Thankfully I found couple places on Yelp that gave me free quotes ($350-$450)over the phone. We decided to go with Evergreen since they were available that day. Mike was very straightforward on the phone & gave me a quote for $400 + tax! No sales pitch! Unfortunately he was out of town for a week so he had asked his partner, Alan take the job. Alan was also straightforward, pleasant & easy to deal with. He finished the job (changed both springs)in 30mins. Also, he gave us some tips on maintenance, which we appreciated. I'm always very anxious about hiring any trade workers bc most of them are not honest/reliable so I'm so grateful I found Evergreen! I just wish they can fix more than garage doors...haha!

The other has kept forgetting to send me their L&I contractor ID so I can look them up There seem to be a lot of fly-by-night subcontractors out there who are farmed out via Big Garage companies. In comparison - Dan's was ontime for the estimate, gave good advice on need to get an upgraded spring (not worth it) and priced well comparatively. Installer was very knowledgeable and didn't try to upsell at all. Went with them and they finished the job in 30 minutes - replaced both springs, balanced/aligned/lubricated . 1 yr parts/labor warranty Traded notes with my neighbors and 2 of them were overcharged in comparison.
