is out enjoying a stroll or a day off or something to do with the kids before all the Fourth of July festivities start maybe tomorrow and it's a usual vacation week for folks so they're out shopping wanting to dine nicely in Strongsville Ohio Walked into this one at high noon as I just said and there are people standing around everywhere waiting to be seated. So I go up to the front and when you're standing at the front, you can scan the whole restaurant and every single table but two are empty... That's right 25-30 empty tables with a lobby full of people waiting to be seated? That's unacceptable any day of the week and they told me that it's a 25 minute wait cause they're a little bit backed up. Are you kidding me? Came for a work trip and skipped the hotel bfast to come for a local breakfast. Staff was great. Food quality was amazing, organic. Tho the orange juice was not hand pressed, would recommend adding that . The avacado toast was great. First time having it. Plenty of seating and nice indoor decoration. Utensils and cups were very obviously dirty, and waiting for waitress to revisit so I can get plastic utensils for 20 min and my food got cold. Deserves a no star rating. First it took 20 minutes to get our drinks which the hostess took when seating us. We watched other guests who came in after us receive their food before we got our drinks. All three of our meals were incorrect and no one offered to fix or replace them. We were also charged for 2 items we never received. The wait for a table on a weekend was surprisingly short, but ordering took longer than at bigger chains. Some prices weren't shown, and the chairs could be comfier for what you're paying--around $15+ per person. The food here was really good but the service was extremely poor. We waited about 30 minutes for our order to be taken and when we went to pay I put down my VISA card and was told they don't accept that. So I gave my Discover card and was told they don't accept that either. They told my boyfriend to drive to the bank and get out cash because they wouldn't take any of our cards. Moose's skillet bowl comes with "bacon" ham and potatoes. Served Luke warm at best with bacon bites sprinkled over the lowest quality cold ham bites and cold potatoes. Wash it down with some coffee that tastes like plastic and dirt mixed together. The transgender hostess sat us down at a dirty table and pretty sure he/him's nail polish flaked off onto the table. I usually go to the Scramblers in Olmstead Falls, but was in Strongsville for an appointment and needed to get my family breakfast. There are not a lot of sit down breakfast locations in the mall area so we found this on Yelp. We know we are going to have a good (and large) breakfast for cheap when we go here so we were happy to see one in the area. This location has surpassed the others! I rarely post complaints but this location was terrible! Took over 10 minutes from being seated to someone acknowledging I was sitting there. It was not busy. Ordered a bacon, sausage, cheese omelet and cubed potatoes. No bacon in the omelet and the potatoes were cold and hard. The worst part was the place was FILTHY!! Piles of food on the floor in every isle. Watched my waitress walk back and forth thru a pile of scrambled eggs as if they werent there. Food under every table. So gross. This place is always packed! They have a well run establishment so people were seated very quickly! I ordered the avocado omelet! It was healthy and filling. We had a terrible experience. What made worse was that the Manager Brandy was not even apologetic and acted like she was doing us a favor by offering coupons after their pathetic service. The problem happened that even though we mentioned in our multiple times that we don't want any meat and the waitress who was really nice, did put that in our order. However, we found meat in 4 of our entrees. The manager's response was that they have trainee chef who freaked out. Ordered Pumpkin Stuffed French Toast off the seasonal special menu. The description stated "stuffed with pumpkin flavored cream cheese...tastes like you are eating a slice of pumpkin pie!" The photo depicted large dollops of cream cheese overflowing from between the slices of bread. This is not at all what I received. The French toast slices had just a thin smear of cream cheese, muchlike you would butter a piece of toast! There was hardly any cream cheese to be found and you could barely taste the pumpkin. When I asked my server for more cream cheese, she obliged but did not inform me there would be an additional charge--that was a rude surprise when the bill was received. Strongsville really needed a good breakfast spot, and Scrambler Marie's hit a bullseye! Came in on a Sunday morning at 8:00, just 4 days after they opened. There was no wait and only a few tables were taken. I was seated promptly and brought water and coffee. Both came in carafes, with a lemon (nice touch) slice in the water. I saw on the menu that their salsa was homemade, so I had to try the Southwest omelette. Got it with hash browns (crispy) and sourdough toast. Came out of the kitchen in about 5 minutes. It was most excellent! The salsa did not disappoint, with big chunks of tomatoes and spiced nicely. Matter-in-fact, I got so wrapped around the salsa, I realized I didn't have any meat on the side so I asked for a side of bacon. Had that on the table in less than 2 minutes. Needless to say, the food was great and service was fast. Coffee was fine, but not spectacular. I feel like Jack Reacher when it comes to coffee. He would have been satisfied, but not thrilled. The water, on the other hand, with the lemon and a carafe full of it on the table, was great! I was going to sit at my table and type this review, but realized a line had formed and people were waiting for tables...all within 30 minutes of arriving. It may be due to the novelty of the place, but to be on the safe side, get here before 8:00! Updated on 9/12/15...I was a bit generous with my first review as I recognized there were growing pains this place would have to experience. I've read the other reviews about rude greeters and poor food quality, so I came back this morning to see if I should change my rating. 5 stars it was and 5 stars it is! Even better than the first time. The evil greeter was not there, the proud grandma was, and the food was outstanding! Had the Ultimate Omelette this morning that couldn't have been better. The breakfast potato chunks are heavenly, and I love how they bring a carafe of lemon water and your own coffee pot to your table. Portions are generous and the service is always pleasant, regardless of which location I dine at There's a reason that this place is always busy, despite the fact that they are only known for breakfast and lunch. Had a recent breakfast here with a friend, nothing special but a fairly decent breakfast spot. I ordered a "standard" breakfast meal for me...two eggs over easy, bacon, hash browns (well done) and it also came with two pancakes (instead of toast). To drink I had coffee. The meal was sizable. The two pancakes were on the larger side served with whipped butter and syrup. They were dense and tasted good. The eggs were a bit on the runny side of over easy. The bacon was thick and crispy (how I prefer) but lacked in flavor. The hash browns were less than well done, which was a bit disappointing. Coffee was served in a pot at our table, so we could "freshen up" at our leisure. My friend really enjoyed his meal, and although mine was decent this is not a spot I'd probably seek out on a regular basis given the food quality and the price paid (similar to pricing as a Bob Evans, for instance). read more

Scramblers is at the end of our street and we finally decided to give it a try yesterday. Understandably, it was Mother's Day and many restaurants in the area are struggling with staffing issues. But some of these issues are unacceptable considering the prices. The first issue is the online ordering app. You have the option of selecting a specific time for pick up, or "as soon as possible." After selecting "as soon as possible" and paying online, I received my email receipt. No other notifications of when the order would actually be ready. After about 15 minutes, I called the restaurant to see when the order would be ready, or inquire if I would receive a notification (no other information is given on the process online or with the email received). After calling at least 10 times and getting a busy signal, my husband finally just drove up. When he arrived, the host simply told him it would be ready in a half hour. Ok. So he drove back home and went back up 30 minutes later. Upon return the order was ready - note we never did receive any type of notifications. Now the food.... We ordered two stacks of pancakes, three sides of bacon, and an omelette with English muffin. They did not give us any syrup with the pancakes. Luckily we had some at home, but clearly would have been an issue if not. My husband's English muffin was barely toasted. We ordered the bacon as extra crispy (you can select this option when ordering online). The bacon looked like it was hastily microwaved - half of each slice was overly dried out and burnt, other spots undercooked. The bacon was so bad we threw it in the garbage. The pancakes were just okay, but honestly nothing special. Extremely dense and heavy, not light and fluffy. The omelette was nothing special - actually too much cheese. All things considered, we ended up paying $40 for a very disappointing and underwhelming breakfast, which we could have made better ourselves. Also, both times my husband stopped up, nobody was visibly on the phone, so I can't help but wonder if they just took the phone off the hook so they didn't have to answer calls? Too bad because it would be fun and convenient to stop in this place since it is within walking distance from our home. We won't go back, nor will we recommend. read more
